This little hole in the wall is hidden near the end of a strip mall. I'm a huge stout drinker in winter and I love high rated, high abv stouts. The Draft Room held a "Dark as Night" event which they featured some rare, highly rated stouts. They listed the stouts and after doing some review research, I knew I couldn't miss out! The bar has seating at the bar, small tables near the bar, and bigger tables/booth near the front of the bar. There is a small narrow outside patio, which looked mainly for smoking. I'm not sure if there are tables out there maybe when the weather is nice. The Draft Room had a ton of taps and offered flights, full beer pours, and even half beer pours for all their beers. I love this idea because sometimes I would rather have a smaller portion to try more things! The bartenders were fast and efficient. Since my husband and I both opted to do a flight, they handed us a board with four holes for the flight glasses, and a piece of chalk. The drafts are listed by number, and posted on each side of the bar. We wrote the number of the drafts we wanted to try on the chalk board paint next to each of the drink holes. What a cool idea! There was a cooler of take home beers on the side of the bar. I saw multiple people coming in and buying beer from the cooler and leaving. They have a great selection! They don't have their own food, so you can bring your own. The bar is right next to Jimmy John's and also Pasquale's! We will definitely be back! read more

I haven't written about The Draft Room? I was introduced to this place to meet my SO's friends at one time, I think they were doing an event with Baker's Acres (another great local company). Since then - we have come back for their plant bingo quite often, and I've seen a lot of their staff, and have come away with zero complaints. They keep a nice tap list with variety (a little hop heavy, but that's the current trend, right?), they have a small selection of to-go beers and singles/BYO. It's a chill location, with Pasquale's nearby, and Ox-b's across the street (who do free delivery during plant bingo). Basically, if you like a chill bar and good drinks, this is a great place to stop in to! read more

My husband and I visited the Draft Room this afternoon, they had 24 beers on tap and even more in cases. It's funny because we aren't big beer drinkers but we were able to find something we liked on draft. If you don't like beer there were also a decent amount of cocktails too. Service was good and the place wasn't crowded (which makes sense for a Sunday afternoon). There was a lot of seating and looks like a great neighborhood hole in the wall. read more

I love that we are able to bring our food from Pasquale's to eat in their place. There is only one booth, and at the time we were there, there were six guys having a great time on a Friday afternoon. There are other high-top tables and chairs, but since I am small, I don't feel comfortable at those kinds of tables. We sat at a table in front of the refrigerated beers and shelves and watched the big TV above them. The chairs aren't too comfortable chairs, but they will do. The Draft Room is a new bar in Westerville. It has a good selection of local beers. The beers seem fairly priced. It has a wide amount of beers and not just a bunch of IPAs like many of these kinds of bars. The staff tries to answer any questions. I had the Madtree Blood Orange. It's a good fruit flavored beer without being too sweet. The beers usually are about $3 to $5 for a pint with some a little more than that. It has many better of the favorite brewers in Columbus and the rest of Ohio. These include Fat Head, Rheingeist, and Warped Wing. If you would like to sample a few local brewers, go to The Draft Room. It's located close to Cleveland Avenue and Schrock Road. The beer menu isn't big right now but they expect to add more soon. read more

The room was kind of loud and made it hard to hold a conversation across the table without yelling. Also, I order a growler and was told they didn't have growlers but "32 oz. crowlers". As if that wasn't silly enough, the can they served me supposedly couldn't be legally consumed inside the bar! So I wasted cash buying what I thought was a larger volume of beer for less money when in reality it was 8 oz shy of a 40 which I couldn't consume in the building. That was silly. This place is quickly moving up in the list of my fave places for beer. Reason being variety. Now, I'll say that but then contradict it by saying they should call this place the Hop House since they have so many IPA varieties taking over many of their 24 taps. I'm not complaining-a hoppy heaven for me, but I can see some being annoyed by it. I've been around the beer block a few times but when I looked over their menu I was asking, What's that? Who's that? Where are THEY from? The guys working there knew all the answers and let us take tastes of all the curiosities. Happy Hour: Mon-Fri $1 off all 16 oz drafts and $1 off the cocktail menu. Not a GREAT deal, but it's something, considering the variety and ABV.... Then there's a Hoppy Hump Day every Wednesday with $1 off IPAs. Here's where that hop-heavy menu comes into play. I personally don't like Wednesdays here for they usually have trivia night and I don't like messing with that when trying to relax with a pint. Their 32 oz crowlers are a decent deal, usually averaging a $2-$4 dollar savings over buying 2-16oz there. In addition they have a small carry-out area in the front-bottle and cans, singles and 6ers. Food: a few snacks but the business of the shared Westerville strip mall will deliver: Chinese, Pasquales, Monte Carlo, and I think a Jimmy Johns. Personally, if the beer was more basic these places would be fine, but I prefer just going here to drink and experience. If I needed a nibble, I'd go with their in-house charcuterie featuring meats from local North Country Meats. Haven't had it here but have had it elsewhere and it's legit sh*t. Subtle touches: the bathrooms have lights about the door. If the light is on, it's occupied. So simple but SO helpful. Beer not your thing? I enjoyed my time here and I look forward to returning again soon. I love craft beer and the owner is very passionate about the craft and exploration of all types of beers! Talk him up and you'll learn a thing or many. We were here on a weeknight, so it wasn't too busy and we sat at the bar. I was able to sample a few beers to figure out one that was right for me. I appreciated all the beer for purchase to go in bottles, cans, crowlers (from the tap), or if you bring your own growler. But you can drink any of the beers on draft there, or pay a "corkage" fee to grab a bottle or can from the fridge. They also do flights off of the draft menu of 24 options. I appreciated the atmosphere. It reminds me of the newer craft breweries, considering the lighting, tables, bar area, decor, and even a selection of board games. Since I need a reason for my wife to want to go here, I did ask if they served wine and he said they have a house white and house red. The Draft Room's location is great. Ample parking and multiple food options within the strip mean that although the bar doesn't have food, their are options nearby that are encouraged to be brought in. The space of the Draft Room itself is ample enough to have a large party, but also intimate enough that two people could have a more private conversation without interruption. The noise level is to be expected for a neighborhood bar. I love the live plants, friendly bartenders, clean space, and incredibly smart system that alerts you whether or not the single person bathrooms are occupied. They have a lot of beers on tap! I would wager that they have the best (and most) variety of beers on draft compared to any other Westerville bar. AND if you don't like what they have on draft, they have an enormous cooler full of beer for you to peel through, and bottle service to accommodate. There is really no reason you shouldn't find something you like here. My only qualm with The Draft Room is that I find that their beers are a little more expensive than other bars around. Don't expect to find a $3 low-brow pint here, or an upscale wine. This place is exactly what the name implies. read more

They have a lot of great beers on tap, and a nice selection of to-go cans (refrigerated and not). They support many of the smaller local breweries, which I really appreciate. Craft Beer Heaven! The Draft Room has approx 22 taps that rotate very frequently. Staff has always been knowledgeable about the beers on tap and finding new ones you might like. No food served by the Draft Room however there are near by restaurants you can order from. Also a food truck seems to be here once or twice a week as well. A few coolers as well for take home beers in addition to having a canning machine for crowlers. read more

I've grown up in Westerville & remember when there were absolutely no bars or alcohol served at any restaurant within city limits. Good variety of beers from local(ish) breweries, ranging from your dankest IPAs, to your heaviest duty of stouts. Though they don't have a kitchen on site, they had menus for local restaurants readily available, and were more than willing to let folks at the bar BYOF. All in all, nice spot.
