Was in the mood for a donut and remembered about this place since it was 24/7 I went to check it out. It located in a plaza like place with other businesses but is on only one side of the area it's next to Hometown Buffet but on the back side of it since Hometown entrance is on the opposite side. This is a small place a couple of tables inside no outside seats. There are many things to select from donuts, sandwiches, burgers, breakfast, boba type drinks, regular drinks, some microwaveable meals, coffee etc. Since the donut selection was not great I opted to get a turkey and cheese croissant which I heard was a great choice here so I tried it and yes it was good too. The lady told me the donuts are only fresh in the morning time I guess like a typical donut shop. Overall a great place to satisfy your hunger after hours. read more

I don't usually give stars less than 4 but with my experience here I just had too, my friends and I decided to try their croissant sandwiches since I been hearing/reading good reviews about it. So I ordered an Egg, Sausage and Cheese croissant sandwich.... No lie, I was so excited to try it! After three bites I saw a hair on the bottom of my sandwich, being a good customer I went up to the lady and let her know. Showed the lady my sandwich then she took off the hair herself and said, "it's okay, you okay!".... No, it's not okay because I didn't order hair with my sandwich! Having been here countless multiple times, I have never really had a problem with the quality of food. The donuts are always delicious and cheap, and the breakfast sandwiches are made fresh. I have seen the quality of the donuts dip a little but nothing worth dinging them. My recent experiences have not been too well . On my last experience the woman taking our order wasn't paying attention. We ordered a ham and cheese croissant. Easy right? Well she decided to pile the jalapeños high even though we did not want them. We went back to order another one because at this time the croissant soaked up the vinegar. I didn't know if I should post this review because it most likely will hurt their business and I don't wanna be responsible for any bad karma. But I'm gonna post this review in the hopes that maybe I'm preventing someone from getting sick in the future. I found this place randomly on yelp and it was easy to spot because the doors were wide open. Anyways I was looking at all the donuts and desserts behind the display cases when I stumbled across this nasty fly moving around and making it's home on this chocolate cream cheese croissant. I kept thinking it would fly away but it just stayed there and I managed to get some good closeups of it. Both doors to this place were wide open and the back of the display case where all the donuts and croissants were sitting had no kind of shield or glass or anything to keep flies out. Just makes ya wonder what other nasty things might be lurking around this place. Just be careful eating here if you decide to ignore my review and still eat here. I don't know if this was an isolated incident or an everyday occurrence but flies belong outside and not in your food. It goes without saying I won't be returning. read more

The Thai Chai Iced Tea hit the spot on this hot & sunny 4th of July. They also serve a lot of different sandwiches too! The lady (the owner) who helped me was very nice too. One of the better donut shops in Gardena. Generally I come here after lunch if I want something sweet to munch on. The selection is pretty good throughout the day with a few donuts of each kind. Of course, it is best to go early in the morning to get it as fresh as possible! Donuts are 75 cents each and around $3.50 for 6 I believe. It is definitely cheaper than the donut shop across the street next to Seven-Eleven. It is just your typical local neighborhood donut shops, but I think what sets it apart is that the donuts here have a little more substance. I feel like there's more substance to the donuts at Rainbow. More chocolate, cream, sprinkles etc makes me a happy guy :] There's also deals on sandwiches on croissants or bagels. Pretty solid since you get a drink. There's also banh mi sandwiches here... but never tried it. Sorta skeptical. There's also milk & boba drinks here, and again, don't think it is that legit so I never got it. There's other milk tea spots around Gardena so migrate there if you want milk teas! I go here because it is on the way to work and it's right next to Starbucks. It's a clean donut shop, the owner's friendly, and it's open 24hrs. I wanted a maple bar but he didn't have any so alternatively I got the round maple donut instead. The price I thought was a little expensive for donuts. Total mom and pop spot. The coffee is decent to good. One of my buddies from work ordered a turkey croissant sandwich and I have to admit it was really good. So good that I've gone a couple more times myself to buy it for lunch. It comes with tomatoes, onions, lettuce, mayo and mustard. Super simple yet really delicious. I love that they provide Red Hot Chili Peppers and jalapeños. It's a good size so I get full off of half and eat the other one after. They're combo for this is great, sandwich, donut, chips and a drink for like $5-6. I mean you can't beat that. The staff is always really friendly and helpful. In my efforts to find the perfect Bear Claw, it's been awhile since I have been here. Now several owners later, they serve almost everything besides the donut stuff. I remember when they just had donuts and coffee/ hot chocolate and beverages. As donuts go they are a little expensive to some of the places I've been too. On our first visit we enjoyed: Cream Cheese Croissant - my personal favorite of all: smooth cream cheese filling was slightly sweet but not overbearing. Croissant was tender & flakey. Apple Fritter- very large, very sweet pastry chock full of apple chunks, more real fruit than in most fritters, nicely seasoned with cinnamon Chocolate & Chocolate Chip frosted large donut ( oblong ) - Yeast raised donut appeared to have been sliced and spread with a dark chocolate filling. Chocolate icing glistened beneath the chocolate chip studded topping. The chocolate had good depth and flavor without overwhelming sweetness. Addicting ! Strawberry & Cream Cheese Croissant - just as tender, flakey and fresh as the regular cream cheese one, but with the addition of strawberry preserves in the filling ( not the usual guar gum gel stuff ) This had real fruit flavor and texture. Slightly sweeter than the plain cream cheese filled croissant. A nice indulgence ! Will be back to try other sweets and some of the good looking sandwiches ! read more

A mom-and-pop place for sure, one of the few places where you can still get a cheap cup of hot coffee. For you picky connoisseurs, Starbucks is just 100 feet away. They're open 24 hours for the dawn treaders like myself. Their donuts stand out from the franchises; they are just so fresh, fluffy, and full of flavor. I can't remember another donut shop making a cruller like these guys do. They always seem to have a pink one waiting for my fiance, which she loves! The big reason why I love coming here in the wee morning hours are their ham and cheese croissants. Their croissants alone are amazing, but they stuff them with sliced ham and this white cheese goo that I can't really describe. Perfect for your early commute, and they're filling too! I'm a big guy, and I am usually good with one of these and a big can of Arizona tea. Above all, everything here is CHEAP! Between my girl and I, we'll both get our breakfasts worth for $6-7 total. Unfortunately their card machine was on the fritz and they were only accepting cash at the moment. This wasn't a problem, but we had to go home first to get the cash (as we were in our pajamas). Cool privately owned donut shop in Gardena. This place is overlooked by so many people because on its right there is a radio shack, vons, starbucks and on its left is a rite aid and hometown buffet. When most other businesses sold out to the corporates they've remained local. I love this place. Its a regular donut shop but its like an oaisis in the middle of a high pace world. Gardena is an interesting city in that there is the "old business" which is local and small business and the "new business" which is chain store galore. I respect the locals who have kept their business like these folks. Just a block or so away from my house they keep their prices low and their service friendly. Oh yeah and they are 24 hours which is a big plus. Late night sweet tooth can definately be satisfied here. THey also have sandwhiches like turkey, ham, roast beef, on a variety of breads. These sandwhiches are the tastiest sandwhiches ever! They are probably made with Crack or something but they are soo good. I enjoy a good sandwhich every now and then and knowing they are ALWAYS open is really cool. Oh and finally cops are here almost every time I go. You know those cops love their donuts. I ran into this on my search for great donuts during my post-fight break. I generally eat try three different things as my tests: a glazed donut/twist, a maple bar, and a glazed cinnamon roll. When I went in that day, I got the glazed donut and maple bar. Can't really say about the other donuts or food. This isn't to say it doesn't taste good (since I didn't have any other food than the two donuts) or look good (because they did look as good as any other donut shop's stuff). The glazed donut was just passable. Did not have a good enough glazed sugar to dough ratio for my liking. This bumped them to three stars in my opinion. What did pass the test was the maple bar. This maple bar was the bomb! One of my favorite maple bars that I have had in recent times, and I've tried a lot of maple bars recently. I had to get a second one as I was leaving since it was so good! This got them back to a four star fo sho! Coffee was decent and people were nice. It's good that they are 24 hour. read more

Been to rainbow donuts MANY of times over the past years, at all hours of the day/night and I've tried almost everything they have on their menu atleast once. I just got back today and enjoyed my donuts so much, I needed to review them asap! It's a usual 24 hour, mom n pop donut shop with the picture menus of donuts, sandwiches and boba smoothies, but they also literally sell everything. XD Their donuts are actually amazing here though. I'm a fan of their cake donuts (blueberry/choco sprinkles!!) and their croissants. They're perfect...a little crunch on the outside and super soft on the inside. The cinnamon roll donut things melt in your mouth. Croissant/bagel breakfast sandwiches are bomb too! (G6 all day.) The ONLY negative for me is the boba for the smoothies. Stopped ordering it in my thai tea smoothie cause it was always hard and not fresh. Been here on a bad day, sure. I've gotten a maybe-not-the-freshest donut or even had a small selection to choose from, but the good experiences out weigh the one or two bad ones. I came here years ago and didn't like the stale donuts. Not sure if new owners took over, but my husband talked me into trying this place again. It is one of the best freshest donut places I have ever had. My kids tried the ham & cheese crossunts and loved them so much that they don't even come here for the donuts anymore. Burgers, burritos, sandwiches, frappes, fresh juice, smoothies and much more all at a damn good price too ! They have the BEST sandwiches I've tried from any other donut shop and their croissants are the bombbbbbbb!!! lol believe me when I say ANY croissant you get whether savory or sweet is heaven in your mouth. The prices are great and the asian woman at the front is super nice! The only thing I've gotten so far was the fresh fruit juices, and I'm super happy! I saw the woman chop the watermelon for the watermelon juice and take whole oranges for the orange juice, so I know that they aren't adding any extra sugar or using some processed juice from the store. Since I just reviewed the overrated M&M Donuts I figured I would review a donut shop a little closer to home - consider this an old haunt for me. Rainbow Donuts is right around the corner from my girlfriend's house, so on occasion we will get some donuts in the morning. They've always been fresh and tasty no matter the selection - the donuts, the donut holes, the bars, the twists. My favorites are the chocolate donuts with the chocolate frosting, with whatever ridiculous sprinkles the owners decided to whip out for that particular day. One time I had Halloween sprinkles on my donut... it was June. Excellent prices and friendly service - an old Asian couple who pays attention to who is in line first. One time a brotha literally ran into the store (I thought I was being robbed, as is the norm in Gardena, so I didn't think much of it.) Turns out he just really, REALLY wanted some donuts. He ran in, cut me and my girlfriend, and then seconds later turned around as was like "oh, am I cutting you?" He didn't go to the back of the line but thankfully the vigilant owner knew we were there first and pointed to the back of the line for Dwayne. Five stars for the service and the food, but minus a star because of the location and the seedy people that sometimes sit out front or in the shop. I don't want gross looking Mexican men staring at my girlfriend as we're ordering, and I don't want to have to say excuse me every time I walk out the door because even more of them are standing in the way.
