Happy hour, $7 gumbo. Delicious! Has some heat to it!

Amazing happy hour! And on Saturday's! $7 cocktails and small plates. Sat at the bar and recieved wonderful service. The drinks were delicious... and strong! For $7, you can't go wrong. Had the okra, gumbo and bbq shrimp small plates. Each was great, and yes, $7 ea. We shared the blackened catfish entree. Everything was amazing. Loved the pimento cheese grits! Can't wait to go back and try more drinks and menu items.

Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Food 3.5/5 Subourbon was recommended to us by the team of the sister restaurant Alaqueria Farmhosue (our fav!) so we had to try. Finally went in the midst of a snow storm to get some southern inspired food. Lovely atmosphere with cozy but modern style. Service is top notch and quick. Menu is the perfect size with something for everyone. We scored with happy hour specials and tried cornbread, kfc bites, pork belly and crispy Brussels. Also split a fried chicken Sammy. Sammy was brilliant, perfect cooked moist and delicious. Fried were good but seasoning was herby and wasn't my cup of tea. Apps were good but we were kind of underwhelmed with the flavor. Personal preference for something to zazz up Brussels and the kfc bites were very soy forward. That being said ingredient quality and execution were great! My bf really loved the pork belly and I loved the Smokey tomato jam. Solid meal, entree was great!

I really enjoyed this place! Comfortable warm decor. Good bourbon list with some barrel picks. They also have a nice cocktail list with several takes on an old fashioned. And some are on happy hour! The night we went (a Wednesday), they had a special bourbon pour for $8. All very nice with knowledgeable friendly staff. We had a bunch o' appetizers. I had pork belly and KFC (K=Korean in this case). Enjoyable, novel resented, and filling! My friend had BBQ shrimp and deviled eggs and loved them both! Definitely will return!

Never had a bad meal here. They have an incredible bourbon selection, as expected, but also wine, cocktails, beer and spirit free options. We started with a round of cocktails including the Manhattan and the mule, both were balanced and well made. We then ordered the hot brown and the meatloaf. The hot brown is a different take on the traditional dish but it was still delicious. The meatloaf was also good especially since we were able substitute in the Brussel sprouts. We ended the meal with delicious desserts and had fantastic service. Would come back here again and again.

The food is outstanding! We tried this place because we were on this side of town and we were so shocked by everything. The service was great. You couldn't name a bourbon that wasn't on the menu. Very cool ambiance. The outdoor patio was so nice!

Happy Hour Done Right: My Visit to Subourbon in Linworth If you're in the Worthington/Linworth area after 4 pm, your new best friend is Subourbon--a Southern-inspired kitchen & spirits spot that nails happy hour like nobody's business. Happy Hour Highlights From Monday through Saturday, 4-6 pm, Subourbon goes all-in on good‑times specials: * $5 draft beers * $6 glasses of wine * $7 selected cocktails (featured favorites include Summer Peach Old Fashioned, Bourbon Paloma, Bruce2, and Sub‑Beet‑A‑Rita) * $7 small plates, with delicious bites like corn & jalapeño cheddar cornbread, BBQ shrimp, fried green tomatoes, deviled eggs with candied bacon, K.F.C. bites, pork rinds, gumbo, catfish fingers & fried okra, plus more Yelp even ranks it the top happy hour in the Linworth area--#1 out of the local batch . A Snapshot of the Spread * BBQ Shrimp - Cajun-spiced shrimp in buttery garlic sauce, ideal for sopping with grilled baguette. * Fried Green Tomatoes - That tangy, crisp combo with shaved Parmesan and chipotle ranch. * K.F.C. Bites - Korean-style chicken bits in a sweet-chili glaze, served with ranch. * Cornbread - Warm, cheesy, slightly jalapeño--Southern comfort in every bite. And if you're here for dinner post‑HH, their full offerings are also stellar: think Hot Chicken Sandwich, Catfish Po'Boy, Grilled Cheese with pimento & candied bacon, hearty entrees, and a full whiskey lineup . What the Spot Feels Like Inside, Subourbon is comfortably casual--plenty of wood and Southern charm. There's a lively bar scene that bounces to that "happy hour crowd" vibe. The space isn't huge, so snagging a barstool or table can feel like the win of the night. But here's the kicker: they've got a small patio/outdoor dining area, perfect for sipping a Paloma or sampling deviled eggs in the evening breeze . It feels relaxed, social, and just energetic enough--not too wild, not too mellow. Why It Works Subourbon isn't just slinging deals--they're delivering quality and creativity in small bites. With that mix of crispy, zesty, creamy flavors and a lineup of enticing cocktails, it's easy to linger past 6 pm. Friendly staff, a well‑curated whiskey collection, and a warm atmosphere wrap it all up into an experience that leaves you planning your next visit before you even pay the check. Wrap & Take The Trip If happy hour for you means pairing adventurous bites with vibrant drinks in an inviting setting, Subourbon has your name written all over it. Monday-Saturday, 4-6 pm is when you absolutely take that trip to Linworth--grab drinks, graze the appetizers, and let the relaxed Southern hospitality carry you into the night. Sometimes the best celebration is low‑key... with high‑flavor backing. Take the trip.

A ceramic plate holds a beef dish with a brown gravy, accompanied by mashed potatoes and green vegetables, likely broccolini. The plate is on a wooden table with various drinks, including a glass of white wine, glasses of water, and a glass of cola. The setting appears to be a restaurant with multiple glasses and utensils visible on the table.

Wow! Attended a Birthday Celebration and it was at Subourbon, super cute rustic whiskey comfortable place. Food; we did come and it happened to be Happy Hour, so I tried almost all the appetizers my favorites if I had to name a couple would be the cornbread, deviled eggs, and a special cheese dish of the day. Everything was tasty and delicious. My main entrée was the Short Ribs, and they were YUM meat was tender and seasoned perfect. Wine was refreshing, and perfect. Service; Our server Mike was the best, we had a larger party and he was just great and worked the table with elegance.

Excellent dinner and good vibes. Spacious and clean with various seating options. Bourbon selection is top notch as well as the draft line. We enjoyed our deviled eggs and dip appetizer. Great flavor for both. The fried chicken was amazing. Great crisp yet tender and juicy chicken. Mac and cheese was good and the Brussels sprouts were outstanding. Service was friendly and on top of things. Highly recommend a visit here. Good vibes!

Nice establishment. AMAZING food. HUGE selection of liquor. With Great service. Apps started with the pork rinds. Not my preferred taste or texture but the cheese sauce that accompanied it was delightful. My friend still devoured them. The blackened catfish, perfectly executed with seasoning, great tasting greens and the cheesy grits were to die for. the fish was perfectly cooked and topped with the holey trinity and crawfish etouffee that was just so desirable to the taste buds. The Pan roasted salmon was delightful as well with the fresh seasoned string green beans, perfectly fluffy mashed potatoes and salmon that was top tier. Everything was devoured and it was a great place to catch up with a friend and an even better place to score some phenomenal food. Worth every penny.

A fantastic gem we found this week! We stopped in for happy hour and had a great experience. Staff were friendly and attentive., food was so flavorful and service was incredibly fast without missing a step. We ordered: cornbread, KFC bites, BBQ shrimp, and the beet salad. Everything came out fast, but was so well seasoned. The birds of a paradise cocktail was refreshing. The restaurant was casual and elegant. Could be a great spot for any occasion really with a banger HH menu. Would highly recommend.

It was a sweet surprise to get to try this little spot. We switched up our plans with our friends and I was able to snag a reservation here the day of. It's a small place with a cute little patio. We started with the k.f.c. bites (Korean fried chicken) and the cornbread, both of which were delicious! My husband and I split a bottle of wine and our friends tried some bourbon and cocktails and everyone enjoyed their drinks and food. I got the gumbo and a side of Mac and cheese and was extremely pleased! Our waitress was really sweet and helpful as well. The food here takes you straight to NOLA and doesn't disappoint

Local Mushroom Pasta, Hot Chicken Sandwich with Collard Greens
    Tristan T.

Visited Subourbon for the first time and we had a very pleasant time, the service was excellent and wait staff was super friendly. We came during happy hour so our cocktails and appetizer were each $7. The KFC bites were pleasantly light, with a fine breading and delicious soy chili sauce - but it was not spicy at all. For the entrees we had the hot chicken sandwich with collard greens, and local mushroom pasta. We both ate every bite and were satisfied! The curry crema was really flavorful over the pasta and again not spicy at all. Definitely a unique dish that I haven't had anywhere else, and the flavors worked together nicely. My husband enjoyed the hot chicken sandwich and collard greens, but wished he had a dipping sauce for the sandwich so would order a side of ranch next time with it. I will definitely come back for another visit especially during happy hour! I think visiting in warm weather would be better, as they had a large patio space that is unusable in January and even seated inside I noticed heaters were necessary to keep the cold out.

    Restaurant Week meatloaf to go
    Jennifer R.

It can be hard to judge a restaurant by a Restaurant Week menu alone. I understand they are feeding the masses at a discounted price point. That said, it did not feel like Subourbon brought their "A" game to the food. Everything tasted like it had no seasoning at all, and so very little flavor. The meatloaf was fine but nothing special. Green beans were hard and undercooked. I was so looking forward to the peanut butter pie dessert, but only ate one bite. It was a total sugar bomb and you could barely taste any peanut butter. This honestly warranted a 2 star review for the food, but the staff was awesome and our takeout order was both ready on time and well packaged.

I had a glass of red blend wine with my entree, which was the Pan-Seared Salmon. My two chosen sides were the mashed potatoes and fried okra. The salmon was perfectly cooked; it was a great dish. Plenty of other things on the menu looked good. And all of the sides sounded good. I ended up getting one that was a mix of cabbage and greens, instead of getting the two separately, so that gave me space for another side. I went with mac & cheese. Sweetie's mom's mac is the best in the world. I'm not kidding. This is not quite that good, but is a very good homemade version, loaded with cheese, and baked in a big pan. Service was excellent. Prices are a bit steep, but good for the quantity and quality. Canned pop. Cheap plasticware. I was leery, but the pork chops were so tender that even a plastic knife pulled them apart easily. Hardly needed it. The place is not fancy inside. Old, but clean, a few booths and tables. You're there for the food, not the decor. Or, come in and pick it up and take it home.
