Loved this hidden gem of a brewery in Gahanna. The views are gorgeous and will definitely stop back when it is warmer so I can hang out outside. Enjoyed the beer options and they also have a full bar. Only complaint is there is limited food; basically pretzel bites and chips. Suggestion is to invite food trucks so people stay longer.

This is one of my favorite spots in Gahanna. Especially when someone with a dog asks me where we can go. Clear view of downtown skyline (although far) & airplanes take off from CMH airport and fly right above you. No happy hour. Mostly German style beers with some variety of others (Scottish, sours, porters, ect). Wine, liquor & cocktails offered as well. So much fun & different type of seating. Dog friendly inside & out (there's no kitchen), great fake grass area w/ rocking & Adirondack chairs, stage with live music & food trucks. Wish they had 2 food trucks at a time so you could pick what you're in the mood for (and they have the space for it!), but happy there's even one! The staff is friendly & even brought out dog bowls filled with water without us asking. Board games for you to use. This place has thought of it all!

It can be hard to distinguish between breweries, but Edison's slick, modern interior and 5-star patio are like very few others I have seen. The concert stage, airplanes flying overhead as they land at the nearby airport, downtown Columbus skyline in the distance, and magnificent sunset views are well worth the visit to this industrial strip of Gahanna east of Hamilton Road. There are also board games and food trucks onsite. And in addition to the beer, they make a mean watermelon margarita, too. Definitely one of my favorite breweries in the Columbus area.

Wonderful airport views. I don't know why we don't stop here more often and just watch the planes coming in. They are so close! They don't offer a flight option but do have half pours so you can try their different styles.

Wow, what a spot. Spectacular views of the airport. My girlfriend and I working on the Columbus trail and stop here last week. Absolutely perfect night to watch the sunset over downtown and the airport. They had live music all night and two different food trucks to choose from. Their beer is definitely more lagger heavy. Bartender was very friendly and let us have as many samples as we wanted to find the beer we liked. Can't wait to come back here!

I absolutely love the view of the sunset here it's so unreal! They have a great beer selection and plenty of space outback for the kids to run around and to relax. Airplanes do fly directly over the brewery pretty often which is a plus for the kids. The bartenders were nice and someone was played an amazing 90s r&b Playlist that had us singing on the stage lol. The only downside to this place is MOSQUITOS. I rarely get ate up in the summer but for some reason they are everywhere every time I visit.

Met my brother here for a beer after work. A great little brewery with a large outdoor area behind it with plenty of seating and a stage area for bands. They are set up for Oktoberfest right now. I had the Hilda Hefeweizen, followed by the James Helles Lager. The Hilda was outstanding, light but full of flavor, maybe one of my favorite Hefeweizen's now. The James was good, but I'm not a huge Helles fan to give it a fair rating. There were two food trucks while we were there Big Bite which is a burger truck, the burgers I saw people eating looked great. They also had the Schmidt's Sausage truck, which you can never go wrong with visiting. I picked up a mixed six pack on the way out and can't wait to try their other beers. The brewery employees were all great, professional and friendly.

Came here for a brewery tour on a Saturday night. It was so nice to have the owner give a tour. It was well done and very informative. This is a great spot in Gahanna and the sunset views of Columbus are really nice!! They make classic beers based on the owners travels through Germany. They also had a food truck and live music! I can't wait to come back!

Turn into the office park. Turn right at the construction dead end. You will be thinking..."is there really going to be beer here?" Next to the golf club, you find the most unlikely place for a brewery. When you see the view of Columbus you understand the appeal. It is up on a hill near the airport and has an amazing view of the city. I would love to see it at night. Great outdoor patio space. Only negatives are very limited shade, and needed some music to liven up the atmosphere. Lots of families with kids and the patio is dog friendly. They also have a rack full of board games you can play and people were enjoying those. I am not a beer drinker, but enjoyed the margarita. Very limited cocktail options if you don't drink beer. They had a Mexican food truck onsite. Bring your golf clubs and make a Sunday Funday out of it.

Great local brewery. BiF place. Will definitely wanna go back when it's warm enough for the lovely looking patio. Popped in here with friends before dinner. Not just craft beer, lots of great drinks and cocktails too!!

Edison is the perfect place for a night out with friends and family. The selection isn't extensive but it's just right. They have half pints, pints, etc. and the staff are super friendly! If you want to try something, they give you a little beaker and it's just the greatest thing ever! Not specific to Edison, but the G.O.A.T. red ale and Grizzly Pear are delicious. I went out with some girlfriends and we sat and played a game while having some drinks. Then a few nights later, my husband hung out with some guy friends on the patio and my son and I played corn hole while watching the sunset. The place has an open concept and the outdoor area is perfect for a family with kids who want to run around. They have a fire pit and chairs and tables where you can bring in your own food and have a great night. Definitely recommend!

There are so many different craft breweries in Central Ohio these days, but Edison Brewing manages to really stand out amongst the crowd. Many local craft breweries make mostly IPAs... so you might get a flight of beers and still end up with all IPAs. Regular IPA, West Coast IPA, New England IPA, Double/Triple/Quadruple IPA, Milkshake IPA... in the end they're all beers that are often too bitter for a casual beer drinker. I like IPAs, but I've heard complaints about the overproliferation of IPAs from others. So looking at the beer list at Edison Brewing is refreshing, with a wide variety of beer types represented. There's a helles lager, a kellerbier, a biere de garde, a winter weizen... mostly European styles. You might need to Google a few of those styles. (I definitely did not know what a biere de garde was!). They also have "guest taps" of beers from elsewhere in the US and even some from Germany and Spain. They also have a respectable list of bourbons and other whiskies as well as a few wines by the glass. I should also point out what a nice building they have. It's a new modern building with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They have a solid view of the Columbus airport and downtown Columbus since the brewery is located on top of a small hill. My visit was on a dreary February day, but I could definitely see the potential for an amazing view on a clear day. The brewery is also kids friendly. They have a cabinet full of toys to keep your kids busy while you have a glass or two. I saw some Legos, Magne-tiles, and puzzles. The only wish I have for them is that they start offering flights. I like to try different types of beers when I visit a new brewery but currently they only offer half or full glasses. Since I only got to try 2 beers last time, I guess I'll have to come back again to try more!

Cozied up to the bar on a chilly Sunday in March. The bartender was very warm, welcoming and informative when it came to their offerings. I settled on their Porter and it was very good. They also have seasonal drink offerings so I tried their take on an old fashioned, also great. The bartender informed us their patio is pet friendly in the warmer months and they do food trucks as well.

The focus on the beer was mostly on lagers, which I love. Only negative: the man pouring the taps there one of the nights has no clue what he was talking about. I asked him the difference between two of the bocks they had on tap (a helles bock and a maibock...debately the same style, if not very similar) and he said "how strong the Belgian yeasts are" in a very confident tone. I told him I had never heard of bocks being made with Belgian yeasts, and he said it's "a Cincinatti thing". I got a taste of the beer, and there were no phenolics (for non beer nerds: it had no Belgian flavors) so I ordered one and didn't argue.

We hit up several breweries on a recent trip to Columbus, and Hoster was my favorite beer of the trip. It was just well made, good tasting beer - nothing crazy. To top it off, there's bottomless self-serve popcorn and a vintage jukebox topped with a bowl of free quarters to play your favorite selctions from the decades. The collections of artifacts from Hoster's storied histories, make the walk to the bathroom like a visit to a mini-museum. I loved the homey decor and selection of tables, barstools, and comfy chairs. This place was somewhat family friendly, but it's not a huge space, so it's not great for tots that like to run around. I believe there might have been soooome seasonal outdoor seating, but nothing crazy. Lots of parking and easily accessible. The bartender was super welcoming, friendly, and generous! We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, and it wasn't super busy - that was welcomed! Hoster is worth a visit if you're ever in the area. Their brews rival the big names in the area.

It's close to the airport so it worked for me and even better, the beers worked for me! It was pretty slow on a Saturday afternoon. The outside seating area was empty with a few people sitting at the bar inside. It was comfortable and friendly, which I was always appreciate. I trued four beers with a couple being specifically recommended by the gent working the bar. I didn't get his name but he is also one of the brewers. Crumble vanilla ale had a great vanilla aroma and flavor. Light color and light body and very good. Cosmic Fog DIPA was very tasty with a lot of hop flavor to it but not overpowering bitterness. Toasted Tones lager was pretty good. I would liken it to a light amber ale. SWPFTD would have liked this one. High Priest honey milk stout was a nice stout with the expected flavors but that little honey flavor hiding under the roastiness. I would have liked to stay longer, try more beers, and chat with the brewer longer but alas I had to fly home. Do me a favor and try the beers I didn't for me please! First, they've got an excellent outdoor area -- plenty of seating, shade and sun, great vibe out there. I appreciated the selection and variety of beers available, as well as the quality: for instance, they had a great oatmeal stout on draft that was not too heavy, and a pear cider that was not too sweet; both highly drinkable and enjoyable. I recommend getting a flight and trying a few things. The food experience was a mixed bag: there's a great variety of options, from burgers, to wings, to Mediterranean rice and chicken platters. (Note: they are very strict about no substitutions for anything on the menu, but there's a lot to choose from to satisfy most tastes). Perhaps because of this great variety, it takes a long time for the food to come out. We ordered at the counter and it was over a half an hour for the food to appear. The mushroom Swiss burger was quite tasty (I do wish lettuce and tomato and other toppings were options for the burgers, though, as I always wish for a little bit of cold crispiness with it), and we opted for the dirty Fries, which had a House sauce and scallion mix on top, which were also good. The honey lemon pepper wings were very well cooked, nice and crispy; however, the sauce really just tasted like heavy melted butter with a tiny touch of sweetness-- no lemon, or pepper to be found. For brewery food and experience, it was very satisfying, and I would come back again. One other note, though: the place is 21 and up after 7 PM, and they are extremely vigilant (even aggressive?) about it. I did not have children with me, but there were a couple very well behaved groups with kids around us, and the families were told around seven, but they needed to start packing up and leaving. There's also a ton of signs about it. I appreciate an adult only space, but 7:00 seemed a little early and it brought a kind of negative feeling when groups of patrons who were being pleasant / quiet/ respectful were asked to leave. (Also, there was a family with older teens who are clearly not 21 who are not asked to leave-- if you're going to say 21 and up, it feels odd to just target folks with a baby, or a 10-year-old...). Just something to consider as you decide on if / when you visit and with whom.
