I had a great dining experience at Townhall. Their buffalo wraps was delicious then I got a salmon for an entree. I thought the flavors was delicious plus the cauliflower mashed potatoes and asparagus. Then I ended with the cookie skillet which was delicious! Service was great and quick. Decent overall. I liked that they had a ton of options for different dietary situations. The servers were good, pretty attentive and gave me good suggestions. I got the hibiscus limeade with the build your own bowl (rice, brisket, spicy broccoli, vinaigrette, charred pineapple). I found the brisket to be a little dry and not so flavorful. The charred pineapple was a little bland looking overall. But overall it was pretty decent. I would try the steak over the brisket the next time. The chocolate chip cookie dough was okay. Disappointing. I came here on a Friday morning for a simple breakfast -- eggs and bacon and toast, and some coffee. It's the exact same thing I did twice before earlier this year, at the same time. For some reason this morning the server told me they can't do breakfast. I said I had done it right here (same TownHall) on a Friday morning not long ago. They didn't seem to care, or "let me check with a manager" or anything, just 'nah.' I ended up getting something I didn't want (hamburger), which was like "oh well." At this point I'm just trying to have a good time, enjoy the coffee at least, have a sunny day .. I tried to ask about the breakfast thing once more on the way out, but they weren't helpful. Just, "Saturdays and Sundays." Oh, and a fun bonus, somehow it all cost ten dollars more than the breakfasts I had been enjoying (about $30 vs $20). read more

Another awesome find on High street! A couple disclaimers - the vibe here is super fun college house music with a DJ behind the bar but doesn't allow kids under 21 unless with families. Also while food is ranked highly here it is all well researched, healthy, and atypical American pub. I am so glad we tried it but not at all what we thought. Server was one of the kindest I've ever had. I'm starting to wonder if phenomenal service is the norm in Columbus. All in all fun place to go, but know what you're going to before you go. Came in late for a bite to eat and someone handed me a menu and told me to wait. Then another person took my menu and said it's too late for that menu. Then another person gave me a limited menu and told me to wait, then another person told me not to wait there, to go over there. Finally, someone behind the bar said I could sit anywhere. Yikes! Almost left after the confusion but luckily for Townhall it was raining so I was a captive audience. The sandwich and sweet potato fries were just okay, came out after a long wait, and the seating was strange--uncomfortable high stools on an oddly shaped bar. This place is pretty mid. Terrible at something and really good at others. Bowls in general are great, burgers and sandwiches are usually a bad choice. Magic noodles are inedible. Menu and descriptions make it feel like they're grifting on health trends. A bit more pricing than slimmer to other options right down high street. Our dining experience was fine. The food (two veggie burgers, one grilled cheese with tomato soup and an entree salad) was good, fairly priced and the service was timely and friendly. However, when we were informed (and verified independently) by a knowledgeable friend about controversies involving the ownership group, we have decided to stay away in the future. When the owner pleaded guilty to felony attempted strangulation of a woman, he lost our business. There's no place for violence, sexual or otherwise, against women. read more

Clearly a popular place in Short North, went for a slightly early dinner and ended up with a very decent salad, loaded with nuts alongside the steak I ordered it with. Inside is loud with plenty of tables and bar space, outside is a long and very sunny patio on the street, service is attentive. However minus one star as the hostess seated me in full sun and didn't seem to care, I know I could have asked to be moved - virtually every other table was empty - but instead I opted to finish my salad and go elsewhere for more food. read more

During my trip to Columbus I was looking for a spot to grab some good food and watch sports. I stumbled upon TownHall and I'm lucky I did because this restaurant is amazing! My friend and I arrived on a Wednesday night around 8:30pm and were seated immediately. It wasn't packed when we came in but it did get busier as the night went on. The ambiance was very nice and lively. There were people hanging out, having a good time, eating, drinking at the bar and watching sports on the TVs. I love the interior and decor as well. There was wood everywhere and it felt very rustic. Our server was super nice, friendly and helpful. It was our first time and she was able to walk us through the menu to help us make our decisions and answered any questions we had. We helped us get started with a few of their cocktails which were great. We ordered their keto chicken wings to start as well. For the main course, we ordered their Wagyu steak with shrimp and sushi. Their steak was mouthwatering and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Each bite was very good. Their sashimi and sushi rolls were very delectable and really fresh in my opinion. We also ordered a fresh pressed juice and smoothie because our minds were blown seeing a dinner spot and somewhat of a sports bar have juices & smoothies for us to order at night. It was very cool. We ended the meal with their butter cake and skillet cookie with ice cream. Both were very decadent and sweet. Their butter cake is a popular dessert amongst their customers and I can see why. It tasted amazing and I'm glad I was able to indulge in it. Overall, my first experience at TownHall was fantastic and I'm glad I found out about it. I'm looking forward to visiting again the next time I'm in Columbus. Was in town for a work conference and was staying at the Moxy upstairs. Myself and my coworkers decided to stop here before we headed back to our rooms for a nightcap. It's located directly beneath The Moxy, so it was the perfect spot. It was pretty poppin in here honestly for a Monday night. Inside here is pretty big, and we even came in the next day, too, but just briefly. It definitely seems like a cool spot to hang out at. A bar slash restaurant slash coffee spot slash whatever! It's definitely kind of a chameleon type of spot which is really cool! I ordered an espresso martini to end my night with and it was delish. I tried to steak bites which I ordered medium rare and they came out extremely well done and the rest of the dish was somewhat flavorless with little to no seasoning. My kids had the kids cheeseburgers and fries and did not like them, which is unheard of. They like everything. The wine selection was well thought out and good in their genre. They have a lot of healthier options but don't skip on the flavor one bit. I tried the Nashville chicken sandwich and truffle fries and both were delicious and well seasoned. I also tried the sweet potato skins and the keto wings with chimichurri rub on it. The wings coating was a bit grainy but good nonetheless. And lastly I tried Korean bbq flatbread and it was to die for! I only ate a slice in the restaurant and put the rest in my hotel refrigerator. This time we dined on the Steak Bites shareable as a first course. Not bad. By virtue of going on a Thursday, we stumbled on their $15 burger special which included a beer or milkshake. With all due respect to the tasty burger and fries, the peanut butter honey butter shake was a treasure and maybe the best thing we had. Spouse ended up getting the Quesabirria tacos. Usually the consomme is the X factor in a birria dish, and this was no different. We weren't totally enthralled with it, but the queso that came with it was so good that I kept dipping my fries in it.
