I end up at Jason's Deli a few Sundays each year with a group of friends. We noticed that it tends to be on rainy/gloomy Sundays because of the warm soup, sandwich, etc options Jason's offers. I always get the same thing: Great Southwest Bowl. It always tastes great, with a variety of vegetables and toppings, a good portion of chicken, and the dressing. It's filling but balanced. Sometimes I also get a bowl of the free ice cream - though the taste and texture of the ice cream varies from visit to visit. Usually someone in the group gets a bowl and lets us know how it is on that day. With our larger group we typically combine a few tables in the middle of the seating area, which other groups/families will do too. The decor/mood is a bit high school cafeteria with the floors and dim lighting. I've also had catering from this location a few times and the order has always been correct and on time. Power was out in our neighborhood, so many others had the same idea to grab lunch here. This was my first time. I got the salad bar, which had lots of fresh options. Boyfriend ordered Reuben The Great with Corned Beef. That sandwich was loaded and huge! We paid a little over $40. The salad bar offered many choices of toppings, and the items seemed fresh. They also had a couple types of pasta salads, potato salads, etc. I wish they offered soup as part of the bar, but they do sell it as a side item. This was my first time in a Jasons deli and I was surprised with the layout and menu!! It felt like a Sweet Tomatoes or Soup Plantation, to an extent. The salad bar, to be specific! It was about $10 for the salad bar, which comes with two trips. Your first is the big plate they give you, then they give you a smaller one for your second go. You can plate yourself, so you control the portion sizes. We also ordered the Irish potato soup which I found to be good! I felt flavor lacking in both my dishes, especially the ranch on my salad. It was not as strong as typical ranches and it was clumpy and impossible to "drizzle." The free ice cream, YUM! There are no limits to how much you can get! It's more like a frozen yogurt though than a creamy, milk based ice cream. I still loved it though and got the swirl!! The place we huge with lots of seating! A booth hardly seated our party of 4 comfortably, but we made it work. The cashier who rang us up was very friendly and helpful, and a different cashier saw us leaving and said goodbye, thank you for coming have a nice day,etc! Got the Reuben Sandwich a recently. Corned beef didn't have much flavor & looked very pale colored which is odd. Sauerkraut was ok. Decent size sandwich. It's kind of an upscale place right? but the only side that is included is a tiny 4oz? Ruffles cheap old potato chips. C'mon really? Add in a small lemonade and it was like $18.50!!! Had I gotten a real side extra I'd be into the meal for over $21! Totally not worth it. I don't recall the salad bar being a 1 trip only rule. I went pretty light on my first trip and wanted a clean plate to use for a couple scoops of pasta salad. They were nice enough to give me a small plate but said it's one trip only. For 14.38 all in I don't think the value is there to justify me coming back again. When your main squeeze asks you out to lunch unexpectedly and picks you up, you go wherever they want.....okay, maybe YOU don't, but I do. Today my main squeeze wanted Jason's Deli, since we really only had an hour to eat and he had a hankering for a sammie (i.e. sammich, sandwich, you get my drift). It was pretty quiet in here for it being lunchtime, but luckily there was no line. We ordered our respective meals. I ordered the manager's special: half the smokey jack panini (smoked turkey breast, bacon, jalapeño pepper jack, guac, Roma tomatoes, Thousand Island dressing. Pressed within an olive oil basted New Orleans French Bread) with baked potato chips and a cup of the Irish Potato soup. My main squeeze ordered the BLT, regular chips and a cup of their chili. Seating was open and there was barely anyone there (which was nice). We took a seat, put our number in the number holder on the table and grabbed our drinks. Five minutes later our meals came out. I dug into my sammie to feel the bread was pretty soggy. Now I've had soggy bread due to too much dressing/condiments on the sammie, but this was beyond that. I'm not exactly sure what was "wet" in the sammie to make the bread soggy. Please note, not all the bread was wet, just a small section. I bit into non-soggy part of the sammie and it was OK. The guac was smooth and had notes of onion with each bite. The pepper jack cheese wasn't melted. Normally when I order a panini, I expect contents inside of it to be warm/hot. This wasn't the case. The bacon didn't taste like freshly cooked bacon, but more like deli bacon (i.e. the bacon that's heated up in the microwave and then becomes flimsy and rubbery). The soup was fair. It was pretty salty (which was disappointing). Adding the extra bacon and shredded cheddar cheese on top (that's how it arrived) was too much. I felt like it was a stew instead of soup. My main squeeze's BLT looked like a typical diner BLT, double stacked and pretty large. Bacon was crisp (unlike mine), lettuce and tomato were fresh. He said he enjoyed his meal. He also scarfed down the chili and said it was seasoned well. By the time we left, it was completely packed. There's a lot of options here for sandwiches, wraps, and paninis that sound really good. I opted for the Santa Fe chicken sandwich without Swiss cheese. I chose the baked chips and also got a side of fresh vegetables. It did take a bit of time to get our food; however, they looked very busy. One girl was taking calls and orders all while trying to package the food together. So, I can't fault them on that. The food was good and I enjoyed the sandwich, but it just was not big enough. Stopped in to see what options they had for Lent since it's a no meat day for me. Well they had a few, but I picked the Tuna Melt. This sandwich was loaded with tuna that for sure, and the bread used held up well. However it was a very bland taste, nothing exciting about it ( I know it's Tuna) . It comes with a pre-package pickle and chips. They also have signs up the Salad bar is back with a new reduced price point so I walked by just to look it over. There is quite a few options and next time the salad bar is my choice. The pick up line was very busy with several orders being picked up. My first enjoying Jason's Deli was for a work meeting. I was very happy to see that they had vegetarian options and promised myself that I would try lunch again soon. So when I finally had the opportunity I decided to place an online order for pickup. The ordering was easy to get through and I was quoted a very quick 10 minutes. Upon arriving, I walked to the pick up area and saw 2 different shelves so I was unsure where my order should be. The woman at the counter literally looked at me and didn't say a word. At all. An older gentleman walked in a few minutes after me and she smiled at him and ask him his name so she could check the status of his order. He was handed his meal and left. The fact I was totally looked past and not even acknowledged was very hurtful to me. It's been awhile since I've felt like this but I got my food and had to hold back tears. My bag of chips was opened, the guacamole was brown and room temperature and my wrap was lacking. The salad was a nice size and I loved it but everything else (especially the customer service) was very disappointing. I won't return to a place that I was made to feel invisible. read more

As I looked over the menu, I thought -- wow what a nightmare it must be to run Jason's Deli because that menu is long, long, long with so many options! And how to keep that delicious, organic salad bar full when people are constantly diving into it? As a customer though, it's an absolute WOW of a casual dining spot. Amazing selection of hot and cold sandwiches, most of which you can get in a stupidly affordable combo with soup, salad, or fruit. And when I say salad, I mean you get a "side order" sized plate to fill up on at the organic salad bar. You might just fill up on that side salad and box the sandwich for later as I did! My dining companion encouraged me to review the menu on the drive over, as it was so extensive it could be confusing. I'm glad I did! I ordered the Wild Salmon-Wich with the side salad ($9.29). The grilled salmon was moist with fresh avocado, and the toasted herb foccacia bread was so soft and fresh. My salad included: two types of potato salad, romaine lettuce, hummus, carrot sticks, sliced cucumbers, garlic toast, peas, cherry tomatoes, pasta salad, couscous, and two mini-muffins (cornbread and gingerbread). I definitely could have fit a bit more on my salad plate but was trying to keep in control. You can also just get the salad bar by itself ($7.89) as all you can eat which is still a great deal. They give you a bigger plate, and you can exchange it for a new one for every subsequent trip. To add soup, it's just 99 cents, and there isnt just one or two but a dozen to pick from! To top it off everyone gets a free soft serve (self serve) ice cream cup or cone at the end. Wow. Apparently I really am a simple girl who is won over by vegetables. I have always driven by a Jason's Deli both here and the Polaris location and never actually tried the food. Last night, I decided to go in and give it a try. I ordered the penne with meatballs. It didn't seem like anything special, I thought it would be better than what I expected. I paid like $7 for the entire meal. I waited a bit long too for a to go order of it. The only perk I see is you get free ice cream here, which I didn't have but looked cool. I'm pretty frustrated with this location--I have 30 minutes to eat and get back into class and I ordered, waited 15 minutes for my food and when I asked for an update (so that if it was going to take significantly more time I could get food elsewhere) and the guy with red hair pony tail and glasses was extremely rude and disrespectful and I had to wait another 2 minutes without any kind of an update just disrespectful grumbles. The only reason why I'm not giving 1 star is because I have been here before and not had the same experience. I don't understand why, if you guys were busy, there couldn't have been a disclaimer--hey we're on a ___ minute wait would you still like to order? I serve, so I do that regularly and it isn't hard.
