We decided to try Tupelo's because of Restaurant Week July 2026. We unfortunately couldn't order off the restaurant week menu because they only offered it for dinner and we came for lunch. But they had an offer of 2 for $22. My husband got the smash burger (two patties with the fixings on a potato roll) with Mac and cheese. I originally wanted the pulled pork. Unfortunately their distributor was unable to provide it. Kristen, more about her in a second, was so apologitic, gave us biscuits with real butter and blueberries and honey as an appetizer to make up for not having the pulled pork. I ordered their chicken tenders with crispy brussel sprouts. The chicken tenders were hand breaded white meat. They were tender and juicy and not greasy. I choose a spicy ranch dipping sauce. It wasn't too spicy. The crispy brussel sprouts were delicious. I could have made a meal out of them. They were nice and crispy on the outside while soft inside. Not greasy and stayed hot (temperature) for a while. There was a sauce that came with it and I dipped each one into it. We shared Banana pudding. It was nice and creamy with big chunks of banana, vanilla wafer cookies and whipped cream. Everything was delicious! Kristen was a wonderful server. She was intuitive and had the best customer service. She was also training a lovely woman. Parking is plentiful. There is street parking and a free garage which is a short walk away. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. We chose outside since it was a beautiful day. Kristen was wonderful. I thanked her for wonderful first experience and she gifted us with a coupon to come back for lunch. We will be having lunch here in the near future to try some of the other menu options.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I and my daughter went at about 10:30 on Sunday before it got busy/ but it didn't take long for the place to fill up and people having to wait. Their menu was full of Southern/leaning dishes, all of which looked good. I got shrimp and grits, one of my favorite dishes ever, and my daughter got a sweet potato pancake with some kind of sauce and berries. She said it was delicious and shrimp and grits were perfect! It was her birthday so she got to choose a daddy of her liking. She chose banana pudding and it was delicious! Our waiter, Brian, was so good- attentive, efficient and super friendly. I wouldn't say there was a lot of ambience, but it was a welcoming place. There is plenty of parking- across the street in the lot used by those who shop at the many stores there and I think there's more parking around the corner. I enjoyed my meal and the restaurant itself. Five stars.

First time here. All you need to know is ask for Dana's section. She is amazing and so professional. Shoots straight. Has excellent suggestions and that smile will win you over. Get the biscuit appetizer and order drinks. Sit back and people watch. Then order dinner and another round of drinks. Dinner will arrive and you will forget about EVERYTHING else. Chow down. Dana will check back with you. Your mouth will be full. Just smile. When the bill comes make sure you take care of Dana. Really well.

Wonderful space with hearty tasty dishes and an inviting space. My coworker and I kept talking about the design of the walls and bar area. Dream home vibes! I highly encourage ordering biscuits to share and their dirty chai is a great way to wash down the cozy meal. The space is big enough to take a group, and there's an outdoor patio that looks lovely. Street parking is available and accessible. Will be back again for sure!

The food was amazing. Service was also great. The vibe is fun. Very much in service to southern food and culture. Came here for brunch with the family. My mom is from North Carolina so I deferred to her opinion. Drinks: Iced Chai was great. The creamy oat milk mixed with Chai tea had just the right amount of spice. Bloody Mary came with an entire piece of bacon Okra and fried green tomatoes were perfectly crispy. Not mushy at all. I will say the sauce for the Okra has a kick to it. The Chicken in the Chicken & Waffles (plain) was very crispy and the waffles were not too dry. Covered with a dash of powdered sugar and maple syrup for just the right amount of food.

Very nice ambiance's, low lighting and plenty of seating as well as seating outside. I tried the Shrimp and Grits which was okay. The Tomato soup was good and for dessert we had the banana pudding, very good. Our server G was definitely on point!!!!! I enjoyed the whiskey tasing too especially the ginger one. Good!!!!

Gorgeous interior and great service, but the food was just okay and not up to the value of what you're paying for it. Ordered the morning glory bowl which was a grits bowl with eggs, bacon, potatoes, and red pepper sauce. It was pretty greasy and salty. I think I would have to try some other things on the menu to give this place the fairest assessment, but I unfortunately was not that impressed.

Wet yummy! Slow service sometimes but good food. Chicken for sure and the tomato app was amazing. Great feel to the place.

Yes I would recommend. We visited for brunch and had a great experience. There were no issues with seating and the service was very good. I had the chicken and waffle which is their signature along with meatloaf. I also tried the meatloaf and it was good just as the chicken and waffle. The service was good timely and friendly. We had food beverages and a good time. Overall great experience and great time. I will visit again. Also parking is not an issue there is a garage behind the restaurant.

My favorite restaurant in Columbus so far! The food was spectacular, I had absolutely no complaints about my meal! We were all pleased with our drinks as well (highly recommend the espresso martini if you like it on the more chocolatey side!). Everything was so flavorful. Our waitress was so sweet, and it was her first day off training. We all agreed that she did an amazing job! I loved the plant decor on the ceiling as well as the lighting. Great for big party tables, like graduation family dinners or a bachelorette weekend dinner like we did!

Another great happy hour and the bartender Marley knocked it out of the park. Incredible espresso martini and a fall flavored old fashioned. We shared some Brussels sprouts that were so yummy too.

Where is the best place to park?

There's a garage close by and they validate parking ticket so bring it in with you and there's street parking as well.

When is happy hour during the week? I did not see this posted on their webpage.

Happy Hour is Monday through Friday from 3-6!

Do you need reservations or can you get seated as a walk in?

I would highly suggest making a reservation, especially if during peak hours. The tables seat 4 (probably could be pushed together for a larger group). We tried a reservation for 5 and there weren't any for the entire Saturday but we dropped it to 3…

What are the gluten free options? It says on the bottom of the menu that there are options available but none are marked?

Shrimp and Grits, Cast Iron Pork, Blackened Mahi Mahi, For The Love of Cobb, Lemon Garden Party are some gluten free main dishes, they also have gluten free bread that can be used substituted for some dishes! Goat cheese grits, mixed green salad,…

Three words: Country; Fried; Chicken. Wow…read more I decided to stop at this little local place while staying in town for the week based on some solid reviews (and the fact that I made some fried chicken of my own for my family last night but didn't really end up getting any before I left). I started out with a 101 Jungle Bird as I'm a rum drinker and liked the idea of a bourbon-forward one instead. I'll say that this was much more fruity than a Jungle Bird and without the bitterness (no Campari). It also didn't taste very strong but it definitely hit me pretty good. Definitely a tasty-but-dangerous one there. For food, I opted for the Country Fried Chicken. What a fantastic choice indeed. The breast was either butterflied or pounded flat but still thick enough to give a good bite. The outside was cooked to absolute perfection with a crunchy texture without being burned or underdone. The inside was tender and juicy. The whole piece was seasoned beautifully and that was even without any of the delicious white gravy. The Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes that accompanied were similarly well done with great flavor. And the cherry on top was that the portion size was PERFECT. Not a ton of carbs and things that left me feeling beyond full or guilty that I had a bunch of leftover food to likely toss. The seat at the bar was a great place to be. A handful of seats staring at nothing but a huge wall of bourbon. To your back are a series of large high tops and, unfortunately for me, on this night were full of a rather loud group. An unintended side effect of the close quarters but I'm sure not a regular thing. The place is otherwise quite cozy and comfortable and in line with the southern cooking motif. My bartender, Mike, was also very friendly and happy to chat a little about my travels and share our regional sports experiences. All in all, absolutely outstanding. Great food, wonderful staff, and an impressive drink selection. I'm looking forward to coming back here again.

They changed their mac and cheese recipe, lied about it, then said they were changing it back (never admitting they lied). They got rid of free ranch and sweet tea. They replaced people with tablets. Well... it's still tablets over people. I'm pretty sure they're a second-chance employer, still (they have a dead link on their site). Their quality has increased again! Ranch is free! Tea is free! Is the old new again? This was always the location we went to - and it was a sad decline. And no other spot was better. Now - they seem to be back! I feel the service has never changed - it's always been people kicking ass behind the counter/in the kitchen. That's never changed. But clearly the new management brought back quality, that let's me hesitantly say - it's good again. They HAVE expanded the menu a little - more chicken options, a couple more sides. Nothing that "ruins" the experiment but gives more opportunity! I'm happy for "the brand" in the sense that new management recognized the old was killing the brand, and saved it and are expanding it (and it seems with the know-how on proper expansion without stretching, hopefully!)

When I got into the car, I could smell the barbecue sauce on the wings, and it had such a wonderful smell to it I just could not wait to try. I got the sweet barbecue sauce on the wings and they were very delicious. The plane wings really did not have any flavor, but that was okay because I specifically got the plain wings to add my own hot sauce, and the wings had a nice crunch. I'd rather have my chicken under seasoned than over seasoned. Now, the not so positive: All I have to say about my sides--fries, cabbage, and Mac and cheese--I was totally expecting better with all the excellent reviews. The fries were greasy and very limp. When I got home, I ate a few, and I had to pop the rest in the oven to render some of the grease off of them and to crisp them up a little, still, they were not that great. Now, some people may like overcooked cabbage, but they were way overcooked to my liking that I could not even finish them. Same with the macaroni and cheese they were overcooked just a tad bit to my liking, but again, there may be people who like their macaroni real soft. The flavor was okay, but I have had better. If I am in the area again I will definitely get the barbecue wings again because they were very delicious but I will not make a special trip. The sweet potato pie was okay...I gave it a four out of five only because it was a little bit too sweet for me.
