This place has had several post lately so I was excited to give it a try. Starting off inside dining very small and needed cleaned a bit. Waffle fries with cheese was very good, however the sandwiches are pretty much what you can get anywhere. The one thing that was done right was the toasted bun, not just a cold bun. read more

In honor of national chicken month, I had to review this place. I had to try the chicken and waffles. Cute play on using waffle fries for the "waffles". The chicken is boneless wings. I went with the spicy garlic sauce. It wasn't that spicy but had a small kick. We also got the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. It as a great size chicken filet to bun ratio. The secret sauce with the sandwich was excellent. Best part of the meal was the White Mac and Cheese. It had a thick and rich sauce which is must for a good Mac and Cheese. I ordered 6 counts of Tofu wings with Teriyaki sauce, 6 counts Classic wings with OG bbq sauce, Cornbread and White Cheddar Mac. The Tofu wings is thick cut tofu coated with breading and deep fried. I actually like it as the breading is not too thick and pair well with the Teriyaki sauce. I thing I would order again next time. Their classic wings is on point as well and super juicy inside. Remember not to overlook their side as well. That white cheddar mac can easily top my favorite here. Super cheesy and creamy, topped with shaved parmesan. Okay, I'm now an OX-B's fan. I thought they were overhyped, but visits to two locations have confirmed that it's good stuff. We had good service at both locations. Prices are reasonable for the quantity and quality. This time my mom got a sandwich and said it was really good (though she wished for mayo instead of their special sauce, but we asked, no mayo.) Baby K got a kid's meal with boneless wings, and we swapped in mac for the side (I get the impression that is not normal, but they made it work.) We got the yellow mac; K was not impressed. Basically said meh. The chicken was really good: big chunks, fried up nice, with a little seasoning. She also had some of mom's fries and liked them. I had to try the deep fried coney dogs. Somehow I expected the whole thing to be dunked (what a mess) but just the dogs are. They make a fine platform for really good chili, plus cheese and chives. I really liked 'em. I also got slaw, creamy, fresh, big chunks of cabbage mixed with smaller bits. Really good. I miss Chef Rich's, but this is a worthy replacement. Small, and they were busy with mainly carryout orders on a Friday evening, but they took care of us too. read more

Amazing employees! Greeted upon entry. They really take their time to make the food and let me tell you it's definitely worth the wait. Ordered smoked sweet bbq wings (BEST I have ever tasted), onion rings (so delicious), waffle fries (tasty), they threw in some cheese waffle fries (melts in your mouth) & fried pickles (not sure the breading they used but man oh man it was amazing). We will definitely come back. The inside is quaint to eat in. It's not big but that's ok. They do have outside eating as well. FYI: they have purchased a food truck, so be on the look out. Service was average Ambiance small and average Food was a tab below average. You can taste that the wings aren't marinated. They are just fried and tossed in sauce. I wouldn't go back because you can make it better at home. The place is small so big groups would work. read more

Great lunch spot, unfortunate location? Stopped by for a weekday lunch. I ordered a sweet BBQ chicken tender wrap, side of cornbread, side of white mac and cheese. My guy ordered the waffle fry boneless wings special for $10. Spicy garlic wing sauce. It said it was 7/10 he felt it was more 5/10 in spice. Great flavor, though again he wanted spicier. We took advantage of the patio seating, a few tables outside. Nothing special to look at on Cleveland avenue, but it was a nice day and not as loud as I would have expected being so close to 270. This place never misses. The food is always delicious and I have never gotten anything I didn't like. It's more of a service station type of restaurant and it can get busy so safe to assume 20ish minutes to get your order- but it's always hot and fresh. The place is small so it can get crowded, but there are a few tables inside and a couple outside. I attended the grand opening and as a result have been back nearly weekly. I have visited the OX-B's in Newark several times and was estactic when I saw they were opening one in Westerville. We finally got to visit one day, and were not disappointed. This location is just as good as the Newark location. The service was friendly. It is a small space with a few tables indoors and a couple of tables outside. They were hopping with orders both dine in and to-go. I recommend the waffles fries and chicken dish that is served together. I got it topped with chili after a recommendation from the cashier, and YUM! It was an excellent recommendation! Their cornbread and fresh fried cracklins are a must try too! Needless to say I usually end up ordering more than I really need to eat, but leftovers are not a bad thing. read more

Good enough! I expect better for a place that wings are the primary focus. I believe these are frozen, not fresh wings. I usually can tell with a good degree of accuracy, but it's easier to tell with the "flappers" rather than the drums but in our order of 12 we only got one flapper. We always get Buffalo Hot as our sauce when first visiting a wing place. the heat level was appropriate for that description. Ordered waffle fries and they were unremarkable and probably also frozen. I love Chick -FilA's waffle fries, but these were again, adequate. I thought the wing prices seemed a little high averaging $1.50 to almost $2. per order according to the menu, but our order of 12 had 15 wings. We decided to dine in ther small dining room. But our order was bagged and handed to us. Had to get a 2nd box to throw the wing bones into. At first the fountain Pepsi didn't work, carbonation only, but they fixed it. My wife said the sweet tea was good. i'm happy to have more choices in our area as businesses are moving out of the area faster than they are moving in. Its on the Columbus/Westerville borders, so its just outside the Northland ghetto. I hope they make it, but I don't see us going back with any regularity. read more

Stopped in for the opening today. A lot of activity being that it was their grand opening. Ordered the bone in wings, Dry hickory bbq flavored, they are smoked with a hickory/apple blend. They were kind of tasteless. Ordered the Onion Rings which were a premium frozen onion rings. There were plenty of them and they give you a small container of ketchup. Good idea. Also had the Yellow Mac, way to much cheese, lack of real flavor. Also had the White Cheddar Mac which was nice and creamy but overly salty. The coleslaw was a nice blend of vegetables but the dressing was a little salty also. Ordered a piece of cornbread which was way too dry. The super good thing were the Baked Beans which had a great texture and taste to them. They were the star this day. They did short me on the chili and cornbread. Will I go back, without a doubt. I will chalk this up to first day chaos. Andrew and his crew were keeping up and I am sure they will be successful. Called ahead for pick up. Still very warm when we got it home. Liked the idea of the small recycled boxes. Everything labeled very nicely to separate everyone's orders. Plenty of napkins and forks. Came in sturdy bags to help carry a larger order. Now the food. Keeping it simple. I ordered two chili dogs and waffle fries. I love a simple dog and toppings. This was nothing fancy. However it looked really good when I opened the package. Nice hot, smelled great, they kept it simple to enjoy the flavors, and they came thru nicely. The waffle fries were not drowned in the cheese sauce, and the chili lime seasoning was very nice. I will have to try other items on the menu. So yes I will be going back. Order UberEats pick up, when I arrived they were still packing my order. The employees were super kind. A small shop, definitely looks bigger on the outside. It was super clean and calm inside. Prices seem to be $1 more on Uber than in store. The food was delicious though! We got 2 6 count boneless, one mild Buffalo and one spicy garlic. Both were not as spicy as I was expecting. The buffalo was a little sweet. But both were really delicious. The pork rinds we're delicious some of the best I've had. We also got yellow and white Mac. It was only logical that Ox-AB's would go into Lee Plaza on Schrock road given the brand's history. Rusty Ward moves? Ox-B's sets up shop in a container store in the parking lot as the surrounding area is redeveloped. Son of Thurman on Broad goes away? Ox-B's is now in the location. So now that Chef Rich is no longer in the cramped corner space Ox-B's has come to town. The first thing that impressed me was the signage out front showing how to get into the parking lot. Hopefully they will be able to find a permanent solution as that was always a concern. The second surprise was being able to go in the front door, as that was traditionally exit only. More than one regular of the former location used the side entrance during my brief visit. Inside things are much more open than at other Ox-B's locations, sides and wing sauces are prominently displayed below an order screen. I dove right in ordering the parmesan Garlic wings, wood fire garlic wings and spicy garlic wings all boneless and a grilled Caesar salad. I also ordered both the yellow and white cheddar Mac and cheese. As I waited for my order it surprised me that there was now room for two sets of tables and the impressive amount of patio seating now available. I also marveled for a brief moment that the lime green roof of Morgan Spurlock's Holy Chicken (the site where he filmed his Supersize Me 2) was so visible still years later right across Cleveland Avenue. When my food was ready it travelled well in their crisp white logo bag. At home everything was still warm and tasted amazing. read more

First time visit. The good: Staff was kind and welcoming. The bad: ordered the garlic jalapeño sauce for my wings. I figured that with two powerful flavor combinations I could not go wrong. I was wrong. This sauce has zero flavor and shouldn't be on the menu. The ugly: ordered the smoked wings, there was zero smokeyness to the wings. Generally smoked meat has a reddish tint to accompany the smoke flavor . These wings were light brown. They may have been baked wings. I will try them again at some point but this visit was unimpressive. read more
