After having my second baby- mama almost NEVER gets to go out anymore! lol last time I went to this location jt was Ram Brewing... years ago! Decided to meet friends here on a Friday night for the Xmas bar. At 9 o'clock at night it was already SO loud we couldn't hear each other talk. We go upstairs and it's packed everywhere- but there is nobody on the dance floor ,and people are lounging around playing on their cell phones!! It was so bizarre. The vibe was not it. Way too loud, nobody dancing. Strange music choices. In terms of drinks- it was a bit overpriced for what you get. I tried three of the Christmas themed beverages and they were made well, but at one point, something a little weird happened: I ordered an espresso martini for my friend and the bartender handed me one that was premade and placed behind the bar. Thought that was weird. The other drinks were made to order. Lots of cute photo ops and fun decor but maybe not a place to meet friends for conversation! Still a fun time overall, but won't be back.

This bar is so much fun. The Christmas pop up is great. It was very packed. At 10:00 pm a line starts I order to get into the club. It's best to enter the club before 10 pm. This bar is great because people of all ages hang out at this place, not just the youngsters. Everyone there has a good time. The bar has a 70s vibe. You will see pics of Farrah Fawcett and Burt Reynolds.

A really cool 70's "bar"/club with two dance floors. A lot of security around. Their entire food menu and drink menu also follows this 70's theme - including multiple sizes of the "Champagne of Beers", Miller High Life, and mix Miller High Life drinks. No one was dancing when I was here, but the ambiance was still fantastic. I'd imagine it might get a bit louder and hectic if people are dancing. PROS: -The ambiance is killer. They knocked this one out of the PARK. If you're looking for a 70's-style bar, every inch of this place delivers. From the disco dance floor to the flat-screen TVs pretending to be old TVs while playing 70s clips -Super cool food options. You could, potentially, make an entire meal out of eating here, but I think most people will find these meals to be more up the "I've been drinking and want a snack" vein. Things like bowls of Honey Nut Cheerios, "Restaurant" TV dinners, and more. The entire food menu made us smile. -Really unique experience in general. I've seen beers here I've never seen, and I've seen cocktail "ideas" I'll probably never see again. (Miller High Lifes drizzled in hot sauce????) -Their "Shaggin' Wagon" drink tastes like a Moscow Mule with Mezcal, and it was a table favorite. CONS: -The majority of the restrooms are located upstairs. If you're on the large first floor area, this means trekking upstairs to pee. There's a single-stall, all-gender restroom on the first floor. -A few drinks are only available during daylight hours - at least that's what the bartender told us. These off-limits evening drinks aren't marked on the menu, so it was a bit confusing what we were "allowed" to order.

We were looking for lunch on a Saturday during the buckeye game, walked by GNJB, saw it was finally opened, and gave it a shot! We split their version of a happy meal and it was so cute. A burger, fries, and toy. Our toy was a mini rubix cube. So cute. The burger was actually good. I will admit, I was surprised. I wasn't expecting much but the meat itself tasted fresh. I ordered a drink in a light up disco ball. It was fine, but I more so wanted the cup. The bar/club itself stays very true to the theme. They have an upstairs with an outdoor area that was spacious and cute. Definitely check it out!

Good Night John Boy replaced Seesaw in the Short North. I went on a Thursday when they had trivia on the main floor. The upstairs was rented out for a college event. The food is bar food. Trivia was fun, and service was great.

I was a bit worried as it looks more like a night club from the outside, but the food was fantastic! We ordered the popcorn chicken, the Shanghai noon burger, mama Chien's dumplings, drunken noodles, a cobra old fashion and a local beer (paper cloud?). The chicken had some unique seasoning and the drunken noodles were phenomenal; the noodles were giant and cooked perfectly and the dish has some unique touches like pea pods that you don't usually find. You order at the bar, but even with that the service was great! A server brought out an herb for us to try that is in many of their dishes. They checked in on us several times and even refilled water, which you get yourself at the back. The customer base was very diverse. I'm guessing the place may turn more club-like later at night, but for dinner it's a perfect family restaurant.

We were buying drinks for friends, and the bartender asked to see their IDs. Totally understandable and not a problem at all. The problem was how it was handled. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude from the start. When I said she could bring her ID up, I was told it had to be on a separate tab because she wasn't standing with me. Again, rules are rules, but there was a noticeable difference between enforcing a policy and making customers feel like they're inconveniencing you. The food was solid as always, but the overall experience wasn't great this time around. I'd still come back for the food, but hopefully the service is better next visit.

I really, really, really love the drink menu of the Alibi. Like, a lot. Their visual chart is a…read moregodsend for cocktail explorers, and all of the drinks came out delicious and exactly as described. It's so creative, and the drinks are really the stellar stand out here. However, the atmosphere of those drinks is what gives me pause when thinking about coming back. The limited table situation, tiny cramped space, and loud music means that it doesn't feel particularly relaxing. People are constantly brushing up against you (even at 5PM), and holding a conversation at a normal distance is nearly impossible. NOTE: This place is covered in dust. No shade to the ownership as it doesn't appear to be anywhere near food prep areas (it's on the decor, on/around shelving, all over the faux plants, etc.), but if you're someone who's sensitive to dust, this is probably not a good fit. PROS: -I loooooooove how they've done their drink menu. As someone who is still exploring the potential of cocktails, their nerdy "chart" that places all of their drinks on a sweet/bitter and alcohol-forward/approachable visual chart is SUCH a help. As such, everything I ordered was absolutely amazing for me. I knew exactly what to expect from a drink because of its position on the chart, and it delivered. -Their drinks are really unique. Aqua faba? Fat washed alcohols? Lollipops or toasted marshmallows as garnishes? Super cool. Don't let some of the weirder descriptions creep you out of trying them. -All of their drinks were delicious. Everything I ordered was exactly as described. I often go places where the taste is barely related to its namesake, but they were entirely on-point here. CONS: -I'm not sure if someone called off that night as other reviewers are in love with the service, but our service was really really slow. No real rapport with the staff; just stating the name of a drink as they rushed past and then they were off to try to clean a table or take someone else's order. The drinks they made were great, but this isn't somewhere we'd go if we were in a hurry. -The pictures do not accurately convey how small this place is. Like, it's small. I'd guess less than 1000 square feet. My apartment is bigger by a lot. This isn't necessarily an issue, but it means people pile up quickly as they wait for seating (there's like 4/5 tables and then bar seating). The human walkways are small enough that the bartenders and other guests will brush against you a lot - even while seated. -I get the vibe they were going for here, but with the smaller space, I think a lot of the potential decor options had to "go" in order to fit more humans. It's giving me hardcore The Hearth Room (in Cincinnati) vibes, and I think it could honestly pull it off if it simply had more space. The "relaxed, sophisticated bourbon bar" doesn't quite come through as well when things are so focused on simply fitting in more bodies. -It's loud AF. Like, really, really loud. Between all the people and the blasting pop music, it required leaning into someone's ear in order to speak at normal volumes. We'd regularly have to pause the conversation if something in the music was building to a drop. This is not a place I'd take someone I wasn't very very comfortable with because it really requires being in someone's space to talk. -There's a single all-gender toilet here for everyone in the establishment. It's basically a revolving door of people in and out of it. The door auto-closes, however, so it's really difficult to figure out if it's open or not. There was usually a queue of people waiting in front of the door.
