DUBLIN OHIO LOCATION What a horrible sub shop! In town for work (11/18/25). Ordered a pick to meats turkey and spicy ham, with pepper jack cheese, bacon, spicy aioli , cucumbers, banana peppers. Cup of lasagna soup and deli pickle to be delivered to my hotel. I ended up taking the half sandwich back to the store. As I mentioned, there wasn't a lot of steak on the first half either, but the second half was just ridiculous. They gave me another HALF sandwich to replace the part I brought back in. Soo yal Im famished (ha ha ha). I drove around to different places trying to figure out what I want to eat. I guess I settled on DiBella's Old Fashioned Submarines. Fun Fact# I worked at 7 subways when I was younger so I love sandwiches (lol). Upon entering, I asked the employees what they recommended. They gave serval suggestions. But it was the Cowboy that caught my eye. Mainly because someone else ordered it (I.e., it was on the grill being cooked) and it looked so lovely! So, I decided to try a 10inch Cowboy. This sounds so bad lmao (smh). Anyways, the Cowboy was on a nice plain bread. It came with chicken, thick bacon, cheddar cheese, & bbq sauce. I added mayo,tomato, black olives, onions, & pickles... My verdict (sad face) it wasn't the best. I mean it wasn't the worst either. The bbq sauce drowned out the chicken, which doesn't have much flavor to it anyways. Also, the out layer of the bread was a lil tough. I would rather have a nice soft bread (inside & out) to help with biting and chewing. These two things (I.e., the sauce & bread) just made the sandwich mediocre. I will say, the bacon was thick and the veggies were great. Also, the service was amazing as well. so now I understand why they only have a 2.0 star rating. I interviewed for this company the district manager that interviewed me. I felt was not interested in interviewing me. I really felt like it took a turn when I brought up my ex partner. he told me that they would contact me either way if I got the job or not either a phone call or an email I have not received either. A standard submarine shop with no frills or above expected options. $20 for 2 meals and that included a small and medium sized sub, chips and drink. Unlike some other upper end subs shops, they are stingy on their produce that they enhance your sandwich with. Very light on the lettuce, onion and even condiments. Subs are well packed with innards which is great considering they range from $7 for small to $14 for large size. For a medium sub and cookie it was $14. I had the Cowboy in multigrain. Bread was fresh, soft, flavorful. The chicken was well stocked in the sub with plenty of oddly sadly spicy barbecue sauce (should have been warned as I don't like spicy) and cheese along with some thick cut somewhat chewy somewhat crispy bacon. Cookie was the same you'd buy at most any other sub shop- soft enough, tasted decent. Chocolate chip walnut flavor. Was better than Subway but on same level as Firehouse et. al. read more

In Columbus for my daughters Ohio State Graduation. We decided last minute to have a party on the deck at our hotel. On one of the busiest weekends, OS Graduation and the Derby, DiBella's staff was amazing. They without hesitation took our order and were very helpful setting up the order based on our needs. This was our first visit here a typical sub place you get to pic all your toppings and meats if you don't see one of the many choices they have to choose from. I like that you can pick out your choice of bread also . They had everything, Italian, and sesame seed. Then the menu had several subs to select we had The Godfather and I had the Dagwood. The subs were freshly made to order hot and delicious. We also had three homemade cookies a chocolate chip , oatmeal raisin . And macadamia nut one also . In general, I really enjoy the bread here. I decided to order the Phili cheese steak with provolone and raw peppers. They gave me cooked peppers instead, which gave my sandwich an odd sour taste. The parking is limited and can be a challenge. There is a good amount of seating and the line moves quickly since the restaurant is staffed well. read more

I usually order the Buckeye, which has since changed names to Uncle Louie. Being pregnant and avoiding deli meats, I went with the Cowboy this time, and I think I found a new favorite! It has grilled chicken, cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce, and thick-cut bacon on it. Plus you can still add all your other favorite toppings, like LTO, etc. When they say "thick-cut" bacon, they are not kidding. These were the thickest slices of bacon I've ever seen and so tasty! There's a lot about this place that puzzles me. Order placement, line succession, ingredient selection, even the menu design - I found virtually every aspect of DiBella's to be awkward and unintuitive. The sandwiches themselves are pretty decent, and the house-made bread is surprisingly stellar, but the experience leaves a lot to be desired. The space is attractive, and split lengthwise separating the serving and seating areas. It's vaguely old-timey, with an ancient-looking etched ceiling, suspended lamps, and ceiling fans. The booths are ample, the prep counter is crowned with red neon, and floating above it all is the authentic scent of continuously baking bread. But when I started my placing order, the problems began. #1. Who do I speak to? There must have been eight employees behind the counter, but it wasn't at all clear who was at bat. Most didn't make eye contact, including the lady who was at the register, until prompted. I went for the Godfather, a classic Italian combination of Genoa salami, capicola, and spicy ham, while the guy wanted a club and settled for a meatball sub. #2. Why? Because they DON'T HAVE BACON! How can any self-respecting sandwich shop go into business without bacon? It boggles the mind. Anyway, I worked my wife skills a little and at this point he was just as eager to try his second favorite, and I was still pretty excited to try mine. We were each handed a slip of paper for our order, with no instructions what to do next. #3. So, um, what now? We mulled around a bit until I worked up the courage to ask someone else, who honestly seemed to simply take pity on me and began to build my sandwich. I went with the "everything" style bread, though you really can't miss. The dough is absurdly fresh and flavorful, and packed with such perfect chewiness that it continues to stand out no matter your toppings. Unfortunately, that brings me to pet peeve #4. What exactly is the thinking behind the listing of toppings on the menu? I don't mean the possibilities, I mean the actual list. First they list 7 sauces/dressings, then 7 vegetables, then 4 cheeses, and then way at the bottom, 2 more sauces/dressings. What, are the Buffalo Hot Sauce and and DiBella's Famous Oil Dressing so very different from the BBQ Sauce and the Ranch Dressing? Deep thoughts, people. Work out the kinks and this could be a worthwhile lunch spot. There's plenty of space, it's quick, and it's cheap. That bread is first-class, and the service (when it was given) was fast and friendly. But most importantly, it was far from a sub-par submarine. read more

I'll preface by saying that I may just not be an overwhelming fan of DiBella's to begin with but the service this go around at this location was not great. I ordered the Chicken Philly on an "Everything" seasoned roll. It was OK enough but a little bland for my tastes needing some salt or some spices IMO. I think I ordered wrong though so that's on me. I should've got what Sal C. had...I'm sure I would've loved it. I do really like Grandma DiBella's cookies though....the oatmeal are pretty solid and the chocolate chip are religious. The reason for the 2.5 stars was the service. It looked like there may have been three employees working, one of which was in the dining room on his phone on break, I'm guessing. The other two I had any contact with didn't seem to care that I was there, as if I was an inconvenience, but made my food and shuffled me off ASAP. They didn't ask if I was dining in but gave me a table number even though I was taking my food with me. The gentlemen who "helped" me bolted through my topping options in a jumble of words and then made my order. I would've asked him to repeat what he had said but he seemed annoyed that I was there. When I went to pay no one was interested in ringing me up. Honestly, I could've just walked out the door with my food since it didn't seem like they wanted to take my money.
