The decorations here are so fun! Be sure to check out the mural on the wall as some of the references there go along with the beer names. Hi Krista; avid chiefs fan! I hope you and all of your friends are having a great day, as you can imagine I was until I just so happened to see that you thought you were doing something by trying to call out my girlfriends review from December. I don't care if it's 3 months ago, nobody is going to talk to us like that. You claim that our review was full of lies- but the only thing false was your counter review. I have no shame or problem in making you look like the idiot you attempted to make us look like. I applaud your loyalty to a business, however lying and attacking other paying customers is not the way to do so. In December we paid for tickets for a drag show at 11am at a bar we'd never been to. Being fans of Scarlett Moon we follow her to several locations. We got to Grizzlybeard actually on time, unlike you tried to say. Unfortunately (but good for scarlett!) the drag room was already full so we had to sit just outside the room in front of the doors. This setup was not terrible but not the best, but we had no problems until you guys arrived and asked for the door to be closed on us, even though we had tickets. NOT ONCE did you guys "offer help" in finding new seats. The bartender did peak in to also find that there were in fact- no seats. After telling the bartender, hey we actually paid to be here I was met with an attitude and rolled eyes and heard a complaint that they couldn't close the door. If it was that serious, the establishment should have been checking and verifying tickets upon arrival. That never happened. Also, the problem wasn't that it was a chiefs bar. It wasn't that you guys were enjoying the game. It was that the establishment poorly planned and scheduled 2 co existing events and then poorly handled the mishap of it all. Anyway, this was 3 months ago so I don't need to continue fighting my piece, however I'll leave you with photos that not only prove we were there on time; but also before you guys and before the game started. Best smash-burger in Ohio-- I said what I said!!! Not to mention tots of the ~crispiest~ variety, and a Christmas Ale SO tasty it'll make your heart grow three sizes. Service was incredible, loved the atmosphere, and WILL be back the next time I'm in town! 10/10 highly recommend. read more

A guest and I purchased two tickets and went on 12/21/25 for a drag show and were treated terribly by the bartenders. The event room was at capacity when we arrived so we sat just outside the double doors separating the room from the bar to be able to participate and view the show. After enjoying ourselves without issue for nearly 2 hours, the bartenders abruptly closed one of the double doors to completely obscure our view of the show we paid in advance to attend. I immediately asked the bartender to reopen the door and was questioned if I even purchased a ticket to attend, even though I had been sitting and participating for nearly 2 hours. After answering yes, she reluctantly reopened the door and returned to the bar rolling her eyes so hard they nearly rolled into an empty glass and saying loudly "we can't" and gestured toward us as if we were an issue for existing in this establishment. The other bartender joined in the eye rolling while local chiefs kingdom fans were also upset we ruined their Sunday game day vibes by enjoying this drag show. After enduring another song of this hostile behavior, we decided to depart. The first bartender came up to my guest and said "it's not that serious" in reference to us leaving so they could close their door. Another local karen patron enthusiastically asked if we were leaving so they could finally enjoy their game. The goodbye and good riddance was so enthusiastic I thought I was being celebrated for curing cancer. Will not be back and would not recommend attending events there if it also falls on another sporting event day as the bartenders will cater to the 8 Karen chiefs patrons over 40+ ticket paying new patrons who were drinking and tipping generously for the entire 3 hour performance. read more

Nice place to have a drink with friends. Kid friendly. They have a few games and virtual golfing. There is some food like pizza. The pizza was good and so wjat the garlic bread. Let's start with what they're doing right... love the set up with the food truck out back! Space is fairy large, and they had some sort of small private event area off the main room. Great location for us, walking distance from the neighborhood. But I'll never go back. The bar server was incredibly rude. The menu was made up of a wide variety of craft brews, in-house and guest brews, and being new to this establishment I asked her to describe one of the Grizzlybird beer selections. She was annoyed with the question, and said "how would I know, I just tapped it".... Ok, but odd response at a brewing company. Kind of standard staff training- try all the new brews so you can describe them! Not my first taproom, and generally the best part about going to a taproom is talking about the beers! I ordered a couple beers, and headed back to our table. As the night went on, I dreaded returning to the bar- but at some point had to face her again. Still rude. The other server and some sort of game host seemed to like their jobs and were friendly, total bummer that they would keep someone on staff that brought down the vibe. The Grizzlybird beer was nothing special, a brown without any nod to its "butter beer" name, probably not what I would pick as the sole representation of the brand. Nice brewery in an area that seems reserved for offices. I thought I was lost and actually drove by it. There's a nice selection of tasty beers that would please any beer fan. The interior looks like a place where some beer enthusiasts got together and decided to open a brewery. There's a patio out back as well. The bartender was great with the patrons. I ran across this Brewery coming home from a one day teaching gig in Mount Vernon. Decided to stop in. This brewery has only been open for six weeks and they are doing a great job! Lots of very diverse beers! From a very smoky taste to a light lager! The two guys that own and run the place are the nicest! Great conversation with two men that have a great version! I think they've got some growing to do, but so far they're on a fantastic track! Go support them! read more

Galena Brewing Company is a newer brewery. It's not actually in Galena. This is in Johnstown off Route 62 on the east side. It's a pretty small building. They have a good selection. It doesn't have that much room inside. So this isn't recommended for large groups. They have several seats at the bar and a few tables. All the beers have some movie reference in the name. They're all are hilariously funny and almost make you get them just for that. I had The Dude. It's a pretty good IPA. This is about $5 for a pint. It wasn't that extremely hoppy. They have a good variety from hoppy to lager styles. It's pretty hard to find. It has a sign along Route 62 but it's easy to miss. This is on the east side of town close to the service station. read more

The positives far outweigh any negatives when I really think about it. There are a ton of different beers to try. There was local food available to purchase. The owner is one of the most friendly people I've ever met. There is a TON of merch available if you find yourself wanting some swag. I got the address updated in Yelp so you should be able to find their new Westerville location and not make the long drive to their original location (that's now a car repair shop - oops). My bummer was with the beer. We both ordered a beer with flavor and felt it was a little on the light side. Maybe it's a personal preference, but when I have a peanut butter beer, I like getting smacked in the face with that flavor. I'm curious to try the Butterbeer and hope to come back soon to try it. It sounds like a crowd favorite. I'm excited to see what comes from this new brewery. read more

I did not have high expectations for Galena Brewing Company. First off, it is called Galena, but located in Johnstown (I will explain that later). When we arrived it was basically tucked back in a sort of brick strip and the front of the taproom and brewery was covered bird crap. We were the first to arrive on a Saturday. We were greeted by a friendly bartender. She showed us a menu with all their beers on tap. Just wait until you get to read through one of their beer menus, it is hilarious!!! For example, baby in a bar (Sweet Home Alabama), buzz the tower (Top Gun), dude IPA (The Big Lebowski), and shenanigans (Super Troopers). The menu alone had me cracking up and smiling. I started with a flight which consists of 5 beers of your choice. I actually liked them all. I was impressed that they were drinkable, approachable beers. Nothing too crazy. Just solid beers. The longer we stayed the happier we were. Walt, one of the two brewers/owners happened to stop in while we were there and he took the time to chat with us. He explained that he and his brewing partner live in Galena. Their original plan was to open the brewery in Galena, but as things do, the plans fell through and they were ready to open. So they found this space in Johnstown and they thought, well it is close enough, and after hanging out there, I agree. It is close enough, and I get it, when you are ready to open, you want to open. Walt is a total comedian. He kept us laughing. I believe he is behind all their awesome beer names, and of course the awesome beer. Stop in to Galena Brewing Company (in Johnstown) and you will be shocked how much you like it. Order up a Shenanigans to start and then make a new friend. Hopefully Walt is in the house! read more

I have stopped into Galena several times since they've opened and I just love how local it feels. Only the two owners work behind the bar, so after a few stops in and due to the small taproom, I feel very comfortable just stopping in for a quick beer or a flight to taste their new offerings on my own or with a friend. I love what they have created here their open minds to change to what the customer demand calls for. They're very receptive to what the paying customer wants to see more of or less of in terms of their beer selection. They accept that they're small and they're taking a chance on small town Johnstown. Thought it may be tough to accommodate large groups, since there are just a few four-top tables, they'll accommodate whomever they can to capacity and try to make it as comfortable as possible for you and yours. They have some board games, a little arcade system, two televisions for all your game watching, and some seating at the bar if you're more comfortable up there than at a table. I have tried each beer they have to offer and though I like some more than others, I am positive they're going to keep improving using their experience and customer feedback. I look forward to seeing this place grow and become a staple in the community. I'm rooting for them because they're the right kind of people that want to do the right kind of things. read more

Galena Brewing Company is a very small brewery. I visited their tap room with a group of 20 or so people and the room was packed and very loud. I think if you were to go there with only a few people the experience would be more enjoyable. Both of the men working the bar (who I think were the owners) were very friendly and helpful. One of them in particular took a lot of time to talk to my friend and I about the different beers. Almost all the beers had names that were pop culture references. I enjoyed the Frank the Tank stout. I will give this place another chance on hopefully a less busy night. read more

First off, their slogan/motto is "not traditional. Not sorry". I love it. I came in here on a Sunday and it was pretty dead but that was nice because I got to talk to the owner, Walt, (brewer, janitor, bartender - his words not mine) and he's a great guy! He runs this place with his son, Gabe. So it's super family friendly. Apparently they do crab racing, which I need to see, and live music and other events. How can you go wrong? They've been open for 2 years and I can't believe this is my first time here but this place is wonderful. It's a good spot to chill. Since I've never been here, I had to try most of the beer! Obviously! I had a couple of IPAs (Buzz the Tower is really good!) and they also have a couple guest taps to try and appeal to everyone. I also tried Hagrid's Butter Beer which was good but very sweet. This is a cool spot to hang out! And they're dog friendly in and out! And there's plenty of parking because they're kind of off the beaten path but such a cool gem to stumble across! read more

We stopped here as part of the Columbus Ale Trail. We got our beer to go and didn't stay long but the inside of the brewery is huge. There are a ton of TVs which is great for football season. The bartender (owner?) was very friendly and personable. Beer was good too! read more

I am BEYOND EXCITED to have this little gem in my hometown! We stopped by on a Saturday while a fundraiser was going on and it was jam packed! It's a small taproom, but there are lots of places to sit including a small bar, tables and chairs, a built-in bench along one of the walls and barstools along the opposite wall with a shelf for your beer. I was most impressed that the barstools were actually quite comfortable, unlike some of the other taprooms I've visited. They have games available if you wish to partake, but on the day we went, most everyone was watching the game. The owners are welcoming and friendly and are more than happy to point you to the perfect pint to please your palate. If you are still unsure, they will gladly offer you a taster before you commit. Based on what I tasted, they seem to have something for everyone, but were out of a couple we wanted to try, so we will definitely be back! They do offer flights if you wish to try a sampling of several. All of the beers have cute names based on pop culture; my favorite beer was White Men Can't Ale, a bright orange pumpkin beer served with a sugared rim. Since it was so crowded, it occurred to me that it would be nice if there was a patio out front to help with overflow, as you are currently not permitted to step outside with your beverage. Also, parking got a bit dicey on the day we were there, but if you don't mind parking on the side street, you are sure to find a spot. They also have some merch available to purchase, and additional items available on their website. Overall, this establishment exceeded my expectations and I look forward to my next visit! read more

We wanted an awesome experience to watch the packer - Seahawks game and we were in town for a 3 day weekend. We had good food up until this experience on sunday. I enjoy a great beer and the group let me pick the Galena Brewing company. Our waitress was awesome but our food experience was absolutely terrible. Burgers were out in 2 minutes and no way grilled fresh. Plain and no flovor - yuk ! Wings were not even on the radar screen for baked wings. Potato salad was plain and everyone agreed bad. Chicken soup loaded with salt and very disappointing. Beer and drinks were fine. No effort from the manager to adjust the bill when we raised our concerns. I never post a review but this ruined our weekend in Galena. read more

If you want to drink beer that tastes like popular beer flavors mixed with 50% water then this place is for you. I was incredibly let down as this is the closest brewery to me.
