Well, since Harvest closed in Clintonville this has become our replacement. All of the beers here are solid, and their deli sandwiches are amazing. I do believe they make one of the best Reubens in the Columbus area. All of their sandwiches are loaded with meat (or veggies) and the bread tastes like it is made in house. They also have a wide variety of soups and salads. For the beer, I especially like their ESB, which is the closest I have found in Columbus to a traditional English Ale Every time we have been here the service has been exceptional. The staff is always super friendly. Atmosphere at Temperance is very chill and casual. They play a nice mix of alternative/80s music and there are plenty of TVs above the bar for entertainment. If you're in the mood for exceptional deli food and very tasty beer this is the best place to find it. read more

My friend is doing the ale trail and this is one of the spots of the list! They've got a deli at the front and the bar area towards the back. We sat in the deli area since we were planning on eating. It's not a large place. A few booths and tables at the front and the bar area has more booths and bar seating. Staff was friendly! Really nice folks. They looked young, so I assume they go to Otterbein since it's next door. We ordered the pretzel to share. So so good! I was still thinking about it the next day! It smells wonderful and tastes amazing! For entrees, I got the Reuben while my friend got the pimento grilled cheese and added smoked Turkey to it. Hefty sandwiches! I like sandwiches but can't eat much of it anymore. I could only eat half. They are large and generous on the meat! Very good flavors too. It's a nice vibe! Kind of low key. It doesn't seem to be very loud in the deli area. A lot of people do get take out from here. And they have outdoor seating at the back which would be nice when the weather is warmer! I will add that the deli area was cold. Didn't feel like they had the heat on. That or they like to keep it cool in there. Parking is at the back. Free as well! Lots of spots when I came. read more

I've been here a few times and never reviewed. The beer is good and the food from the deli is great. I've had the rueben and one of their cheese/meat boards that included olives. I was in the mood for a nice warm pretzel. The pretzel is different than what I've had before at other places. It had sort of a "crust" with a pillowy soft inside. I don't think I've had a better tasting pretzel. The mustard was nice and spicy and it came with warm cheese dip. There didn't seem to be large selection of in-house brews this time around. The coffee porter (CO2 version) is my favorite. The long bar area can fill up fast. It's a good spot to watch the game on the row of TV's. Service is always good and the food comes out fast. Temperance Row Brewing has very good beer. It's located in a suburb known for its prohibition past. This makes it so surprising it has a brewery. It's attached to a good bar and restaurant. The beer selection isn't big but it has many varieties. In Westerville there used to be no bars. It was the home of the Temperance movement which tried to completely ban alcohol sales. That failed badly and now it has breweries like these. I had a Prohibition Pilsner. This is about $5 for the pint. It's smooth and not hoppy. They have other fine selections. It has a lot of nitrogen beers, which are a lot creamier and smoother. The beer is on the menu next door at Uptown Deli And Brew. It has several flights available. There's a food menu if you're hungry. If you like the local breweries fad then go to Temperance Row Brewing. It's important considering the history. Spoiler alert: This is only a brief review of the brewery, not the deli up front. Temperance Row is the brewery attached to the Uptown Deli. It's all one business, you can order beer in the front with a sandwich, or a sandwich in the rear with your beer. Columbus has really stepped up their brewery game these past few years and Temperance Row Brewing is no exception. A hidden gem in the uptown Westerville district, this is a can't-miss for any local craft beer aficionado. They usually have 5-8 beers on draft and you can do a beer flight of their regular 5. Plus there is a seasonal or two on draft (Oktoberfest hits in about one week, but the Porter has just about run dry!) I've enjoyed most of their beers (some seasonal IPAs are better than others, usually a good porter, and their pilsner and scottish ales are good) and I look forward to trying more seasonals. The atmosphere created in the tap room is just about perfect. It's a small space, but for those lucky enough to get a seat in here, it feels right at home. The bartender and other servers are knowledgeable about and proud of their beer. The decor on the walls is great and behind the bar, you'll see the tanks, which is a detail I enjoy every time I see it at a brewery. The fact that it's a deli restaurant also helps this place, because I don't feel like I need to dress to the nines for a night out. The beer is great but my food was awful. Ordered a roast beef w/ no tomatoes and got a burnt sandwich w/ no sauce. Server said that was probably because I customized it. Didn't think no tomatoes also meant no sauce. And the beef was so blackened and dry I struggled to eat it but was hungry and short on time so tried to pick the black off but still have that nasty taste in my mouth. We did a flight at temperance along with dinner. They serve deli style food. My wife had a beet salad which she thought was amazing. I had a Italian sub which was enough for two meals! I took half home. We had a order of the curds which were pretty good. The beer was great. The place was beautiful. We sat at the bar, the bartenders were talkative and friendly. Went up to Westerville to do a little shopping, so we stopped here for some lunch. We started with a beer and an appetizer. They have a great local craft brew selection with many styles. The appetizer we had was fried cheese curd and it super delicious. My wife and I shared an Italian wedding soup and chicken salad wrap. Both were just okay, and very salty. Temperance Row is a must visit during the spring and summer for me because I love their Watermelon Ale. It is served with a fresh slice of watermelon. Not only is the taste amazing, but the presentation is perfect. Every time we stop by and have a beer it is a requirement of mine that we have an order of Spicy Black Bean Hummus. Usually we have to request an additional order of pitas (for an additional cost) because their is always hummus left. I enjoy the laid back atmosphere that Temperance provides, even when they are slammed. Be prepared, most times they are busy and it is hard to find a seat at the bar. They do have an outdoor patio out back and it is perfect. The feeling out back is tranquil and the bonus is they do provide umbrellas for some shade. If I am ordering dinner I usually order their italian sub called the Paesano. I switch out the italian sub bun for their baguette bread. I always get their housemade chips and dip as my side. Temperance Row is your typical local watering hole after prohibition. It just so happens that prohibition hit a lot later in Westerville. Love the outdoor patio area complete with flowers and a small water fountain! I did not partake in any beers, but heard no complaints from my friends who did. Two of them split a roast beef sandwich that they said was pretty good. Another gorged on the house chips and dip, and I shared some of my cheese fondue plate (basically a cup of cheese with rye toast points and sliced sausage). Not sure if they were understaffed or what, but staff did seem slightly overwhelmed in trying to keep up with the tables they had. Still, our server was personable and we all eventually got what we needed. No real complaints. Part of this place is a little deli and part is a bar. They have good beers here. I got a flight of their summer wheat, pilsner, Scottish ale, IPA, and Baltic porter. All were pretty good solid beers. I was pretty impressed with their beers. Sometimes it is hit or miss when getting a flight but these were all pretty good. Service could use a little improvement but overall decent. They are located in the same location as Uptown Deli and Brew. You actually walk through the deli to get to the bar if your parked on the main street. Where better to drink a beer but where temperance movement began? Aww dry westerville. This is a perfect addition to westerville (and columbus as a whole). Lots of character with a wood/metal feel at the bar overlooking the brewery. The Pilsner was perfect for me. Hubby went Scottish and IPA. Here is where they win, two things done well: beer and sandwiches. What's not to love? Started w an order of cheese curds, I was given glares by hubby when I stole the last two. Perfection. Had the turkey chive w chips, hubby the Main Street. I'm not a big fan of corned beef, but found it delish. My only minor-ish of criticism is that maybe the deli case could be smaller to accommodate more tables. It is merchandised perfectly. When we walked in and saw the sandwiches and beers I knew we had to eat here despite the longish wait. Also the patio (albeit snow covered now) looks awesome. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the price. This place a very good feel, and atmosphere. The beer is good, and the staff is friendly. This is a perfect place to watch games at. There are plenty of televisions, and you always have a good view. The Scottish ale is great, though barleys can't be beat. The pale is pretty amazing. Damn, man...killing time in old-town W'ville (to see if an understaffed retailer that showed Sat daytime hours, but when I showed up it was dark and closed, will open back up this afternoon...post pandemic understaffed retail sucks!), so stumbled upon this craft brew-house and deli restaurant. Damn, man... their beer selection and taste (tried 3 different ones) is awesome. Was hungry, so ordered a roast beef (subbed prov fir chedd) sammich on briciotta (sic?...I dare any one to spell it correct first try) bread. The sandwich was fantastic, including biting through the r.b. cleanly on each bite, w/out tearing/pulling gristly meat. Seasoned chips on the side, which were a little dry but crunchy good tasting. I'm ordered a side of horseradish sauce for the sandwich, but ended up using it mostly to dip the chips, which worked well. Anyway, great spot to have a crafted on the premises yummy craft brew; and a really great deli sandwich. Btw, their menu has about 19 different sandwiches listed w/ at least 10 different deli meats (as it's a combo deli/craft brewery/restaurant). Well, this place has gone downhill. All the beers taste like farts, which is probably because they are brewing with malt extracts rather than mashing their grains like real brewers. I could be wrong, and I welcome a rebuttal, but everything has that sulphury nose, and thin mouth feel you get from canned malt syrups. When you're not pondering beer farts, you notice that the beers all have a dated feel to them. It's like decent home brew. Dammit, Scott, you could get away with that kind of thing back in the late 80s, but in this day and age that's just lazy and disingenuous. Please, check your ego, stop buying into all this crap about being the "godfather" of craft beer in Columbus, and show the industry, your customers, and your own legacy the respect it deserves. read more

Temperance Row was very nice. We sat outside (so I can't speak to the restaurant decor), but the patio was nicely appointed and very pretty. I had the fondue and the Polexany IPA. Both were good. Temperance Row is destined to be a Westerville landmark. The Beer - There are 6 different beers made on-site. The Christmas Ale and IPA are Nitro beers. This was new for me but blew me away. The creamy deliciousness goes on for days. The Scottish Ale is also amazing. The Food - I have only tasted a couple apps but I've been impressed. The Macedonian Bruschetta is the best I've ever had. More to come... The Vibe - There are garage doors on the front and back of the place. There is a large patio with a fire pit in the back, bar in the middle and a deli/country market in the front. It is locally owned and operated and the staff is down to earth and fun. I have to admit I'm biased because this is close to home but I'm pumped about this place! read more

My in-laws were in town and wanted to pay for my drinks, so why not go on a binge? We happened to be in Westerville, so it was perfect timing to check out TR. The space is great. The front half is a deli, which I've heard from everyone is great. There are a few booths and small tables and a large deli case. Behind that is the bar. Long concrete bar with tons of bar seating, some of the most I've seen in a bar lately (which is good, because there are very few tables away from the bar). The space is nicely lit and has good music playing. You can see through the glass wall at the back out onto the patio, which is large and looks inviting. The beer wasn't really my style. Scott Francis is the godfather of Columbus brewing, but isn't my favorite brewer. Everything is mild and malt-forward, which goes against today's trends. I'll give him credit for sticking to his guns and going against the tide. They're not badly made--in fact, they're right on for their styles. They're just not my thing. There's a full bar and other beers in bottles if you want to drink something different. It's a ways out from the city, further than I'd go for most tap rooms. If you're in the area or you're a huge fan of English-style malty beers, it's worth checking out. It's worth going once for the cool space alone. I probably won't be a regular, but it's great for the NE side of town. read more
