This establishment is absolutely appalling and outright discriminatory. I visited with a colleague who was briefly back from deployment in Iraq. We simply had a conversation at the bar about the conflict in Israel. The next day, after he returned overseas, I went back to this bar, where I've been a regular customer for years. Upon arrival, I was met with the most shocking behavior from the bartender, Dylan--someone I've never had any issue with before. He suddenly informed me, in the most rude, aggressive, and downright hostile manner, that I was no longer welcome. I've traveled to over 60 countries, and I can confidently say that Dylan is one of the most unprofessional and vile individuals I've ever encountered. This was clearly a discriminatory act against a loyal, near-daily customer who is a well-known businessman in the area and has consistently supported this establishment, recommending it and bringing others here over the years. The fact that this kind of aggressive and violent behavior is tolerated is unacceptable. Dylan's actions were beyond shocking--he is a disgrace and should be immediately fired. This is not just poor service; it's completely unacceptable and dangerous. I urge everyone to avoid this place at all costs. Their behavior is not just shameful, it's a serious issue that needs to be addressed. Shameful business. A Better Business Bureau complaint has been filed and will submit the complaint to the Ohio Attorney General's office if no resolution or apology is discussed in a timely manner. read more

Good luck trying to get a drink at this bar after midnight. The principle bartender shuts things down officially with last call at 1:15, but stops serving well before that. Edit 18FEB24: same bartender (Dillon) is a thief. The guy got drunk on shift, at least I hope he was drunk, picked up the cash I put out for my next drink and said "this is mine now and you're cut off. You know you deserve it". There were some pretty intoxicated people in the same seats earlier who he had obviously overserved since one of them fell out of their chair, but that wasn't me, I was on my third drink. The bar back pulled my cash back out of the tip jar and apologized for his behavior but this guy has a problem. read more

I was overcharged by Black Hat by $40 and tried to call several times. I also went by there twice to soeak to someone and they made the excuse that the computer system has a glitch; howver, noone offered to give me my money back. Noone ever called me back. It happened to me another time there, but I gave them a second chance thinking maybe they charged me for my friend's drink. I woould have gone back, if they made it right, but I am not going back now. read more

Cheap drinks. Laid-back bar staff. Non-judgemental atmosphere. Snacks (popcorn, hot dogs, sometimes nachos). Couches. Darts. Big 'ole TVs. Grab a couple Crunk Bombs, fire-up Touch Tunes, get on a pool table & have a sweet time! There's also a guy who helps clean up around there. Totally blanking on the name. But he's one of those dude's that you feel compelled to tell people about. Funny stories, hilarious jokes. Always remembers you. Guy is a key component of the whole aura that place has created! Very friendly staff, two pool tables, patio, free hotdogs, and a stage that could only fit a drumset. I was here during happy hour with a few co-workers and we had a blast. They have free pool Monday nights, and very reasonable drink prices. read more

Depending on who is there depends on the service that you receive from Dillon (bartender/manager). He is rude and shows a lot of favoritism while waiting to get drinks. He bases his service on the friends there and who trying to impress. Find a night that Dillon is not working and will enjoy yourself. Owners need to check with the patrons and they would see that Dillon is hurting their business. read more

Myself and my coworkers had the worst experience at this bar. The first time we went was not as bad. But the bartender was a belligerent drunk both times. Last night when we were there he was too drunk to work. He yelled at everyone and kicked everyone out of the bar before it was even 2 o clock. He also called last call around 1:45 and immediately after calling last call refused to serve drinks to anyone. One of my coworkers was refused drinks for personal reasons. And another pair of my coworkers never got the drinks they ordered. And when they asked about the drink the bartender told them they weren't getting them. They weren't even served one drink. I do suggest opening a tab at this bar though. Because the bartender is too drunk to remember to ring in drinks so a lot of them go unpaid for. I definitely won't be returning unless there is a different bartender. read more

Fun, relaxed atmosphere! The bartender was attentive and the drinks were not watered down like many place around Columbus.

Great experience until last time I visited on a Sunday. I asked the bartender if I played music, would it change the speakers from the football game. He said yes so I put $10 into the jukebox only to find it was paused and I couldn't get my money back...cheap con so I stay till the game ended to hear music! read more

We walked in and played a few songs from the 90's. A guy by the name of booker skipped several of our songs. He was shouting how terrible the music was. When asked about it he came over and then apologized and offered money. We didn't want his money as we just wanted to listen and have a good time. After about half an hour he started throwing his hands up and shouting at the guys I was with and wanting them to meet them outside. We told him several times we just wanted to enjoy our time and several guys that were just customers told us that he wasn't worth fighting because he was wasted. We told everyone that came over that we didn't want to fight anyone. We then asked for a refund for a full beer because we were leaving. We didn't want any part of the fight he was trying to cause. The bartender refunded us the money with an attitude. After we tried to leave, the guy by the name of booker came outside and was trying to fight us. He followed us clear to our cars shouting, while some of the customers that knew him were trying to stop him. We've been to Black Hat several times and always had a good time but this time we are very displeased with the experience and will not be returning. read more
