This place is absolutely amazing! Attention is paid to every detail from the food to the service and ambiance. With no microwave or freezer in the building, the emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients is evident (frankly, it makes all the difference!) My spouse and I went for a short road trip with our autistic son and decided to try out this restaurant, boy are we glad we did! Allie was our server and this lady deserves the recognition! We go to Surve couple times every month, quality food, very clean, reasonable prices. I'm recovering from recent hip replacement surgery, must use a walker during recovery. My disappoint arose when I tried to leave. My wife had left to get the car, so I was shuffling toward the front door, past three hostesses just standing doing nothing within 6 ft of the entrance. I was struggling to get the door open, while also moving my walker forward, all three hostess simply watched my efforts, not one moved or offered to hold the door. I finally managed. I don't "expect" help from anyone, Surve you can do better. read more

I love this restaurant! It is such a fun place to go for a casual dinner. Half of the restaurant is full service dine-in, and the other half you order at the front and they bring it out to you. You are able to order drinks at the bar even if you are not seated full-service. I got the French dip and it was incredible, it tasted very fresh and I loved how many options for sides they have. My parents and I went to groovy plants ranch and were naturally SUPER hungry after, (who wouldn't be after rummaging around and buying too many plant babies) they suggested we stop in this place for an early dinner. They insisted we sit on the bar side as the staff will take your order at your table unlike the other side where your order and the counter and then it is self service from there. I'm happy we did that because our server was awesome ! She had some great recommendations for us. I loved the farmhouse/ modern decor and feel to the place, it seemed really clean, cool and casual. The food : The eggs were soo good.. I don't like deviled eggs but these were so unique and full of flavor. The grilled shrimp appetizer was pretty good but i would probably try a different item in the future. I was debating over the fish tacos and another dish and the server helped me decide on the tacos and boom so glad she was there as a guide. They were amazing. The fish was super fresh and the toppings were flavorful and crisp, perfect mix for fish tacos. My mom loved her chicken tenders and dad his chicken, those brussel sprouts are definitely something to write home about, cooked to perfection with no bitterness Now let me get to the real deal, that key lime pie, Oh, MY. We were in town and ordered takeout from a restaurant closer to us, but they cancelled it so we had to find another option. Even though this was almost 20 minutes away, we are grateful it worked out the way it did because the food was SO good. Everything was fresh, light, healthy, and flavorful. We had the salmon, brussel sprouts, burger, and kids meals. The chicken tenders for the kids had the perfect ratio of light breading and were expertly fried. Ranch was delicious. We were in town for a wedding and my husband unexpectedly needed to visit urgent care. We found Surve because it was just down the street from his appointment. It's a cute little spot right in the town square. One half is full service and the other fast casual. Since the tables were all occupied in full service, we opted for the fast casual. I ordered the Seasonal Salad and a side of Mac & Cheese and husband the burger. Overall my salad was good, but a little too much of the light yellow part of the romaine for me. The mac and cheese was quite good, I recently had some not so great baked mac and cheese, so it hit the spot. Overall, we were pleased with our meal. read more

My wife ordered a Prime Rib sandwich, and I ordered a Rubin sandwich. We decided to share the 2 sandwiches. I couldn't decide between the Rubin or 2 other dishes. Stopped in late Saturday night after some shopping at Tanger Outlets with my brother. We came in about 30-45 minutes before close but we're still greeted with a nice smile and made welcome. We both ordered the Surve burger, mine with fries, my brothers with fruit. They gave us a number and we sat ourselves and waited for the food. As we walked away I saw a cook prepare the patties so I knew everything was fresh which was a great start. The food took maybe 10-15 minutes to come out, which was no problem at all. We both asked for our burgers to be cooked medium and they were definitely well done. However they still had plenty of juice in them and not dry at all, definitely lost some of the flavor. But still a good burger and nothing to complain about. The fries were perfect, like fair fries almost. Skin-on deep fried potatoes and the fruit was also fresh and delicious. It was definitely good food, maybe a little on the pricy side at $11 for a burger and fries, but nothing too crazy. Some of the other entrees were $20+ though. Visited this cute little place on our way home from work. The setup is a little different but it works. One side you can order and then help yourself the other it's full service. Just a heads up if you are a weirdo like me that has to have a straw, bring your own they do not have any. We started with the deviled eggs, they were so cold almost frozen with hardly no taste just a crunch from the bacon. I was a little worried that my husband ordered a filet and I ordered steak for my salad after trying the eggs. I had no reason to worry, my husband said the steak was really good and my salad was so fresh it was all delicious! We will be back again, the burgers looked really good. read more

So pumped to have stumble across this great restaurant in the sleepy little town of Sunbury. The concept has two areas, one you walk in and order then sit down and they bring the food. Awesome for families with kids that can appreciate quick service and the dinner delivered to the table quickly. Also good for lunch, if you don't have a lot of time. The other side is traditional full service, sit down and order from a waiter or waitress and you know that drill. The inside decor was nice, clean and welcoming. The staff where super friendly and helpful AND the food was GREAT and priced right!!! I didn't get pictures because it was a work lunch BUT I'm going back very soon and will update the post. I liked this place. It had really cute decOr & loved the option of sitting in the bar or the dining room. We opted for the bar so we could indulge in a glass of wine & chat before ordering our lunch. They have an interesting set-up where you can order at the counter and sit, or go into the other dining room and order with a server. My friend and I ate at the bar with a server. Most of their menu items are from scratch. Meat is cut in-house. I had a burger, it had had good flavor. It was very filling and the prices were respectable. A wonderful addition to Sunbury and a stop to add to your must-experience list! I'm not local to Sunbury. When my mom visits me, we take a drive and visit a small town. I always pick a locally owned restaurant to get an early dinner. This trip was to Sunbury and I picked Surve for dinner. The owner greeted us and explained the concept (dining area vs bar area) to us since it was our first time there. We chose the dining area and our lovely waitress, Allie, brought our ribeye steaks (cooked to our preferences, perfection!) to us. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! My husband and I met another couple at Surve last Saturday night totally impromptu. This establishment is owned by a girlfriend's nephew so naturally, I was very curious. Vodka Lemonade. Yes, please and thank you to the tune of 3. :) The apps are great and the food was also good. I would call it simple options but with a LOT of taste. So please go into it with a more sophisticated view of what looks like simple options with a lot of power to their punch. Love local business owners. So nice to get away from franchise and chain options. We have those that are fantastic, however, local owners very much speak to my heart. We have been meaning to try this for a bit and finally made it in last night. It was a Saturday, moderate crowd for a cold rainy day. We chose to go Full Service. It had a 5-10 minute wait, just enough time to order and enjoy a round a drinks. I chose the house made Margarita. It was made perfectly, not too sour, just the right amount of salt. I recommend those. Then we got seated at the bar. The staff was very friendly and talked us through a few of the menu items because I was having trouble deciding. I finally went with the Fish Tacos with hard shell corn tortillas. My guest chose Chicken Tenders, Mac & Cheese, and French Fries (he called it his kid's meal). For me the fish was cooked perfectly. They were pretty large tacos and were stuffed with goodness. Things like avocado, cabbage slaw, a really good sauce on top, but it was missing a kicker. If it was served with a side of spicy salsa, or had just a touch of Cajun seasoning it would have really kicked it up a notch for me. The chicken tender were juicy and tender. The Mac and cheese was good and the fries were delicious! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the food, and the service. I will definitely return to try that Italian Sausage! read more

This place is pretty cool. It's like a pleasant surprise in the area that it is located in. It's almost as though you wouldn't expect for such a place to exist where it is currently located. I was expected a greasy dive spot rather than the sterile, well put together immaculate environment that I found myself in. I drove all the way from Gahanna, Ohio just to check this place out. I must say that it did not disappoint. I got the burger and fries and finished it with a chocolate chip cookie. Let me just say that I am a big burger and pizza person. So I had to try the burger. I am super glad that I did. I typically get my burgers well done. As most of you know it's hard to make a juicy burger when you get it well done but they managed to make this magical feat come true. Aside from the juiciness of it. The grade of beef was top notch and you could taste the freshness of it. It was also seasoned quite well. This spot goes on my list for one of the places to get a great burger. The fries didn't disappoint either. They call them punch fries but they are reminiscent to me of fresh cut fries. The cookie was great too. Get it warmed up though. The staff here is very accommodating and pleasant. First, I was so super excited to have a mom and pop restaurant open up closer to home with a variety of items on their menu. The first time we came here, both me and my spouse ordered a hamburger. It was OK, I guess I was expecting more, but there was nothing "special about it." Simply a hamburger and fries. Our little had mac and cheese, but it look like it had been sitting there awhile (clumpy, not creamy). We decided to give SURVE another shot, this time I ordered the veggie pasta (sans zucchini noodles) and my hubby ordered the cajun chicken sandwich. While my meal looked great, it lacked overall flavor. It was also apparent that someone was really heavy-handed with the dried rosemary/thyme. The rule of thumb when using dried spices/herbs is less is more, it's more a concentrated flavor. There was so much spice that it overpowered the rest of the dish. Also, the dish was lacking some acidity and some nuttiness, which could have been accomplished by adding a light layer of parmasaen cheese and a balsamic reduction to the top of the pasta. I had so much leftover, it will go to waste, because the herbs overpower the rest of the dish. My husband said his chicken sandwich was OK, not great, not awful. I'm hoping flavors and overall dishes get better, but I think we'll wait on visiting here again. I really wanted to like it. read more

I'm so excited to write Surve's first review! Surve is a quaint little place located in the town square of Sunbury, offering a menu that is made fresh daily--no microwaves, no freezers! It is exactly the kind of place that this town needed, and appears to be hitting it off with a bang. The set up is kind of like Northstar Cafe, where you place your order with the cashier and then find a table. They do have a full service area at the counter/bar, which is where we sat. Brittany was our bartender/server and she was very friendly and makes a delicious Bloody Mary. They have a variety of craft beer in cans, several kinds of spirits and a good selection of wine. There are a couple TV screens at the bar to catch your favorite sporting event. The menu is small, but there is a variety of selections from steak to fish tacos. My friend ordered the salmon entree and I got the All American Burger. My burger was delicious, but the bun got soggy quickly. Other than that, I have no complaints! The food is great quality, prices are very reasonable, service was very friendly and we had a nice chat with the owner's wife.
