And I think that might have been our downfall. We went the breakfast route and started with a Cinnamon roll made right on the griddle. It created this crispy char that gave the roll more of a funnel cake texture. Unique,and the icing definitely enhances it (as it does most cinnamon rolls). Their special breakfast sandwich, "The Morning Wake-up" touts a "2x the size English Muffin" and they were not lying. This sandwich had cheese, multiple meats and vegetables, and I needed to take half of it home due to sheer size. What it didn't have... sauce. What it needed... sauce, syrup, aioli or something to lubricate all of those toppings. The breakfast potatoes on the side needed salt/seasoning/sauce, too, to be more to my liking. It was a similar experience with my wife's Reuben and the fries that she ordered; the sandwich had its moments, but it made me wish one of us got a burger like most of the other patrons.

Last interaction was to reach out asking if they had a certain bottle in stock. I thought it was a harmless request, asking a bourbon bar if they planned on getting a certain bourbon. They seemed offended I was asking. I was really hoping this could be a cool, casual place to sit and talk whiskey with folks, but the service left a bad impression.

I am also glad they are open on Monday when many of their competitors in Delaware are NOT! When I first thought of Bunns, I thought of old people, and this clearly contemporary with an updated menu! He explained he doesn't tip on tax and the alcoholic drinks but otherwise he gave an 18% tip...my brother and I went back and handed her another $10 in cash saying maybe we may have calculated it wrong (didn't) but wanted to be nice and handed her the cash...she proceeded to complain further and didn't offer any thanks. Sorry but if you're a waitress with that crappy of an attitude, you're probably in the wrong job. Very unprofessional and entitled.
