Super cute bar and restaurant! I came for their weekday happy hour, which is amazingly priced. The bar was full by 5:30p on a Tuesday but fortunately it was nice enough outside that I was able to sit at a small table. The service was attentive and everything came out quickly. I got an Old Fashioned, which was very good (though I wish they served it with a single rock of ice), and the Cubano with rosemary fries. It was a decent sandwich but was missing flavor for me. The fries were the highlight -- I loved the fresh rosemary seasoning and the sprinkle of parmesan. I would definitely come back to try other items on their menu! Their happy hour is the deal of the century.

Checked out Sycamore last night for the first time. The location is small but very nice and cozy. The staff were super friendly, and the service was relatively quick. I started with their take on an Espresso Martini, really lovely. May even be one of my favorites in Columbus now. I then settled on the Cuban for my entree. It was a little bit salty for my taste, but they still did the Cuban style sandwich very well. The truffle fries on the side were a great, yummy bonus. A tip before you go-- the space is definitely on the smaller side, make a reservation. I am excited to come back in the AM one day to try a latte or two!

We were visiting from out of town and wanted to try out a new to us restaurant. We ate brunch at Sycamore. They definitely don't give any extras. My avocado toast had the thinnest layer of avocado that I've ever seen, and my husband's breakfast burrito was underwhelming. The bacon was an add on. We paid over $50 with tip for our sad breakfast. The best thing was the cookie (not pictured).

My friend had been here before and suggested we come for dinner. I made a reservation just in case. It was busy. Some tables were open and some bar seating but it got pretty busy after a while. Lots of people sitting out in the patio. I like the ambience. German village is great at that. Older buildings with modern interiors. For drinks, I got the I couldn't possibly while my friend got the Italian 90. Lots of interesting cocktails on the menu. Refreshing and tasty! They also give complimentary bread. It's small but kind of dense, made with rosemary. And they give you oil and some kind of tomato sauce on the side. It tasted fresh. For entrees, my friend got the sablefish while I got the bass. Cooked to perfection! The bass had a nice crispiness to it and it was laid atop a slice of cauliflower and potatoes with some kind of sauce. My friend's dish came with baby bok choy and a pineapple slaw. The menu wasn't anything spectacular for the price point. You see some of the usual options at other types of restaurants of this caliber. Food was good, just not unique. They do have brunch and have a few coffee drinks on the menu. So I'd come back for that! Our server was nice. Gave us her recommendations. And food came out quickly too. We didn't wait long. Parking is easy around here. Tons of parallel parking. I parked right in front of the restaurant .

An unforgettable evening at Sycamore--where neighborhood charm meets thoughtful elegance. Food: Dishes here feel both comforting and inventive. We started with Summer Ravioli and Short Rib Ragu--each plate beautifully balanced and bursting with flavor thanks to seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. The kitchen effortlessly blends café-style simplicity with pan‑global flair--scallops seared to perfection, and beautifully seasoned wings and fries that instantly became favorites. Service: Warm, attentive, and relaxed--no rushing, just genuine care. Staff guided us through the menu, kept the pace just right, and felt like gracious hosts in their own home. Ambiance: Nestled in the heart of German Village, Sycamore exudes cozy sophistication. The exposed brick and natural wood tones create a welcoming atmosphere that's stylish yet unpretentious. It's the ideal backdrop for catching up with friends or winding down after a long day. Sycamore strikes the perfect balance--elevated comfort food, relaxed but polished service, and a neighborhood vibe that instantly feels like home. A must-visit for anyone in Columbus.

Service was great! Highly recommend a reservation as this place is very small and cozy! The complimentary focaccia they give you is very good!! The happy hour menu is great too (really enjoyed the espresso martini). The short rib ragu is excellent although $39 is very steep for the amount of short rib that comes on the dish. Overall I highly recommend this place if you can get a reservation!

Look big but it really isn't. It's good tho.

Cute little half hand sized breakfast sandwich with the soufflé egg that seems to be all the rage in the city. Don't let the pictures fool you. This sandwich was like a tasty overpriced White Castle Slider for close to $15 and it took forever for me to get it after ordering although there were barely any customers there in the early morning. The cookies were decent as well and they've got a cool pick up window where I guess you can place orders as opposed to walking all the way inside. Good luck finding parking too with all those tight cobble stoned streets and corners, edges and nooks where you could get T BONED by another vehicle ar any moment because you can't see shit trying to get there ‍

We were downtown and wanted to grab dinner. Have you been downtown on a Monday? Everything we initially tried was closed on Mondays. We decided to try the Sycamore! Success! If you havent eaten there for dinner, we both highly recommend it. Service was excellent. They dim the lights so it had a nice vibe. Perfect for date night. I had a salad which I added falafel to and wowzers... so good! The menu is small but mighty. Everything is fresh and from scratch. Highly recommend. However, reservations are a must as its a small space and white popular. We lucked out, but two other couples were turned away. Started out with a grilled artichoke a full nice size artichoke split and half grilled and covered with Parmesan cheese. It was delicious. They give complementary focaccia so there's one piece for each person at the table just one extra for dinner my husband ordered the Sycamore burger. He swapped out the fries for an up charge and got a salad. He chose the pickled salad. Their salads are huge so huge they're half salad. Is the size of normal places, both size salads I chose the Sycamore village salad, and I added falafel. The falafel is crazy. Good probably the best in the city. I ended up getting a second order of falafel so that I would have some for tomorrow. I also had ordered a large salad. I didn't need to do that. A half salad would've been more than sufficient and I probably wouldn't have been able to eat a half salad. I look at my extra salad that I had left over as a bonus as now I don't he doesn't make anything for tomorrow. We were offered dessert, but truly had no room for it. We had a wonderful time at the Sycamore and intend to be back soon.

First time at Sycamore! I will say it was an overall really nice experience; the focaccia starter was to die for and a great touch. The sycamore burger and drinks were all delicious, our waitress was amazing. I do take off one star for the overall expense... with the entrees ranging from $22-$50, I would expect the ambiance to be a bit fancier and although very cute and cozy, the prices felt out of place. I am eager to try their daytime coffee menu however, and love the location in the heart of German Village!

This place may be one of the best restaurants I've been to in a while!! The ambience as soon as you walk in was amazing. I'm someone who really only likes to sit at the bar bc I feel like you miss out on the atmosphere of a restaurant when you are sat at a bad table so I'd rather be in the middle of everything and at the bar! As soon as we walked in I was excited we had an actual reservation and got to sit at a table bc this place is so charming anywhere you sit you are still in the heart and soul of the restaurant. We did wait a minute before sitting at our table and grabbed a drink at the bar. The bartender made me one of the best dirty martinis I've had in awhile (I have a lot too). The blue cheese olives were so fresh and martini wasn't too dirty!! Just how I love it! Next up the food they started off by giving us free focaccia bread with a cheese olive oil and marinara dipping sauce. Sooooo good!!! Next we ordered the half village salad and it was huge perfect size to split along with the clam chowder soup recommended to us. We both had never had clam chowder and it was so yummy with 8 clams on top!! For entrees I got the chicken thighs. They were like yet crispy and the couscous was cheesy and then the figs made it all come together!! My husband got the hanger steak it was PERFECTLY cooked the sauce was delicious and the fries were yummy! We can't believe we had never been and can't wait to go back!

I'm relocating to the area and have been exploring different neighborhoods to find one that feels safe and socially vibrant. While out and about, I stopped by this adorable restaurant to grab a bite. I had my 3lb service animal with me, tucked in my purse, so I chose to sit outside per their pet policy. Unfortunately, a sudden storm hit. As I tried to manage my things in the rain, a kind young woman named Mel happened to be walking in to start her shift. Without hesitation, she came over, offered to help me bring everything inside, and reassured me that she would check on the policy regarding my dog so I wouldn't have to stress. They kindly seated me in the back area indoors, though I could sense the manager wasn't thrilled about it. Still, I truly appreciated the compassion and warmth Mel showed--it made all the difference. The food and drinks were great, but Mel's kindness and helpfulness made the experience memorable. She was the highlight of my visit.

Very cute location with a stunning inside and nice patio. Coffee was good. The avocado toast was small and had too many carrots on it for me. Would stop back to enjoy the ambiance and to have a drink.

Their visual chart is a…read moregodsend for cocktail explorers, and all of the drinks came out delicious and exactly as described. It's so creative, and the drinks are really the stellar stand out here. However, the atmosphere of those drinks is what gives me pause when thinking about coming back. The limited table situation, tiny cramped space, and loud music means that it doesn't feel particularly relaxing. People are constantly brushing up against you (even at 5PM), and holding a conversation at a normal distance is nearly impossible. NOTE: This place is covered in dust. No shade to the ownership as it doesn't appear to be anywhere near food prep areas (it's on the decor, on/around shelving, all over the faux plants, etc.), but if you're someone who's sensitive to dust, this is probably not a good fit. PROS: -I loooooooove how they've done their drink menu. As someone who is still exploring the potential of cocktails, their nerdy "chart" that places all of their drinks on a sweet/bitter and alcohol-forward/approachable visual chart is SUCH a help. As such, everything I ordered was absolutely amazing for me. I knew exactly what to expect from a drink because of its position on the chart, and it delivered. -Their drinks are really unique. Aqua faba? Fat washed alcohols? Lollipops or toasted marshmallows as garnishes? Super cool. Don't let some of the weirder descriptions creep you out of trying them. -All of their drinks were delicious. Everything I ordered was exactly as described. I often go places where the taste is barely related to its namesake, but they were entirely on-point here. CONS: -I'm not sure if someone called off that night as other reviewers are in love with the service, but our service was really really slow. No real rapport with the staff; just stating the name of a drink as they rushed past and then they were off to try to clean a table or take someone else's order. The drinks they made were great, but this isn't somewhere we'd go if we were in a hurry. -The pictures do not accurately convey how small this place is. Like, it's small. I'd guess less than 1000 square feet. My apartment is bigger by a lot. This isn't necessarily an issue, but it means people pile up quickly as they wait for seating (there's like 4/5 tables and then bar seating). The human walkways are small enough that the bartenders and other guests will brush against you a lot - even while seated. -I get the vibe they were going for here, but with the smaller space, I think a lot of the potential decor options had to "go" in order to fit more humans. It's giving me hardcore The Hearth Room (in Cincinnati) vibes, and I think it could honestly pull it off if it simply had more space. The "relaxed, sophisticated bourbon bar" doesn't quite come through as well when things are so focused on simply fitting in more bodies. -It's loud AF. Like, really, really loud. Between all the people and the blasting pop music, it required leaning into someone's ear in order to speak at normal volumes. We'd regularly have to pause the conversation if something in the music was building to a drop. This is not a place I'd take someone I wasn't very very comfortable with because it really requires being in someone's space to talk. -There's a single all-gender toilet here for everyone in the establishment. It's basically a revolving door of people in and out of it. The door auto-closes, however, so it's really difficult to figure out if it's open or not. There was usually a queue of people waiting in front of the door.

Tons of natural light means this cocktail bar has had some of my *favorite* cocktail bar photos I've ever taken. It's so pretty in here. Make a reservation if you want to make sure you'll have a spot. -No dedicated parking lot. 3-hour-limit free residential parking all around Law Bird, though. We generally have to walk 2 or 3 blocks from parking to Law Bird. Be aware this is German Village, and you're looking at cobblestone sidewalks for high heel and accessibility purposes. -Law Bird mostly has small party seating. If you have a larger group you want to seat during a pop-up, make SURE to get that reservation in early. They have the single 8-person table. -They have snackies and food. Portion sizes are small (despite what the prices may suggest), though, so this is not generally a place to eat a full meal. All of the food is super flavorful, though, so definitely a great snack to add on. PROS: -Keeping things fresh, they regularly host cute seasonal events, new drinks, and pop-up events. In recent memory, I know they've done a Cherry Blossom one, a Spooky Halloween one, and a Christmas one. -They go ALL OUT for their pop-ups. It isn't just a brand new, professionally-printed menu (no pieces of paper with 4 seasonal drinks here). It's also all of their interior decor, bathroom decorations, bartop decorations, and more. Ceiling decor too! They get all up in there. It's really fun to see the space transformed constantly. -Between the new menus and the constantly-new decorations of their space, I love regularly popping into Law Bird. -I LOVE the creativity of the menus, and I LOVE that they offer cocktail classes. (I haven't taken one yet, but I'm excited to!) The menu has unique drinks, served with unique garnishes. They have a few "sugar cocktails", but for the most part, Law Bird drinks tend to be complex and spirit-forward. -Their "themed" bathrooms (even with their own themed music playlists) make me happy. They have two unisex, single room restrooms. CONS: -If you come during a pop-up with a smaller group, they will enforce their reservation time limit of 1.5 hours. This isn't necessarily the end of the world, but the times when they enforce their limits is when they have more customers waiting - and tend to be when the place is at capacity. When they're at-capacity, the bar staff and service staff is a lot busier, with drink service taking longer and servers checking in a lot less. This means we usually only have had the chance to place 2 drink orders during that 1.5 hour time limit before they ask us to leave. This can be rough (to try most of the drinks on a limited time menu) unless you're sharing drinks with your tablemates. If you still want to continue your evening with your friends after that 1.5 hour limit, Antiques on High, Daily Growler, and Cobra are easily walkable from here. -During their pop-ups on weekends, time between placing a drink order and receiving the drink has usually been around 15 to 20 minutes. Not the end of the world as you get to socialize with friends, but again, with the time limit, that can be a bit rough.

My husband and I celebrated Valentine's Day at Cento this year! We had a 5-star experience - from…read morethe service to the drinks to the food! Everything was wonderful! Drinks - my husband had a CBC IPA and I had a Spritzer. Appetizer - we went with the whipped ricotta. This was absolutely delish! The whipped ricotta was creamy, smooth, had a lemony flavor with celery leaves and parsley. Seriously, all of the flavors blended so well together! It was also topped with black truffle and honey (from a local vendor)! The sourdough bread that the whipped ricotta was served with was super fresh and warm (and from a local vendor as well)! Salad - we ordered a Caesar salad as well. I thought that it was super nice that they plated the salad on two plates for us knowing that we were splitting it! Super thoughtful! The romaine was crispy (not soggy), the croutons were freshly made, the dressing had the anchovy flavor that I appreciate in a good Caesar dressing, and the salad was topped with a little lemon zest! I will definitely return just for the Caesar salad! Meals - I went with the Rigatoni and my husband went with the Lasagna. We were informed by our server that the flour used for the pasta is imported from Italy and that the pasta is made fresh daily - LOVE this! The rigatoni was SO good! I love that the pasta and shrimp were all cut into smaller bites! The sauce was absolutely delicious! The flavor was like a mix between a thick tomato bisque and curry! Yum! My husband really enjoyed the lasagna as well! The lasagna was plated into little roll-ups which my husband really liked! Will definitely be back soon - we want to check out the patio once we have warmer weather too!

I've lived in the neighborhood for 12 years now and was excited when I saw this place being built…read more I have been there a few times now - both times I had the Rigatoni and Shrimp with a glass of red. Approximately $45.00. Last night I went and must say - very surprised at what I paid; glass of red $14, ceaser salad $16, added a side of chicken $15.0!!! Thqt surprised me - thats 3 chicken breast at the store lol Each time I have sat at the bar - both inside and out (even in winter). Great ambiance. I love the bar inside - gives an upscale 50s diner with great design and mood. The outdoor bar in winter is very nice and warm - haven't had trouble grabbing a seat at either. Bartenders are nice, very attentive and knowledgeable. Parking is easy, there is valet offered. Overall - a bit over priced for generally good food, but a pleasant night out for date night or girls night out.
