Pretzel Bites
Sam N.

Went to Fat Baxter's for the first time and loved it! We got three appetizers, the pretzel bites, Baxter Balls and Slut Tots, and they were all delicious! For entrées, I got a cheeseburger and my partner got wings. We brought home a lot of it, the portions are very generous. Parking was easy, with plenty of off-street parking spots. The service was fast and accurate! They accept all major credit cards. The general feel of this bar/grill is like "local meetup." I feel like the the staff knew a lot of the other customers, and there were regulars. Very fun atmosphere! This place is also very affordable, we would've spent so much more for this much food in Short North! We'll definitely go back!

OMG!!!! This place is a hidden gem I've been hearing about it for a while from all of my coworkers but never had a chance to stop in and try them. It is literally walking distance from my job so finally I went in and man oh man oh man what can I say. FAT BAXTER'S you definitely live up to the hype! I was greeted helped and served by the owner of this establishment "pretty red" she was extremely helpful and gave me unlimited suggestions on what to try. If you are ever in Columbus OHIO and on the west side this is a must have the food and I mean everything on the menu is amazing and she makes the best sex on the beach I have ever had! They deserve 10but I can only leave 5!!! Definitely my new lunch spot.

This place where I am from would be called a "hole in the wall" but don't let that nickname deter you from eating here! The food was delicious! I didn't get a picture of the pretzel bites because they were gone so fast!! Everyone was so polite. Seemed as if everyone knew everyone and they were all so nice!!! The service was impeccable! The best we have had in a long time! Highly recommended!

Very down to earth and chill place to get a drink, laugh and have a good time. They also serve food and have games some nights. Never a bad time to stop in a see what's going on. Locally owned and operated. You might run into my favorite coworkers, Lori & Terry!

Great food, incredible service and atmosphere, wings were perfect and the slut fries were a nice surprise definitely coming back!

Carolina gold

Stopped in last night but missed kitchen cut off at 10pm. Had a beer bought a shirt. Named for a rescue dog! Incredible diverse crowd so damn friendly from worker off duty at the bar to the bar tender. Came back for afternoon lunch today again diverse and friendly like a place they know your name! Food. Had hot Baxter balls! Yum classic bar cheese ball!, wings have so many options with dry rubs and sauces had Carolina gold and was outstanding. The side salad excellent and a great value. Don't miss this gem!

Yeah!

Our first time here and we started with the spicy Baxter balls. They are small bites of breaded cheesy goodness with an afterburner. We chose marinara to dip and it was quite tasty. The husband had an Italian beef sandwich with au jus. He really liked it. I got a small house salad and it was plentiful. It was also just plain old iceberg lettuce which I appreciate - no weeds. The open-faced pizza sub was toasted perfectly, but could have used some of that delicious marinara sauce for dipping. Husband liked the Land Grant Lawnraker. Surprised he held off with just one. Bonus: they served some of my favorite chips- Miss Vickie's sea salt chips. Oh yeah! Extra Bonus: As soon as we sat down a duo started playing music. They were very entertaining. Ethan and Sandy - we would come back to see more of you. Our server was a delight!

It was a Saturday night, so I expected a packed house, but surprisingly it wasn't busy at all. The décor is still one of my favorite parts of this place -- lots of local touches, Ohio State gear on the walls, and that relaxed roadhouse vibe. We were seated right away, and it took a few minutes before a server came over. No big deal. I went with the Create Your Own Combo -- it comes with a salad (Caesar or side salad), an entrée, a drink, and those endless dinner rolls. I chose the Caesar salad, chicken tenders with fries, and an Arnold Palmer. Now, I'm someone who actually likes getting my salad before my meal, but that didn't really happen here. They brought out my salad and, no joke, maybe 30 seconds later my entrée showed up. So I just ate everything together. Salad was good -- cold, fresh, and nicely dressed. The chicken tenders... well, you get four, but they were definitely on the smaller side and mostly breading. The fries were just okay, regular fries, and kind of lukewarm. Honestly, the rolls and the salad ended up being the best part of my meal. For $14.95, I was hoping for bigger tenders and hot fries, at least. Would I come back? Sure. Logan's isn't off my list, but next time I'll probably go with a burger or a different entrée. On the positive side, my wife had a much better experience -- she ordered the Anything & Everything Salad and really enjoyed hers. So maybe it just wasn't my night.

It was terribly sweet but I drank it.Anyway...The reason for the stars is because of the quality of the drink. That was supposed to be top shelf.. And then when some regulars came in, she totally forgot about me even though I asked her for my check and a box.. She did some other things first, came back to take their order. And then she gave me a box, which was ten minutes later when I was sitting right there. I'm sorry that i'm not a regular but I don't even live here. And come here for business. Maybe I would have got better service if I was.

These meatballs were incredibly tender, sitting in a rich pomodoro sauce that brought a beautiful balance of brightness and depth. Finished with a sprinkle of pecorino Romano, each bite had that savory, slightly salty kick that elevates the entire dish. The toasted ciabatta crostinis were crisp and golden--perfect for soaking up every bit of that sauce. And that fresh basil leaf on top? A simple touch that added just the right amount of freshness to bring it all together. After a day of capturing powerful stories, it was refreshing to experience that same level of care and intention on the plate. This appetizer didn't just hit, it lingered

It was definitely not the same place. However, this place warmed up to me pretty quickly. It looked a lot different when it first opened, has theough a few changes with one being a Hallway to the sushi restaurant next door - Great sushi by the way!! My friend and I were equally impressed. We got the giant meatballs from South Village and 3 different types of sushi from next door. Quite the spread but all of it was good!! I come a lot here - for months I used to come every Sunday night get the wings and hummus. Whatever the old wing sauce was - it was sooo good. They have now switched to buffalo and to be honest other places make it better. Still try the hummus. It's delicious. So is the incredible meatball. Drinks here have always been really good. Quality. Pizza really goood - get the Hot Honey pepperoni. They also used to have one of the best calamari plates in the city - and I have Italian parents who ALWAYS order Calamari. So if you ever see it - get it. Small tv in the corner by the bar - enough to be seen, small enough not to kill the vibe but definitely don't come if your goal is to watch a game. This past time I went I had the Braised short rib, with a Martini and the cookie with ice cream for dessert. I hardly ever get dessert but some broad yelled at me for getting stuck in the great snowmageddon snow on the way here so cookie it was!

Love this place!…read more Came in here last weekend and sat outside for a warm spring evening. We did make a reservation somewhat last second, but were easily able to get an outdoor table. We actually got to the restaurant a little bit early and they ended up seating us outside, which was perfect. For food, I had the fried chicken sandwich with french fries and mac & cheese. My girlfriend had the chicken sandwich as well, so we each got a different side. The chicken was perfectly cooked without being overly greasy or oily. The french fries were delicious, and the macaroni and cheese was heavenly. Our server was very friendly and intensive to our needs. I felt like our food came out very quickly. Overall great time here and can't wait to come back. Love going to this place in Cincinnati as well, so I was very happy when they opened one up in Columbus.

Everything tasted fresh and balanced, the chicken was seasoned well, and the mix of greens, corn, tomatoes, and that dressing all came together really nicely. It was one of those salads that actually feels like a full meal, not just something you grab on the side. The inside was quiet I went in just as they opened I believe. Service-wise, it was just alright. My server wasn't bad, but they were in the middle of a team meeting, so I was kind of left on an island for a bit waiting on things. It wasn't enough to ruin the experience, though. Overall the food carried everything and I'd still call it a good visit.

BaldWhiteGuy Reviews…read more https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1B3pXxs7fM/ So there I was... headed toward the chaos Blue Suede vortex known as the Ohio FFA at the Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds. Needed lunch and thought about North High Street, but was not already mentally preparing to fight for parking like it's a Black Friday sale in 2003. Audible called. Swung into Grove City instead. Smart move. Possibly my best decision since I stopped trusting gas station hotdogs. After some extensive research (opened Yelp Columbus judged harshly, moved on), I had three requirements: 1. Not a cookie-cutter chain 2. Somewhere new 3. A menu that wouldn't trigger "I don't see anything I like" syndrome Enter: Broadway Plates & Pints 4008 Broadway, Grove City Grove City is that sweet spot... close enough to Columbus to feel alive, but still has that "people wave at you for no reason" energy. Parked on the street like a rookie, only to later discover there's parking behind everything. If you can't find a spot, just check the rear. Yes, I said it. Walked in, grabbed a seat. Smaller place, but in a good way. Elevated tables, bar seating, normal tables for us normal-ish folks. Big windows for prime people-watching. My dimpled sidekick even got a wave from a random passerby. #Friendly #ShesGotFans Then... plot twist... Cleveland Ketchup Company Ketchup sitting on the table. Didn't even know ketchup could have a hometown. #OH.. All-natural, Ohio-made, no junk. And yeah... it's actually really good. The Bald Bunch supports local, even if it's tomatoes living their best life. Check Cleveland Ketchup Company out. They have plenty of locally sourced condiment options. #supportlocal Server Emma B rolls up, keeps it simple. Water and a Michelob ULTRA for me. Because hydration matters... and so does survival. We were starving, so appetizer time: Fried Mozzarella Triangles Hot, crispy, did the job. Not life-changing, not disappointing. The Toyota Camry of appetizers. Reliable. Gets you where you need to go. Now the menu... solid lineup. Burgers, wings, calzones, sandwiches, enough options to make commitment issues flare up. I was bouncing between a calzone, Italian sub, or burger... Then I saw it... THE KRAKEN And listen... you don't order The Kraken. You summon it. This thing shows up like it just crawled out of the Atlantic looking for revenge: * THREE patties (because one or two is for amateurs) * Bacon * American cheese * Caramelized onions * Onion ring * Steak aioli * Brioche bun * AND a honey butter pretzel sitting on top like a crown Just in case was not already enough calories. This wasn't lunch. This was a full-contact event. Immediately ate the onion ring and honey butter pretzel solo like a savage. Then went to work. Multiple napkins required. Not first-date safe. Not job interview safe. Possibly not OSHA approved. But man... it was GOOD. Patties cooked right. Bacon had that perfect bite. Aioli and onions brought it all together like a greasy symphony. Left full... borderline questioning life choices... but zero regrets. Fries? Solid. Pretzel Topper? Sneaky good. Honestly might go back just for those. Service? Emma B crushed it. Drinks stayed filled, no disappearing act, no "I'll be right back" and then vanishing into another dimension. Now... let's talk price. $54.25 for lunch. Look... I get it. Everything costs more now. But I'm still gonna complain about it like it's my full-time job. Either prices come down or someone needs to give me a raise. Preferably both. And one more thing... Beer was cold. BUT NOT IN A FROSTED MUG. Unacceptable. Somewhere, Congress is wasting time when they could be solving real issues like this. Draft beer should never warm up mid-drink. That's just science. Final Rating: ‍‍‍‍ - 4 out of 5 Bald Heads Pros: * Parking (once you stop ignoring the back lot like I did) * Great people-watching windows * Filling, legit good food * Friendly, attentive staff Cons: * No frosted mugs (we can fix this, I believe in you) * Prices... but also, apparently I just complain now #OldMan If you're cruising through Grove City and want solid food, a relaxed vibe, and a burger that might require a waiver... this is your spot. And - order some Ohio Condiments at Cleveland Ketchup Company. #FreeShipping #SupportLocal #BaldApproved #ReleaseTheKraken
