    Club salad

New place, service was average, salad was decent and the fried green tomatoes was my favorite. Crispy outside was so good contrasted with the green tomatoes! Ranch that was there for them was a little sour. I think they pre portion them so maybe ours was not refrigerated?

Great food, friendly waitress, clean table/booth. I got bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns- all delicious! My husband got their breakfast burrito, it came out piping hot and fresh. So good! I also tried their pumpkin pancakes, which were so delicious and had a crispy edge. We will definitely be back!

Delaware Diner is now back OPEN AGAIN!, under new management! They opened back in June 2025 and have been in about five months. Alright, Let's go!.... The good the bad and the ugly! GOOD: with a traditional Americana menu everything you want for breakfast is gonna be here, but unlike the past Diner, there are no interesting oddities like the smoked salmon themed menu item that tried to make it stay with the past Owner. Today, I tried the yop breakfast item in price, steak and eggs, and received a quarter inch ribeye cut with a respectable cap, after slicing it in long 1/4's. I guess they are CUTTING EXPENSES! The steak, which could've been thicker, was cooked Medium Rare Push salted/blackened; not really a steakhouse-- I overplayed the order. It was indeed good enough to eat, to get some protein & the two eggs over medium cook correctly the FIRST TIME, and I would've gone for rye toast, but it was marbled rye, without seeds, which I prefer, so I just went with the biscuit..... which was good and steam me on the inside, which I split, open, and deposited too cold open yourself butters on the inside and let them melt. I would've added honey to make breakfast bottle, which I do it other places like BobEvans in a pinch, but there is no honey on the table. I did not request it I added on ala carte single waffle, when typically an order comes with two, so I appreciate him pouring one on the side. I got something that was doing a little bit interesting, definitely artistic and presentation, dripped into the waffle mold, and came out in an artistic shape, other than a full circle with a 3 inch radius. ---It was more like the size of your fist if you put it on the table, but it was! Delicious, ---with chunks of maby brownsugar surprising you in every bite, as though brown sugar chunks had been left in the batter unmixed to completeness- nice!. The heat of the waffle melted the salty butter, and the pockets captured the cold syrup that wasn't warmed, but as I came back to the waffle towards at the end of the meal, after some simmering, it all melted together, and started soaking into the top and was an excellent end to a tasty breakfast. All in, i was full but the portions were light enough to leave room for this very surprising breakfast dessert waffle add-on. MAKE SURE TO try at least one waffle on the side! BAD: as mentioned before, the steak was about a quarter inch thick, and visually not impressive, but for $14.99 you probably can't give away too much meat. I still feel like it was a #GreatValue and my final bill ended up being $28 even with a coffee and large orange juice. UGLY: I didn't make a trip to the bathrooms on this visit, but usually that's where the ugly shows up. I'd have to give them two thumbs up for now as it was very clean and they've taken down the dividers from Covid, which mainly fuel before with the old owner like you had privacy, but that you had walked in a private cell ; and now the restaurant is visually open as you can see across the entire room. So! not really much UGLE to report here today, and I would recommend giving this location your ONGOING SUPPORT, because we need to keep this place open for spontaneous 23 drives, --it's a great place to pop off and get breakfast. Or, If you need to get up in the morning and get out of the house from too much working at home, this is a nice 25 minute drive for breakfast.

    French toast and fruit

The food just missed perfection. French toast Was good just a little soggy in middle. Eggs Benedict was good, tomato on one was not ripe enough to eat. Love the real diner ambiance and service was very attentive

What does the interior look like?

It looks like a typical old time diner with a bar for those who like to watch the action and booths filling the rest. It reminds you of an old dining car.

And the building and restaurant has a cool history as being one of the oldest in the state. My server Ian was cool as was the rest of the staff I encounter. It s nice to see younger people with goals who take pride in where they work. He recommended the grilled sirloin which was good: A simple nice grilled steak with great char marks and seasoning. The potato was okay, and I couldn't tell if it was from a box or they peeled them, but they were tasty and a nice large portion. It just needed butter which they brought me. The Caesar salad was very good, and I am picky about both salads and dressings... I could have even eaten more of that! I am glad they are preserving it and its legacy. I am also glad they are open on Monday when many of their competitors in Delaware are NOT! When I first thought of Bunns, I thought of old people, and this clearly contemporary with an updated menu! They even have Jell-O! I wiIll definitely return and recommend it to anyone who asks me for a good place to eat... Much appreciated.

My favourite is the pistachio creme filled croissants, followed closely by the strawberry and cream croissant. They have a wide array of sweet and (I suspect?) savoury bites for your morning breakfast or afternoon pick-me-ups. The decor is nothing to write home about, but it's nice to just sit on the stool, gaze out the window on to the busy streets, and sip your cuppa as you people-watch and munch down on a lovely pastry.

They have house made gelatos, pastries, paninis, many drinks, and more. The girl at the counter was super sweet and answered all my questions and made some recommendations when I asked. We went with an iced sweet mocha, which was pretty good. They also sell pumpkin spice lattes and can basically make anything that's not on the menu either to your liking, which is great. I thought it was great that they offer cappuccinos, etc. Italian style. For food, we tried the cookies and cream gelato (small for $5.50, a bit pricey IMO), veggie panini ($10, totally shareable among two, best served after panini press), strawberry marscapone croissant ($6.50), custard filled donut (bombolino, found it to be extremely dry and custard was dried out too, did not finish), and tiramisu (small for $5, made in house, a staff favorite). I appreciated that they make their gelatos, there were several flavors to choose from and you can try before committing. I wanted a meat panini, but all the meat ones had pork in them, so opted for the veggie one, which was great flavor with the cheeses and pesto. The bombolino donut was a fail and the least liked item, I would not get it again. Perhaps, it was an older batch item? The tiramisu was great! I would head over for a sweet treat when nearby again.
