I like Panera but this is absolutely insane to serve to a customer. I know exactly how Panera prepares their Mac n cheese, it sits in the hot water in a bag, and it's dumped into a container. So how on earth does it look like this? From sitting for too long outside the bag. This is NOT from my fork either..... i opened the container to a thick soup basically.

    $13.28

I ordered a You Pick 2 at 7:36pm on a Monday night. 1/2 of a Bacon Avocado Melt and a cup of broccoli cheddar soup. They were out of two types of the bread choices and the cheese that comes on it. I received my food and they forgot the avocado on my bacon "Avocado" melt. I go back up and ask if my sandwich is supposed to have avocado? A worker then puts a piece of avocado in a cup and slides it across the counter and doesn't say a word. The dining room is filthy and the majority of the workers were standing around talking and playing on their phones. This is what $13.28 gets you.

I love Panera, but this location keeps falling short.... If I'm going to pay 10.00 for a sandwich then I expect it not to be burned and to be put together with care..... I had to wait 15 minutes for this mess....

Good salad but overpriced! Probably wouldn't come back but it was okay. Just stopped in while I was out shopping for a quick bite. Panera is just Panera and I'll go there every once in a while but not all the time. I was able to take half of it home and eat it later. All in all was an ok experience.

Our waiter was super friendly and quick! He brought out water and took our drink orders. I had the Patron Saint and it was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend. The rest of my party had a tequila sunrise, aperol spritz, and the coffee stout and all were great We had brunch and all of the dishes were so good. I enjoyed the French omelette and the dressing on the side salad was probably my favorite part! My mom loved the smash burger and the waffle fries were amazing and crunchy. My dad enjoyed the country fried steak with egg and also liked the fries. My brother ordered the best out of all of us! The shakshouka was to die for! Definitely give that a try if you have a chance. We finished up with the beignets which were okay but needed more powdered sugar. We also tried the whiskey bread pudding and it was pretty phenomenal! Our server, Tony, deserves his own fan club. He was the perfect combination of kind, attentive, and genuinely funny--the type of person who could probably convince you to order a shoe if it came with the chef's balsamic reduction. Speaking of which, I had the filet medallions with said reduction, and let me just say: if I could marry a sauce, this would be "the one." My friend ordered the scallops with risotto, and she ate every last grain of rice like she was guarding treasure. Special shoutout to Matt, the manager, who went above and beyond to accommodate my many food allergies without making me feel like "that" customer. Instead, he treated it like a fun culinary puzzle to solve. Food? Phenomenal! Service? Flawless! Atmosphere? Just the right mix of cool and comfortable. Regrets? Only that I didn't take a picture... but that just means I have to go back.

And I think that might have been our downfall. We went the breakfast route and started with a Cinnamon roll made right on the griddle. It created this crispy char that gave the roll more of a funnel cake texture. Unique, and the icing definitely enhances it (as it does most cinnamon rolls). Their special breakfast sandwich, "The Morning Wake-up" touts a "2x the size English Muffin" and they were not lying. This sandwich had cheese, multiple meats and vegetables, and I needed to take half of it home due to sheer size. What it didn't have... sauce. What it needed... sauce, syrup, aioli or something to lubricate all of those toppings. The breakfast potatoes on the side needed salt/seasoning/sauce, too, to be more to my liking. It was a similar experience with my wife's Reuben and the fries that she ordered; the sandwich had its moments, but it made me wish one of us got a burger like most of the other patrons.

Backstretch is super casual (given Ohio Wesleyan is nearby - its almost a college/town bar) but great to come in a sit at the bar or one of their booths. It isnt big, maybe 15-20 bar stools and 12 booths and 1-2 tables. This time we picked a booth and a great server (Jacobi) helped us right away. Fun part of backstretch is the staff. Servers are friendly, you can watch the cooks prepare your food, and they have a full bar. Note they dont have many draft beer options, but servers tried hard to get us something we liked. Food here is fresh off the grill and tastes like home cooked food - from their Reuben(which was amazing) to Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich (has kick but so good) - you cant go wrong. This time we added Tots, Mac and Cheese, and the Deviled eggs (most sandwiches are served with a deviled egg - tasty). We also tried Jacobi recommendation of Hencock Tots - wing sauce - cheese and bacon. Should have just made that my meal. Amazing. They dont take reservations but unless there is an event in downtown, you can usually walk in for dinner. This was our third visit in 60 days! Ready to go back - thanks Jacobi for a fun night and see you all soon.

Today ramen! 1 mile from my house is Kyushu. Black garlic ramen with pork, 4 crispy little veggie spring rolls and the pork buns. I don't know what they are called on the menu, I just know what they are lol. Ramen is also subjective and I've had my share. Kyushu is just very very solid. It comes out fast and most importantly, the perfect temp. I've been to some ramen places that bring out a bowl of lava ramen served with a side of skin graft. The corn at the bottom is still fresh with a crunch to it. The Black a garlic just has such a depth to the broth. The egg is always perfect and the pork just melts. The spring rolls were super crispy and I really liked the spicy mayo dipping sauce. I love anything that resembles a Bao bun. I especially appreciate the chili oil and spicy seasonings at each table. Warms you up on these unpredictable Ohio evenings. I also had a Tsing Tao and an Ichiban lager beer. All in all just an enjoyable meal. $41 plus tip for everything. No complaints. It was worth it.

That alone would have been worth a visit! We tried a variety of dishes - the wings, mushroom toast, cabbage casar, andouille dog, extra cheesy burger, and the soup of the day (chili). Wings were cooked well as always, though I prefer the Speck lemon/chili seasoning to traditional buffalo. The mushroom toast was impeccable, and the chili was one of the best I've ever had. The burger served on queso was a fun twist. Special mention to the fries - so often an afterthought, the fries here a perfect, with a nice pickle powder seasoning. The only dish that didn't work for us was the charred cabbage Caesar - while the dressing and other toppings were delicious, the cabbage was just too tough. We'll stick with the FANTASTIC wedge salad next time - so glad they kept that from Cove, only reason we didn't get it was to try something new. The best part of the meal was the appetizer - sautéd mushroom toast - really tasty! I don't recommend the Steak au poivre (a filet with sauce = supposed to be a classic French dish of pan-seared steak, traditionally filet mignon, crusted with coarsely cracked peppercorns and served with a rich, creamy pan sauce made from the pan drippings, cognac, and heavy cream.) - cut of meat was definitely not tender enough as filet should be, sauce was okay but not "au poive" & oddly it was served with traditional french fries which I found a mismatch - I would not order that again. Wife ordered the evening special Flounder - it was pretty good. We'll go back sometime & try some other things. Most people around us were ordering sandwiches, and they looked pretty amazing.
