Nice little burger spot in Clintonville. When we went, it wasn't packed, so getting a table was quick. You order from a QR menu at the table, which I don't love. Food came average-fast. Get your own fountain drinks. The fries are pretty solid and you get a generous portion. The classic Preston burger is average. Not my favorite, but not "bad"...I love pickles, but I absolutely do not like their house made pickles. I'm not sure what it is - sweet pickles vs my beloved kosher dill? I'm not sure, but I won't get them next time. I'd try it again, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way for it.

If you're craving a quality burger you need to check out Preston's! The service is speedy quick & it's great for dining in or taking out! The pastrami bacon burger was my favorite and I haven't had anything quite like it! The chicken sandwich is crispy and flavorful, & you can't go wrong with a classic/regular burger either!

We tried Preston's for the first time today. It was excellent! We shared double classic burger--amazing! The house made pickle chips were so fresh and good! Coney dog was great. Pimento cheese hush puppies with spicy sauce wert amazing! Southern style baked mac n cheese--to die for! And lastly the banana pudding with chocolate and Carmel syrup soooo good!! We will definitely be back!

This might be one of my top 5 burger spots in Columbus. They have a small parking lot that's shared with other businesses in the plaza. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. When you go in the menu is on the wall but there's also some on the counter. You basically order and pay first and then they bring out your food. Very good customer service with positive energy. They had good music playing and clean bathrooms. The burger was simple but perfect. From the bun to the sauce to the seasoned patty. I have no complaints and highly recommend.

Take The Trip: Preston's Smash Burgers I've been reading about Preston's for quite a while now. Back when they were just a food truck, people couldn't stop talking about their smash burgers. So when I heard they had finally opened a brick-and-mortar spot, I knew it was time to take the trip and see what all the hype was about. Walking in, the place gives off a low-key vibe. The dining room is painted in a calm blue, with just a couple pieces of artwork on the walls. Nothing flashy or overdone--just an unassuming space where the food takes center stage. The menu? Simple but interesting. You don't have to flip through pages of choices, but what they do offer sounds carefully crafted. My wife went with the Mushroom Sandwich, and Preston's does it a little differently. Instead of a standard mushroom cap, they use lion's mane mushrooms, cut into pieces, battered, fried, and stacked on a brioche bun. It's topped with lemon thyme mayo, pickled red onions, and house-made pickles. On the side, she had shoestring fries--not fresh-cut, but cooked to a golden-yellow crisp. Her verdict? Short and to the point: "It was tasty." As for me, I had been waiting a long time to sink my teeth into one of their burgers. I ordered the Spicy Boi Burger ($13.00) and made it a double patty. This one comes topped with Sambal jam, pimento cheese spread, pickled red onions, and house pickles. Like my wife, I upgraded to fries for $2.00 (if you order them on their own, they're $3.00). The burger did not disappoint. Tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The Sambal jam added a perfect kick, balanced beautifully with the creamy pimento cheese and the tang of the pickles and onions. Everything just worked together. I really enjoyed it. Now, here's where things slipped a little. As good as the food was, it was served in mini food bags--no plates, no wrappers, no real way to eat comfortably. For a dine-in spot, that felt like a miss. On top of that, while they offered beers, the soda fountain was broken. That left me with only water from a dispenser. It was cool but not cold, no ice, and honestly a little underwhelming. Minus points there. So while I would love to hand Preston's a glowing 5-star review, a few small misses brought my score down. The food itself was delicious and absolutely worth the visit--but please, consider offering something to eat off of. A simple fix that would make the dining experience so much better. At the end of the day, Preston's still serves up smash burgers that live up to their reputation. If you're a burger fan, you owe it to yourself to check them out. Just be ready for a little less polish on the dining side. Take the trip--your taste buds will thank you, even if you wish you had a plate.

First time dining. I had heard some reviews on Instagram, so it perked my curiosity about the SpicyBoi burger. Everyone was ranting at how it was the best burger they had ever had. So today, I went out of my way to come check it out. I ordered the Spicy Boi double and an order of fries to go. The spicy boi (sambol jam, pimento cheese, red onion, and house pickle). Before I talk about the food, let me say a little bit about the place. It was busy at lunch time. It's an average size dining room. It looked clean and simple. The vibe was kind of hard to pin down. As for the menu, it was very focused on hamburgers, hotdogs and a few sandwiches. Parking seemed ample. I didn't have any trouble finding a spot. The service was okay. Just what you expect from a burger joint. The order took awhile to be made, which was a little unexpected. Now for the review of the food. The fries were crisp and delicious. The hamburger was cooked well and juicy. But it was more sweet than spicy, which isn't exactly what I was hoping. I also found the double burger to be on the small size. Overall, I'd say it is a good burger but it definitely isn't something I would drive out of my way to get again.

Decided to retry this place when I noticed they had a brick and mortar. Went in to place my order. It was after the lunch hour so it was about empty. I got the classic option on the menu, just one patty with all the fixings and added a side of cheese fries. I didn't wait long. Maybe 10 ish min? And they brought the order out to me even though it was takeout. The food was okay. Kinda bland despite all the sauces and cheese. Its still a pretty hefty burger though. The fries weren't overly salted which was still good but the cheese hardly added flavor. All of it seemed a bit pricey but it's reasonable for supporting local, especially in the Clintonville area. It was a bit disappointing that it didn't taste as good as last time but I had a couple beers in me back then and maybe anything just about impressed me. Tons of parking here but I'm sure it's pretty busy in the evenings as it's next to a brewery and Condado.

Mushroom Swiss burger with cheese fries

I was nearby. did a quick search to find the best burgers.... Yelp led me to this restaurant. It was easy to find had lots of free parking. We came in around two and it still was fairly busy. I really like the interior Head nice music had a large TV screen playing cartoons. The walls were painted with a steel blue and we're decorated nicely. The tables were modern the entire place. Had a great vibe. Ordering was pretty simple. The guy at the counter was really helpful and describing, but some of the sandwiches were like I chose a mushroom Swiss burger. My mother chose the original cheeseburger. The burgers are smashed, but they're not like super thin. They're still a great amount of meat in them. I didn't feel like I needed to have a double burger. A single was more than enough. The buns were perfect. The burgers were juicy. The toppings could've had a little more mushroom on it , but still quite good. We also got fries. The fries are thin, cut and and have a nice crisp to them without being crunchy. I ordered the cheese fries and let me tell you there's more than enough for two people in those Bottom line I really like this place. I will definitely go back at a place that I would bring people to. It's a sure thing highly recommend it.

Mala chicken sandwich and pimento pups
    Vanessa B.

We went to Preston's on a Friday night and my only regret is waiting this long to go. The Mala Chicken Sandwich was juicy, perfectly fried chicken cutlet seasoned to pack a spicy punch. The "mala" twist comes from the numbing heat that's both tingling and addictive, balancing the spiciness with a savory depth that keeps you coming back for bite after bite. The pickles add a refreshing tang, and the slaw adds just the right amount of crunch, making the whole sandwich feel fresh yet indulgent. Then there are the Pimento Pups, little bites of Southern comfort and flavor. The pimento cheese is rich and creamy, with just a hint of sharpness that keeps the dish from being too heavy. Fried to a golden brown, each bite of these Pups is crispy on the outside and melty on the inside--a perfect appetizer or snack.

Preston's is top burger joints in town. The burgers are juicy and well favored. I got the mushroom and Swiss single burger with a side of their comeback sauce. Comeback sauce is interesting has little bit of lemon zest which gives it a fresh taste. The fries are amazing very similar to McDonalds fries. I also tried the Honey chicken sandwich which was okay, nothing fancy or stands out to me about it. The chicken should probably be brined for it to be more flavorful. The coleslaw is vinegar based and little too vinegary for my liking. Service was decent. Ambiance is casual. They don't have a full bar but they offer some drafts and some canned beer. Overall definitely will comeback for the burgers and skip the chicken sandwich

When looking for a good burger in Columbus Prestons came up almost everytime. I decided to add it to my dinner plans. When I arrived the space was smaller than expected but felt perfect. We grabbed a table and ordered with the QR code for ease. Then we decided to move outside so I went to the register and let the female know we had moved and added some max and cheese. She was very friendly and helpful. She explained the Mac and cheese might be out a few minutes after but would follow quickly after the burgers. The food arrive hot and came out quick considering it was pretty much a full house. We ordered the pastrami bacon double which had the perfect smash burger crispiness and paired well with the bacon and sauce. We also ordered the spicy boi chicken sandwich, which was very crispy, juicy, and had a generous amount of pimento cheese on top. Then came the Mac and cheese which was cheesy, hot, and a good texture. The noodles weren't over cooked and it all worked. My only complaint was it lacked a little salt. But I added a packet mixed it and it went over the top. The fries were standard as expected. Hot, crispy, and enjoyable. Nothing crazy but fresh which is important. Oh and the hot dog. She's a THICK one for sure. At least 1/4 pounder. Not those skimp Oscar Mayer wienies. Over all great customer service, hot and fresh food, and a nice space!! Would absolutely return!

It's rare to find gluten free chicken tenders. Full stop. It's even rarer to find ones that are good. Preston's delivers not just the best gluten-free tenders I've ever had--cooked in dedicated fryers, no less--but quite possibly the best chicken tenders I've had the privilege of tasting, even prior to my Celiac diagnosis. The seasoning, the crunch, the moistness of the chicken... it's all there, and for $12.99 for 8 (substantially-sized) pieces. And? My pickup has order was ready in 15 minutes on a Saturday night. I don't think you can go up from here; Preston's has set me up for thorough disappointment from all other chicken tenders. Do yourself favor and try this gem of a restaurant if you're in the area.

I had the crispy mushroom sandwich today. This is the first time I have ever heard of a Lions Mane Mushroom. The mushroom was battered and fried with a lemon thyme mayo, red onion, house pickles, vinegar slaw for $13. I also had Fries for $3. The fries were thin and crispy. They give you a hefty portion of fries. A few of mine were a little over done but overall good. The sandwich was good. It was a very thick mushroom. It had the texture of chicken. Apparently this mushroom is used as a meat substitute for vegans and vegetarians. It did in fact look like chicken meat. Service was ordering at the counter. The ambiance was nothing special. It was very plain and generic other than a mural on one wall. The soda machine was broken so the only drinks that were offered were alcohol, bottled water and bottled rootbeer so we brought in our water cups from our car. Overall the food was good.

The beauty of a Saturday afternoon is there were sports on and TVs hanging on the walls. That made the wait easy. Boy do they know their stuff bc it was pretty much one hour to the minute when they called our name and escorted us to our table. We sat in a booth and took in on the collection of various items around the bar that have been gathered through the years and had some laughs at some of it. It was almost like a fun game of eye spy! They came to take our drink order and by the time they returned we were ready to order. We chatted for a bit and our food came out in what seemed to be a good time. I ordered the Patty Melt with onion straws. My husband got the Thurman Burger. We were surprised by its size when they came carrying it out to our table. Believe it or not he ate every single bite. Said it was delicious. Mine was equally as delicious. Maybe not quite as big but that was fine by me. I actually quite enjoyed that they served the 1000 island on the side. It made it way easier to eat. The cheese was nice and gooey. Just perfect. The onion straws were good too. I shared those with my husband. They were actually just as good on their own as they were dipped in any kind of sauce. That's big coming from me bc I love dipping! We got a box for our leftovers and headed out happy with a great first time experience here.

Arrived approximately 3:30pm - restaurant basically empty (maybe 5 tables total occupied). Went to check in for 2 and the host said he had reservations at 5. Huh? So I asked do you mean you can't seat us until 5? And he said no, that we need to leave by then because other people are coming. I thought that was very weird and unprofessional. I've never had an experience like that before. It's a basic sit down place, why would you think we'd linger for more than an hour and a half? Whatever, weird feeling, but we were seated. Seated in the walkway. Not like in a path but literally blocking the walkway where you step down. Why do I say this? Because people walking by kept banging into me. Not their fault. Why is there a table there? And why were we seated there when at least 80% of the restaurant was empty???? Ok whatever. Ordered food including their signature made in-house tots. Waitress comes back and says they were slammed in the morning and they're out of tots. (Man I feel bad for the people coming at 5. LOL) whatever except the people at the next table appeared to be served tots. Food was tasteless. The Mac and cheese had a weird texture like the roux wasn't cooked properly. My patty melt was mostly bread as the patty was too small for the bread. My husband had the signature chimi burger and it completely lacked any chimichurri flavor. Like at all. We were out by 4ish (plenty of time for them to prepare for their expected onslaught) and needless to say I've unbookmarked this place from my yelp.
