Piazza Pelino is an awesome authentic Italian shop with freshly made focaccia sandwiches, delicious homemade gelato, and a great wine selection! It's fun and inviting if you're eating in, and it's also great for picking up a sandwich, a loaf of focaccia or a scoop of gelato to go! They have so many great flavors of gelato and the staff is very friendly. The authentic canned sodas goes perfectly with the sandwiches as well!

This hidden gem is right next to The Lox and specializes in traditional Italian sandwiches, freshly baked focaccia, and homemade gelato. I've been here a few times now and it's always a treat. The staff is very pleasant and helpful, the food is delicious with ingredients imported from Italy, and the decor is relaxing. -- at Short North Arts District.

Excellent sandwiches -- I admit that at first glance I was concerned they'd be overly bread heavy and lack flavor, but that was far from true. The focaccia bread is light and perfectly salty, the meats and spreads rich but not overwhelming. We got the Il Top and prosciutto e fichi and they perfectly complemented one another, with the top being more savory and the fichi sweet (because of the fig jam). We were so full we didn't try the gelato, but we've heard you can only find better in Italy. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive (I noticed the owner on site, which speaks to their attention to the place) and the decor is so whimsical and fun (umbrellas decorate the ceiling, cool finds from Italy, from wine to books to drinkware, are on sale on the walls). Definitely check it out! Next time we have guests in Columbus, we'll take them here.

What a gem! I wanted to take my Italian wife to someplace cool on her birthday weekend trip and this did not disappoint. From the moment you walk in you are transported to Italy. The staff are amazing and friendly. I got the prosciutto e fiche. House made focaccia bread with prosciutto de Parma, soft cheese, fig jam, and a black garlic crema. I cannot describe what my brain went through after the first bite. It was pure Italian pride in a sandwich. They gave house made gelato as well. I had tiramisu and chocolate mixed. So rich and creamy. If you are anywhere close to this place do yourself a favor and stop!

Whats not to love? Homemade focaccia and homemade gelato, all under one roof....Sign me up. No bread brings me more joy than focaccia. It's a soft, chewy, fluffy labor of love. Piazza Pelino brings easily the best bread on the planet, freshly made daily, to the heart of Columbus. The Della Casa is a beautiful sandwich. Prosciutto and pesto never misses. Don't let the size fool you, these sandwiches are deceptively filling. The charm factor is absolutely off the charts here. It's the ceramic tile, the umbrellas, and the Italian music serenading in the background. I've been to my far share of sandwich shops in Italy over the past decade, and Piazza Pelino instantly transports me there....one of my life's happy places.

This place is AMAZING! It smelled soooo good when I walked in. We got the Top & Fichi sandwiches- yummy. Loved the black truffle chips and the strawberry cheesecake with chocolate shavings was delish. The staff were great. Highly recommend

There is truly nothing like an italian sandwhich with the highest quality ingredients! The Della Casa blew me away- it doesn't look like much but the focaccia, prosciutto, and stracciatella are top notch. It was the perfect amount! The calabrese was a bit of a letdown- it tasted like focaccia with tomatoes, which is technically what it is but we couldn't really tell there was nduja in there. For sandwiches that came to around $19 each after tip, it would be nice to be a tad more generous with the ingredients. It's cute in here and they have a nice shop as well, the wine selection looks great. I'm excited to come back to try the gelato!

I saw someone review this place on social media and I had to check it out. It did not disappoint!!! I love that they have their own parking lot right outside the business so no need to worry about street parking. Once you're inside the shop, it's pretty spacious and it smells sooo good like fresh bread. They have several tables too. You can order at the counter and then pick where you'd like to sit. I don't remember the name of the sandwich I had but it had cheese, prosciutto, and pesto, and it was delicious. It was pretty big so I had to save some for later. I also tried the pistachio gelato and it was the best gelato I've ever had.

Super cute sandwich shop that just opened next to Lox. Not a lot of seating inside but the tables are beautiful with the ceramic tiles. There's also a large selection of ceramic goods and other cute things inside in addition to the food! All their sandwiches looked amazing on the menu. We ended up trying a few - the Della Casa was a fav. The bread was super fresh with delish sea salt and the prosciutto was also so good. The gelato also looked amazing and we got to try the pistachio, which was so good. Overall, love this new sandwich shop and would definitely be back!

Outside. Just off High Street, next to Lox, small parking lot in front.

A small place with crazy good sandwiches and gelato! If you value quality- then you'll love this place!! Order at the counter from friendly folks, seating options are cozy and its not too loud or trying too hard. A little taste of Italy like you would find at a walk up shop in Cinque Terra.

A Culinary Gem in the Heart of Short North! Columbus, meet your new go-to spot for gourmet sandwiches --Piazza Pelino in the Short North! This place has already earned a permanent spot in my list of favorite eateries, and here's why: I had the pleasure of trying both the IL Top and Genovese sandwiches, and let me tell you, these are not just sandwiches--they are works of art. **IL Top Sandwich:** This masterpiece is a flavor explosion from the first bite. The IL Top features layers of thinly sliced, perfectly seasoned mortadella, rich, creamy burrata, and a delightful pistachio pesto that ties everything together. The focaccia, fresh from their bakery, is crisp on the outside with a soft, airy interior that soaks up the pesto without becoming soggy. It's balanced, it's savory, and it's absolutely addictive. Each bite transports you straight to an Italian piazza, with flavors so authentic you'd think you were dining under the Tuscan The ambiance at Piazza Pelino is just as impressive as the food. The decor is chic yet cozy, with a modern twist that pays homage to classic Italian eateries. The staff are incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and passionate about the menu--clearly proud to be part of such a stellar establishment. Piazza Pelino is more than just a restaurant; it's a dining destination. Whether you're a Columbus local or just passing through, this is a place you simply cannot miss. Trust me, one visit and you'll be planning your next meal here before you've even left the table. **Pro tip:** Go early because this place is bound to get popular fast. And don't forget to try one of their homemade desserts--they're the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Columbus, you've got yourself a new culinary star in Piazza Pelino. Five stars all the way!

It's a cute Italian inspired restaurant in the downtown. Good thing is they have parking which might be a nightmare on weekends. I have had their gelato. They change their flavours often. I like their ricotta cheese flavour and tiramisu. The options are limited though. The staff is polite and courteous I had to edit my review. I tried their focaccia sandwiches. We have tried 2 different sandwiches and they are subpar for the price they are charging. There was nothing good about their sandwiches

Got around to trying this new gem in the short north! It so delicious and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and well thought out. The staff was super friendly. While it is a tad on the high price side, it's a nice place to treat yourself on occasion. One recommendation I do have for them (and I almost took one star off for this) is that the focaccia bread would have been better if it was slightly warmed. Mine came out relatively cold and when you combine cold bread with cold meats, cheese and speeds, you lose some contrast. Also, it's a jaw workout chewing cold focaccia. Overall, just an excellent place.

Granted the extremely late delivery wasn't the restaurant's fault (necessarily)... However, because they use Door Dash for delivery, they're ultimately responsible by proxy. Add in that the delivery driver spoke no English, tried to kick our English Staffy who ran out whilst smiling to say "hi" (if you know anything about Staffy's, you know they love people and don't have a mean bone in their body), our food was cold because it was delivered 1.5 hours late, and I was about to lose my flipping mind. Now onto the food... These were quite honestly some of the worst subs we've ever had. Subway is miles ahead of this hot garbage, and it's not remotely close. The food was $50 for two puny half filled subs, inedible coleslaw (absolutely disgusting), a pickle, and a GF cookie (that was not delivered). Now onto the really bad part... Within 30 minutes of eating this trash, both my wife and I had to run for the toilet (I'll leave it at that). Bottom line... Screw this place. PS - If I ever run into Cosmic Dave, he's going to get a piece of my mind for charging people $ for this crap.

It was my turn, dining alone but nothing about a table for one at Scotty's is lonely. The staff are immediately welcoming and every customer is every employee's charge. Four different people helped me or just checked in. The Gina breakfast combos have lots to offer for breakfast. But I was thrilled this 9:30 am to be assured the whole menu was available. That would have been great but then the waitress (Salome maybe) said, "Do you like corned beef?" The Schmoozer is 3 enormous latkes with thinly shaved and lightly grilled corn beef on top with an over easy egg atop that. Additionally, having had a Goodman's Deli mile high corned beef sandwich when I lived in Cleveland, I had even higher expectations. Their most popular sandwich is the Reuben so I went with that. Katzingers did not meet them. When I arrived to pick up my sandwich I was shocked the line wasn't out the door to place orders before they closed and the dining room had maybe 6 people in it. There were about 6 to go bags on the shelf along with mine. When I mentioned to the cashier that I was surprised it wasn't busier, she said it'll be busier tomorrow. I said the day after St Pat's? No answer. Another not good sign in my mind. When I got home, the wrapped sandwich was bigger than my hand but not very tall. The paper had areas of grease which is a good sign for this sandwich. The corned beef itself was tender but there wasn't as much of it, maybe an inch high and 1/3 of the bread had no corned beef. I also could not taste the thousand island dressing. The rye bread was toasted but pretty soggy. The crust was mostly crunchy. The bread slices were paired upside down putting a narrower side a larger side against each other. There is not enough sauerkraut and it is not very sour. I was given the choice of a dill or garlic pickle but I cannot tell you how it was because they didn't put it in the bag.
