Finally made it. Baby K had mentioned arcades, and we happened to be nearby. It's huge, with several sections (and the missing lamented hot dog area in the middle, soon to be something else?) Small bowling alleys, pinball, and our target, video games. Bars in each area, and apparently food available though we didn't see anyone eating mid-afternoon on a weekend. And the cost? Nothing. Sure, they want you to have a beer and order other stuff, but they are not pushy about it. I asked at the bar how to get change for the games, and he said "just push start, they're free." We played a lot. Many nostalgic games for me, and Baby K liked Pacman and Defender. A wide variety, and there was always something open. I imagine at peak times you have to wait, but no issues, again mid-afternoon on a weekend, warm spring day. I was thirsty and bored, so got a drink. Ginger ale. No charge. I did tip, but seriously, we were there an hour and could have walked out without spending a penny. We'll definitely be back. read more

If you're an adult who is young at heart, or nostalgic for yesteryear, this place will be right up your alley. It's also connected to Pins Mechanical so it is just up the alley (heh). They have wall-to-wall arcade games, that are completely free-play, and a handful of other activities (big "beer" pong, a ring toss game, a giant LightBrite...) to keep the fun going and going and going... We checked this place out with kids in the afternoon and then returned as just adults that night. To be honest, it can get crowded and therefore was more fun without the kids (b/c the drinks started flowing...) but either way everyone will have a great time. Unfortunately the rules aren't really enforced and there were kids there until at least 9 pm when we left. Always packed!!!!! Pizza place next door is way high priced but its ok i like it! Its always fun but most games are broken when i go smh.

I'll start by saying this is honestly a really cool concept, and the layout of the location is fantastic. Now for the 1 star rating. I have been to this location 3 separate times over the past 6 months, and without fail I can never find a working arcade game. There's a really cool-looking area with TVs and game controllers hooked up, where you can play old school Nintendo games. I tried every single available controller tonight, went as far as making sure they were all plugged in correctly, and literally none of them worked. Also, only 1 of the 3 ski ball machines worked. It is extremely disappointing to go to a place that boasts their arcade games for free, only for none of said games to work. I think it would be slightly less frustrating if employees put up signs to let patrons know when the machines are out of service. I tried to go up to ask about the games, but there seemed to be only 2 people working there tonight, and I couldn't get their attention. More on that later in the review. I was aware there was a no kids policy after 8 PM. We arrived tonight around 8:30, and there were at least 3-4 kids still there. I don't think this policy is necessarily enforced. The thing that really bothered me though was that my sister and her husband tried for a solid 15 minutes tonight to order us drinks tonight. There were 2 guys at the bar, and they completely ignored my sister and her husband as they tried multiple times to get their attention. Apparently one guy behind the bar eventually told them that he couldn't serve alcohol, but he then did nothing to alert his colleague that 2 customers wanted to buy drinks. The other guy ended up serving another couple that came after them instead. My sister and her husband were understandably annoyed, and we left. TLDR: Cool concept, but easily more than half of the games available don't work, no kids after 8 PM policy is definitely not enforced, and on top of that, the drinks are crazy overpriced and it's a chore to even get an employee's attention to order one. Gave this place 3 solid tries. Will definitely never be back. Seriously, don't waste your time. read more

This is a great place to go to have entertainment and beverages! We have always been very fond of 16 bit. There is mini bowling with comfortable couches and a very clear scoreboard to see where you are on the leaderboard. As far as beverages, they have lots of good beer on tap but also have an aMazing cocktail list! I got a Carrie Fisher which was delicious and came with a rock candy swizzle stick. Doesn't get any better than that! The only reason I gave four stars on this particular visit was because there was a mandate for masks and most people were wearing masks when not eating or drinking. I feel really bad that I recommended this place to my friend for her birthday. Almost everything was broken - either not allowing you to begin playing or joystick sticking so bad that it wasn't even fun to play. We left after a few minutes to go elsewhere. Note: there is a sign to let employees know if machines are broken, but the sheer amount of broken machines made it evident that they either had an extremely rough Sunday or they simply don't do regular walk-throughs. read more

This was a fun stop on a Sunday after brunch. The only downside were a bunch of toddlers running around. Apparently the hours we were there were prime family hours. I had a decent IPA called Elvis Juice and the person I was with had a nicer glass of bourbon. I got my fill of dig dug, frogger, and space invaders. He spent most of his time playing asteroids. It reminded me of 1983 when my family got an Atari 2600. Graphics have come so far. I played a half dozen games of centipede which I remember spending hours playing as a kid, never made it past the third level this time. I used to get to level 20! Fun time. read more

Unbelievably glad that we stumbled across this place during our short trip in Columbus. After a long day of sightseeing, my boyfriend and I wanted to go to a laidback bar for the evening. We ended up finding this gem, which wasn't too far from our hotel in Dublin! First of all, this place is HUGE! There were a ton of people at this bar, but it wasn't bad at all due to the vastness of the building. The arcade games are free and there are so many to choose from. I asked the bartender where the change dispenser and she told me it was free and to enjoy! Amazing!! Pac-Man, Dig Dug, and Skeeball were without a doubt my favorite. Most people were pretty considerate when it came to sharing the games - there's always a few people who hog the machines, but what can ya do?! As for the drinks, the prices were pretty standard. Their featured cocktails all seemed way too sweet, so we ended up going with vodka cranberries and rum and Cokes. We had a blast at 16-Bit, and we will absolutely return on our next visit to Columbus! read more

Y'all...this place is so cool!!! Barcades are all the rage now. In every city you go to, you shouldn't have a problem finding a bar that has a bunch of arcade games/pinballs/video games. 16 Bit Bar is one of those many, but may be one of my favorites that I have come across so far. We were stuck in a snowstorm and were in need of something to do. Luckily, this place was very close by! Let me just give this place 5 extra stars for having a free parking garage next door, and relieving what could have been a big headache for us that night. They are also connected to Pins Mechanical, where there are more games, bowling, etc. A few things about this place that are unique here are their movie area (with bean bags, couches and a movie playing), console area (multiple video game consoles with 50+ games on it), and their drinks...they have a Slush Puppie machine which really took me back to middle school...except you can mix and match different types of alcohol in there :) All of the games are free which is really nice. The drinks aren't bad, about $6. I'm not a huge fan that they let kids in here until a certain time, but after around 8 I think it is adults only. Great place to go to if you are in the Columbus area looking to feel nostalgic! read more

SO FUN! & what a cute idea! I absolutely love that this has a more adult Dave & Buster's feel to it. Especially with all the retro games and arcades! Only bummer was that the ski-ball machines were closed down, probably for risk of COVID and the difficulty of keeping the balls sanitary, ect. We did see someone walking around sanitizing the gaming controllers, so we figured the ski-balls might not be so easy to quickly sanitize. I LOVE that there's a HUGE section of free games! There's also games for purchase on the other side, along with miniature bowling (which I had never seen!) Their happy hour is actually pretty good too! M-F until 7pm $2 off drafts! I forget the other specials, because all we cared about was the drafts. Other bummer is that there's not food, BUT... they do allow food to be brought in. I was also told by some friends that they usually have food trucks right outside when it's nice out and they keep the garage doors open so people can come and go as they please (which sounds SO NICE!) Was a bit surprised that on a Friday night they weren't busier. We showed up at about 5:45-6pm-ish and it really wasn't busy at all. We were able to freely walk around and have access to a bunch of games and arcades. Would definitely recommend this place! read more

This place is so fun and nostalgic! All video games are free to play and there are so many to explore. I was thrilled to have found my childhood favorite Burger Time in the line up! We arrived scoped out the scene and then went across the street for ramen prior to then closing. Let me be clear - I LOVE 16-Bit and Pins Downtown. They have fantastic drinks, great entertainment, and a chill atmosphere. I do not love that the Dublin location of 16-Bit and Pins allow children before 8 pm. I don't mind sharing arcade games with kids over 10 - they get in the zone and are generally aware when there is a line behind them. I have an issue with toddlers everywhere. They run, they scream, they play games and make the happy hour experience miserable. Parents treat 16-Bit like a playground where their kids and run wild. I was cut-off in line to play skee-ball twice by children under 4 and the parents didn't notice they were an inconvenience. It takes me the same amount of time to play 3 games of skee-ball as it does for a 4-year-old to play one game. They throw overhanded and I was afraid of getting hit in the face or hitting a kid as I pulled my arm back to roll a ball. I get that I sound nit-picky and heartless - but this was the situation at all the gaming and seating areas. Unfortunately, I have had a similar experience at the Pins Dublin location where toddlers clog up the lanes and there are kids everywhere so it takes even longer to get a lane. I understand that this development is in Dublin, but they really need to decide if they are a bar or a family space. Some of the old-school arcade games are violent and there was no parental supervision for the pack of 6-year-olds playing mortal combat next to me. The R-rated MTV music videos are a nice touch above the game consoles. Reasons why this location doesn't suck: The Dublin 16-Bit is in the New Bridge Park Development and is connected to Pins Mechanical. Now you can play free arcade games while waiting 3 hours to bowl! The spaces are cohesive and have plenty of seating niches and activities. The draft list appears to be the same at each bar but the specialty cocktails different. It looks like they may open a restaurant in-between the two spaces? If so, that would be clutch. There is a food truck parked outside Thursdays-Saturdays, otherwise bring your own food or order take-out/delivery. They have a solid happy hour until 7 pm during the week if you are willing to trade-off cheaper drinks for screaming children. I would only come here after 8 pm when it becomes 21+ or brave the happy hour for the good deals (drink extra to tolerate toddlers), then have dinner at one of the restaurants in the development. If you are 21+, save yourself from frustration and visit the downtown locations of 16-Bit and Pins. The perks of the Dublin location is that 16-Bit and Pins are in the same building and there are great restaurants in walking distance. The downfall is toddlers. read more

Awesome! This place is huge! Lots of space, tables and even couches to chill. Go next door to pins mechanical and bowl, bocce, etc. You can use the same tab. Could have used more stouts, there was 1 in about 30 beers. Also there were many steps and they werent all very visible. This 16 bit is very nice, lots of games, no bumping into people. I even got to play a console game, they had many compared to Cleveland. I would visit columbus just to come here. read more

I'm loving the 16-Bit in Dublin! The space is larger than the one downtown. There's lots of seating with sectioned off areas that have couches and TV's. As soon as you walk in the door, there's a giant Lite Bright!! One of the coolest things about this location is that it is connected to Pins, and you can take your drinks between both places. The best part about this location is the spaced out arcade games. It doesn't feel nearly as cramped as the downtown location. There's a good size patio with fire pits and TV's. You can't go wrong with the signature 16-Bit drink menu (hello alcoholic slush puppies) but they have plenty of draft/canned beer as well. I'll be the first to admit that I didn't rush here after it opened because I thought it would be basically the same experience as the one downtown. It definitely holds its own with the amount of space, fun elements like the Lite Bright, and free parking right across the street. I will definitely be back. read more

The location is fantastic. The space is much more open, has more seating and you don't have to stand on top of anyone while you wait for a game. There's a nice selection of games as well. There were at least five that were broken while we were there but there are still plenty of options. Plus they're free! We were surprised to arrive close to 7pm and see children... everywhere. It wasn't a Sunday so we weren't expecting to see kids. From other reviews, it seems kids are allowed at this location until 8pm every day. Expect the place to really clear out once the kids have to leave. It meant a nice and more relaxed environment (more open games, more room to walk around). It's good to have another free option to bring kids to if you're a parent though. read more

Went here with a friend yesterday. We we're getting drinks every 30 minutes or so, and enjoyed them. The bartenders were nice. However, when I went to close my tab about an hour and a half before close, they told me it was already closed. I was confused, and asked to see it to make sure they got tipped. Of course, they took a 25% tip, and told me, "it's been happening all night, we're not sure why." I was very, very confused, and felt like money has been stolen. It was all very suspicious. I went back to my friend and said, "you might want to check out your tab, to make sure they didn't steal anything from you." Sure enough, his tab was closed with a 25% tip. He asked them why, and they told him a different reason, coming from the same bartender. "The system went down earlier and closed everyone's tabs." At least get the story straight if you're going to blatantly steal from people... The reason I did one star instead of two stars, is because our last experience here was extremely unwelcoming. We came in two hours before close, got one drink, didn't even finish them until they told us, "you have to leave, we're closing." We told them, you don't close for another hour on google, or else we wouldn't have come! They told us to finish our drinks and get out. We were just minding our own business, chatting on a couch, and they kicked paying customers out! After multiple tries of visiting this place, we will not be coming back. read more

I was so frustrated by my recent experience here. I stopped by the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to get a drink with a few friends from work. Everyone wanted to play a few games and just relax before the stress of the holiday. It wasn't too too busy and we were all able play a few games and some of us even wandered over to Pins next door to bowl. What was so frustrating was that it was difficult just getting the attention of a bartender. I can understand having to wait at times but it wasn't nearly as busy as I've seen it before. When I finally got help the bartender wearing a pacman crop top literally rolled her eyes at me like making three drinks was the worst thing she had to do that day. She just seemed annoyed that I was there. Fun games, easy parking and the drinks weren't even that bad but the service I got just seemed so rude. Hopefully your experience is better. Edit: A company rep named Jordan was kind in offering a gift card to return and give them another shot, but I am not willing to come back in to be so dismissed by the same person again. read more

I have been here multiple times in the evening, but this visit was the first time on a Saturday afternoon. Kids and families were having fun. There was even one birthday group:) Games are free except for pin ball, ping pong, and bowling next door at Pins. The old arcade games are my style of fun. Good beer and old style arcade games - an incredible combo. My husband and I were in Columbus for the weekend, and rather than paying for parking in downtown Columbus, we decided to go to the 16-Bit in Dublin. We also went to Dublin the day before and really enjoyed the vibe of it, so going back wasn't an issue. First, I got a beer of some sort. I don't really remember the name, but it was some sort of porter or stout. It was pretty good. My husband opted for the Carrie Fisher. He said it liked it, though it was a bit too sweet for his liking. Overall, the drinks were a bit expensive, but no where near what you might pay elsewhere. My reason for 4 stars is because of the ambiance. While it is a really, really cool idea, it is super loud, which can make it sort of difficult to enjoy your time here. It seems like a place that's always filled with people (though why wouldn't it be - it's awesome), so the chatter is really loud. Additionally, there's music playing and it's kind of hard to hear the person next to you with everything that's going on. On maps it says "kid friendly" and my (very well manners) kiddos were super excited to check it out. We walked in at 8:06 and kids were everywhere. I went up to order a drink and was asked to leave because I had kids with me and kids are not allowed after 8. I get that rules need to be followed, but it's very hard for kids to understand why we were kicked out while others were allowed to stay. If coming with kids, make sure to come early. read more

First barcade experience was straight out of a we dream for this 90s coder-girl with sweet sweet nostalgia that I missed my peak generation. There was a nice blend of new twists on classic games such as magnetic 2-player pong, Nintendo TV stations, and upright arcade games. I got the famous "game over" drink with 9 liquors and it did not disappoint. I'm a notorious light weight but for $16 I was set for the night. Since the Dublin location has free parking a-plenty I went next door to pins and paid $5 to play duckpin bowling ... it'll make you feel like you're living in a time of speak easys and mechanical happiness. I'd recommend this place and can't wait to check out other locations to see how they differ. read more
