The menu is small and generic, and nothing tasted like it was made with fresh ingredients. When the food finally arrived, the portions were tiny and definitely overpriced. I ordered the three buttered pancakes, but they came completely dry--and charging $0.75 per topping per pancake is insane. The food itself was just meh. Not a bad place to eat.. Wifie and I stopped in on our way home for a quick bit to eat. The interior has not changed much in the last 20 years - it is clean and well maintained. Food is traditional American breakfast and lunch, with some Greek mixed in. Wife got the gyro dinner plate and I got the Greek burger. Both were good. Shared a piece of chocolate cake, very good! We started off with coffee and water, I also chose an apple cider mimosa that our waitress mentioned. The coffee was great, hot, strong and robust flavor. Got super super hungry? Then stop here- great portions! We traveled from Columbus, and our friend asked to meet him at this place. The place definitely had not impressed by its interior or cleanliness. However, I loved the smile of the waitress and that friendly question "honey, where do you want to seat?". From the door, we were friendly greeted and quickly got the table. Please be aware- if you are on the strict diet, this diner is prohibited to you! The portions are enormous lol I have ordered simply Greek omelette and boyfriend got strawberry French toast- yummy! By the way, I couldn't finish my omelette bc it was huge- no complaint, will take home! Although it's a casual place, it has lovely atmosphere. Not even good overall. I have been going to this restaurant on and off for many years. That has probably come to an end as of last visit. As many others have said, service is embarrassingly bad. Last visit i actually felt insulted by the poor service. More below. The good: price is below average. Particularly for the serving size. They plate is generally crowded with food. The food is slightly above average IF you can get them to make it as you ordered it. Thats a big IF! The bad: sadly, there is a LOT of bad. In the last 3 visits over about a 2 month period, the order has been wrong when it arrived at the table. I cant remember the first issue. But on the previous visit, we asked for extra brown, CRISPY home fries. We were told, "I will try, but i don't know if they will do it" [kitchen]. When they came out, they were mushy as usual. When we pointed it out, we were told "it's hard to get them crispy". Funny, lots of other restaurants find a way. Not Corner Cafe. Fast forward to the last visit. When we arrived they were busy, but not full. Had several large tables completely empty (10 or more seats). We saw a couple of booths opened but not bussed. They indicated they would clear one for us. 5-10 minutes later, we were still waiting. Someone else on staff(manager?) asked why we had been eaiting so long. She then cleared the table herself and got us seated. No problem, they're busy... one waitress came by and took our drink order. She told us there was drama in the kitcen today. Um, ok? Probably shouldn't tell the customers that, but we were warned i guess. First red flag. A couple minutes later another waitress asked what drinks we wanted. We told her someone already took our drink order, but we were ready to order. She took our order. We didn't even get out coffee for at least 15 minutes after 2 people tried to take our drink order. 2nd red flag. Several large and small groups arrived AFTER US for the next 30-45 minutes. We were glad we ordered when we did. Several of these actually ordered, got their food, ate, and left. Still no food on our table. 3rd red flag. Our waitress noticed us once (been here about an hour now) and said, " should be about 2 minutes". So...10-15 minutes later...still no food. Got here attention as she dashed by our table and she again said "2 minutes". And another 10. I asked for a manager. She said..."ok" almost exasperated. 4th red flag In a few minutes, a third waitress that had not been working with us said she had been "nominated" or something like that to talk to us because everyone else was afraid to. Please understand...i had not been rude in any way. I said please and thank you when drinks were EVENTUALLY refilled. Anyway, this waitress was understanding and apologetic. Um...why was a waitress taking my complaint when i had asked specifically for the MANAGER. Lame. Unprofessional. Embarrassingly so. Crashing and burning now! Maybe 10 minutes later, food arrives. Finally. Immediately notice the toast is wheat not sourdough. Waitress promises to bring it right out. I cut into the eggs and they are over hard or at least medium...i ordered easy. And my home fries are mushy as usual. Funny, the person with me ordered the same order, crispy and all, and somehow they miraculously made hers CRISPY. Apparently they just didn't feel like making mine crispy! Not interested in waiting any longer...i ate it. At least it was good food. We just started eating when the manager? Drops off a baclava a la mode and says "hope this sweetens your day". Sweetens my day? Wow. Uh, thank you? I guess. The food aitress drops off the check. We finish and go to pay. The manager? Again apologizes and says she "hopes they do better next time." I told her flat out they wont get the chance. We wouldn't be back. We were regulars and were just done with this place. She said she understood and took my money whilr saying "who wants to come to a restaurant when the cook is going through a divorce?" What? Sharing persaona info about an employee AND failing to take ownership of management incompetence at the same time? Thats exceptionally clueless. Amazing. Seriously, dont go here. New to the area and hungry for lunch. Stopped in here for lunch, hubby and I each had a special. I had grilled cheese, wedding soup and onion rings, hubby had the cowboy scramble, came with toast and potatoes. Everything was delicious!! Well .. boy.. this was a drive by spontaneous breakfast.. ( deep breath) paneled walls with splats of grease.. a smell in the air I can't quite describe. Maybe an old grease trap, I'm not sure . Whichever the case, to all of you thinking of stopping DONT DO IT!! The only reason why this place got two stars was the waitress was sweet and courteous. She just works here, not her fault. We ordered omelets with sausage and cheese.. also my husband ordered one pancake. Cool, easy enough.. that could not be farther from the truth. The pancake came cold.. so cold brrrrr .. cold syrup which always bugs us. My omelette was an egg cooked on an open grill with some sausage sprinkled on top. Ok. I'd like to first say that I've worked in the food industry and I'm a very understanding guy when it comes to restaurants. However, there is absolutely no justification for the 6.50 charge I am stuck with for the absolutely abysmal presentation of the 'between the bread sandwich' I was given after 40 minutes of waiting. The bread looked like it was from meijer down the road, the cheese was haphazardly thrown on the bread and not even melted. I literally had to make a Yelp to help future customers avoid this mistake. A small Greek American restaurant. The Corner Cafe has a really good Ruben sandwich. Their menu is pretty standard with typical diner food with some Greek options thrown in. The staff was attentive. The booths are worn and the restaurant has the feel that is has seen a lot of patrons over the years. It was cold inside which makes for a not as fun experience. Many times I have passed this place up after viewing various white hairs with their walkers and scooters shuffling through the doors. It made me think it was just another greasy spoon catered to heavy smokers, and old folks. While this place does attract those two types of people, it also attracted my interest this past weekend. I'm not entirely sure what the Corner Cafe Restaurant is going for. Half of the menu is Greek, some is Italian, some is cheeseburgers and diner fare. The inside of this establishment is just as confusing with the white tiled floors, wooden paneled walls decorated with various Budweiser signs, and tacky bar mirrors. I look around to see locals with hardened expressions as sounds of avid smokers hack up what is left of their lungs. To my utmost surprise after my husband and I are looking at each other with terrified expression, we order our food, the server was pleasant, and most importantly, the food was delicious and above what I expected. The husband ordered the hotcakes, which were a relief from the greasy atrocities usually produced by change restaurants. These were nice, big, fluffy, and what real pancakes should look like. I ordered their "Brunch burger" off of one of their side cards, which was a cheeseburger topped with a fried egg and bacon. Yes, it was superb, and satisfied my craving wholly. Now, I would not recommend stopping at Corner Cafe in hopes to be wowed by culinary technique, or freshness, but I would stop by here if you are in need of some good, and greasy, home comfort food. A roadhouse and bar with Greek flair, Corner Cafe appears to be something of a local favorite. I dropped in on a Sunday afternoon, a few hours before closing, and the place was still pretty crowded with people coming in after me. The menu has a list of sandwiches and American classics, as well as a few things like shrimp and so on. The specialty, though, would be the gyros...for good reason. There is plenty of meat in the soft, flavorful bread, with fresh tomato and lettuce. The tzatski sauce is pretty good too, and I don't even normally like the stuff. Greece has some influence on the atmosphere of the restaurant - a "key" border on the wall, pictures of Grecian scenerey/buildings - but for the most part, it's American diner at its homiest. The sparkly red vinyl booths are fun and comfy, and local advertisements are varnished into the wooden tables. Corner Cafe would probably be a good place to bring a sizeable group, too - there is a lot of space to work with. Service is alright. The waitress I had was quite friendly and helpful. However, she never did bring the check. After sitting for quite a while, I finally went up to the bar and cashed out there. I have a feeling that is not the norm given the annoyance displayed by the bartender/cashier, though I could be wrong. I was also never asked about desserts and didn't even realize they had any until I saw them in a case by the bar. They look pretty good, so something to keep in mind for a future visit. Prices are reasonable: my entire meal, complete with sandwich, coffee, and tip, came to about $10. I definitely did not leave hungry. read more

Service was actually great, which is unique apparently considering others reviews. The coffee was very good and kept full, which I appreciated. Unfortunately the food was pretty below average. I got a fajita omelet, it was over cooked, tough and flavorless. The veggies were pretty much raw but the egg was brown and dry. The "pepper jack" cheese, which they put on top instead of inside, had no flavor. I asked for well done potatoes but as others have commented, they were mush. Too bad the food isn't better because I could make this a regular breakfast stop. This place used to have pretty good food, but not so much now. Tonight's dinner included an order mix up, a very bland chicken gyro my wife ordered, and my traditional gyro dinner with meat that tasted like it had been re-heated 2x from yesterday's dinner with an off unappetizing flavor. Couldn't finish half of it. But the fries were good. Prior meals in past few months have also been poor too. Biscuits and gravy consisting of minimal sausage, and hard little biscuits the size of ping pong balls. Gyro omlettes aren't nearly as good as they used to be, and over medium eggs way undercooked, and the server just shrugged her shoulders and walked away when I said something. They've been good about reducing our tab when the food wasn't good or service has been poor, but we're not going back soon. read more

We went for breakfast 11/7/21 about 11 am. We sat at the bar as many tables were full. There were many dirty dishes on the bar from cleared tables and a tray of dessert. There were about 5 service girls and misc people in back. Everyone is short handed nowadays, however, none of the wait staff was friendly, chatty or smiling. One girl stood out as she was smiling, greeted us and took our order. She apologized multiple times for the delay in getting our meals as the "kitchen was backed up". Sarah B. While I really wanted to like this place....I just didn't. There is a large NOW HIRING sign in the front yard so maybe after new/additional staff is hired, my problems would go away. Unfortunately we won't be going back to find out. We went about 11:00 for breakfast on a Saturday. Restaurant was busy but not full. Took 40 minutes from placing our order until it arrived...too long for pancakes, eggs and breakfast meats. The pancake had such a crust on it that a knife was necessary to make a cut. And it was cold. Plate was hot though - fresh from the dishwasher? Diced potatoes were homemade, a plus, but were barely or not completely done. The inside had a musty old smell....like there was mold somewhere. Table was sticky. Bathroom was clean though. Our waitress was nice and apologetic about the wait. So I've been going here more frequently now that I work in the Delaware area and I've been trying a few more menu items. You really can't beat the prices here. They have a prime rib sandwich for under 10 bucks that is phenomenal! The buffalo chicken sandwich is a little too messy and not enough heat but is still enjoyable. Three stars is perfect for this place. Delaware has a severe lacking of breakfast options outside of your standard chains. The food is pretty good but not great. The service, as others have said, is absolutely terrible! What's worse is the owner is always there but service never improves. Delaware needs a Northstar or another Mom N Pops breakfast joint that can serve customers in a reasonable amount of time with good food. Great neighborhood dive diner and bar! Filled with regulars...a lot of farmers in for breakfast or lunch. Local cops favorite spot. Super casual. Mostly great food, excellent prices, daily specials. The restaurant is owned by a Greek family, therefore there are some good Greek items on the menu. Booths, tables and bar stools to eat at the bar. No smoking, alcohol served, always have the Buckeye games on TV on Saturdays. Lots of parking. Great deserts. You never feel like you're being rushed out of the restaurant. Sit and talk with a friend or friends as long as you like after your meal. I like to just order a grilled cheese sandwich or a salad which are both good.
