Be aware it will be FAST. Look at the order ahead of time if you're a picky eater/drinker. They run your appointment like clockwork, and you'll be in-and-out, gulping down cocktails, through the entire experience. Your two drinks are included (this year, anyway), and I'd honestly be surprised if you managed to have time for a third. Time zips by fast. That being said, because they do it this way, you essentially have constant service, there's "events" that happen at the end of your reservation time, (I don't want to spoil it, but cover your drink!), and then they kick you out. Service was friendly, though, and I saw the server make time to take group photos for all of the tables (including ours) with someone at the table's camera. (No bullshit "group photo" upsells here) It's kinda loud, though, and I wouldn't recommend this as a chill meet-up-and-socialize spot. (If you wanna talk, they have an addendum, Christmas-themed laid-back bar next door.) It's more of a "get blasted in the face by Christmas for an hour and then leave" experience. It's pretty loud, and talking can be a bit difficult over the music and constant interruptions (more drinks? Photos? Cute Christmas video montage?) But this works in its favor as it feels the most Christmas, over-the-top, and seasonal out of all the holiday bars I've ever been to. It also keeps it from feeling too crowded as reservations are required, so you for-sure have a seat and you don't have to stand forever in line to wait for drinks. I'd probably guesstimate that bar staff is making all of their seasonal drinks, constantly, and servers just pick one up to deliver. With the capacity in here, it would make sense. No idea what the bar is like the rest of the year; this is just a review for the Miracle pop-up which, again, is probably the best I've been to in the Midwest. Cincinnati, you're spoiled down here. (Sidenote, I was absolutely taken aback by their TV presentation on the wall. It's hard to describe, but it isn't just a projector showing a giant rectangle. It's specifically slotted into the holes in-between holiday decorations. Staff told me that had to hire special technicians to get it to show up that way and that's seriously a level of detail I am so amazed by.)

My husband ordered the Fried Fish Basket with a side of fries. I ordered the Chicken Sandwich, fried, with a side of tater tots. My husband's fries were cold and his fish tasted like old fryer oil. He said both the fries and fish had been cooked properly, and he could tell the fries would've been good if they had been warm, but the fish had the astringent taste of old oil. My chicken sandwich was overcooked and very, very dry. The tater tots were hot and pretty good. We needed some ketchup so I went up to the bar to get some (where it's kept) but couldn't get acknowledged by the two bartenders. I found some on another table and took it back to my table. We were starving so we ate the food, even though we didn't care for it. Although we did not finish it. Quite honestly, the food is over-priced for bar food served from a food truck. Below average food at that. We saw a few people that needed drinks and had gone up to the bar only to have to wait awhile while the bartenders socialized. These are the same things we noticed on previous visits to the bar and why we have only been here less than a half dozen times. While standing at the bar and waiting to pay we heard the bartender telling a customer that the new owners "only put in the little lounge area over there (while pointing to the couch) but otherwise have kept everything else the same." That's very unfortunate. The food truck needs to go or a new one hired and the bartenders need customer service training. It's unlikely we'll be back.

The owner, Boss Man, made sure to take care of his customers the way they've taken care of him for the past five years, and I must say...the community must treat this brother well! He and Lady Mercy didn't miss a trick: decorated tables with centerpieces, signature drinks, balloon sprays, a soundtrack right out of your 35+ childhood (more like 45+, but I'm not mad at walking in on a club playing some Luther), heated seating outside, AND free food fresh from the grill out back. I mean, damn. In the midst of all this grandeur (at a neighborhood bar, no less!), the staff STILL managed to give some crazy-good service. Nikki remembered my name, remembered my drink, and even came to get me out back when a table opened up inside. What's that? You're serving up dranks AND dope customer service? I'm a fan of her Maker's Lemonade, it's truly addictive. Nikki and Rina somehow manage to hold it DOWN behind and in front of the bar. Kudos to those ladies, and a prime example of why you tip your waitstaff. There were literally a hundred people in the place at one point, and these ladies weren't phased. Finally, the food. THE FOOD! Check out the pictures of the watermelon swan and other beautiful nibbles! Chef was on his game back on the grill from the minute we walked in, and it was clear they'd been at it for HOURS to get everything just right. This spot just keeps getting better for this reviewer.

I went on my way home from a long day at work, recommended by a friend. Frozen drink was great, Mac n cheese was fire. Wings Horrible. Dry and over cooked, no lemon pepper was on the wings. I spent 38 bucks. Never again. I will try to support one more time but will never get the wings again. read more

Some restaurants focus heavily on decor and leave a lot to be desired in terms of ambiance, the people, and the food. And in other restaurants, you walk in and feel as if you can stay there forever. This is one of those places. We stayed there for a while. Imagine being in Grandmom's living room with pictures on the wall and positive music playing in the background. That's Soul Secrets. The menu is big enough to make sure that everyone can find something to eat, but not so big that you will struggle to make a decision. From fried catfish and grits to French toast to salmon croquettes and the largest pancake on Earth, there is something for everyone. My niece ordered the French toast, and my sister ordered a special breakfast that came with a pancake, grits, eggs, potatoes, and sausage. I was still hungry from last night's meal, (and you can read about it in another review) so I just nibbled off of my sister's meal. The French toast came out first, and I could tell immediately that the chef knew what she was doing. The rest of the food came out, and again, they brought the largest pancake I've ever seen. My sister was treating us today, and I was glad that the menu prices were very reasonable. My niece said that the French toast was delicious, and she ate as much as she could. So often, the dining experience can be directly related to the person that greets you when you take a seat. Thank goodness we were greeted by Melinda. She has one of those energies and personalities that makes you feel as if she has been in your family for years. Funny and friendly, but at the same time, dedicated to making sure that you have a good experience. Again, I felt like I was at someone's home rather than in a restaurant. She called me a "troublemaker," which means that somehow she was seeing the 20-year-old version of me instead of the person that I am today. lol So here's the summary.
