Sakura Cherry Black Milk Tea with Kikkoman Organic Soy Milk & Sakura Honey Boba ($7.65) 06-06-2024
    Alana M.

First off, Moshi Moshi Tea Shoppu is located inside Oko Cafe, so look for Oko's signage. Secondly, it was a Pop-Up, but since it's been here for nearly 2 years, I'm thinking this is more permanent. TIP: To order from the Momoko x Moshi Moshi menu, you must use the kiosk. You cannot order at the counter. When you step inside, you'll see that the furniture and decorations are all black & white. Like the artist drew all the lines with a black Sharpie! There's a train complete with seats & handholds for standing passengers. Too cute! Previously, there was a family of ducks that once graced that wall. There's also a guitar, telephone, computer, and a portrait of Albert Einstein! I love the functional piano named Hammond! They even provided a music book! It's neat that they change up the interior from time to time. This black & white drawn theme continues to the counter & the restroom! There is plenty of free parking at the Pacific Square Shopping Center. To order from the Momoko x Moshi Moshi menu requires you to to use the kiosk. There are 2. On my first visit, I got the Sakura Cherry Black Milk Tea with Kikkoman Organic Soy Milk & Sakura Honey Boba ($7.65) - I loved this drink! The tea bag is left in the cup. The drink itself was quite ambrosial! What made this drink a notch above was the Sakura Honey Boba! They were absolutely amazing and more than worth the 90¢! I don't know if this is permanently on the (kiosk) menu or not, but I need to get some more! I was a little bit sad when I finished my drink! [ https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/moshi-moshi-tea-shoppu-gardena?select=8vgz57-2212DF1xmbimLtA ] Five stars for the first visit! On my second visit, I got the Sakura Lavender Mousse with Sakura Honey Boba. While the drink was alright, the boba weren't as fresh this time. I was so disappointed!! Hubby got the Strawberry Vanilla Green Tea and it was subtle, but good! TIP: To order from the Momoko x Moshi Moshi menu, you must use the kiosk. You cannot order at Oko Cafe's counter. Interesting fact: Momoko x Moshi Moshi offers 5 different Milk choices - Kikkoman Organic Soy Milk, Oatly Oat Milk, Stratus Organic Milk, Califia Almond Milk, and Hokkaido Non-Dairy Creamer. We also wanted to try the Fresh Tama Strawberry Sakura Cream Sando ($5.50). It took a while for this sando to come out because it is made fresh. It looked like quite a work of art! I must say that eating it was a feat in itself! I tried to cut my half into bite-sized pieces, but everything oozed out from the bread and made a mess! I ended up eating it as a deconstructed sandwich. In a way, it reminded me of a Strawberry Shortcake. [ https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/moshi-moshi-tea-shoppu-gardena?select=52lwtOkfcqfpvxl71Bua9A ] It was worth the extra time it took to get the drink & sando because they were made fresh while we waited! We saw the Tanghulu when we were her in June and decided to get one this time. We chose the Tanghulu Rainbow Mix Fruits Candy. It comes in a nice free gift wrap plastic that says "I love Tanghulu". The Rainbow Tanghulu came with 2 pieces of each fruit. We got Oranges, Grapes, and Strawberries. Each is dipped in a clear hard candy. The fruit is so juicy! I found it to be a little difficult to take bites off the skewer because that hard candy coating was sharp like broken glass. Despite that, we really enjoyed the Tanghulu! I would get this again, but not too often! [ https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/moshi-moshi-tea-shoppu-gardena?select=HVIMVbTmIfjn3F0iHZjKWA ] Next time, I will stick with the Sakura Cherry Black Milk Tea with Kikkoman Organic Soy Milk & Sakura Honey Boba! It was a winner!! Hopefully the Sakura Honey Boba will be fresh, too!

04/08/2023 I came here for the Soft Opening pop up inside Oko Cafe. You order at the kiosk and wait for your order at the designated pick up counter. I ordered the Sakura Cherry Matcha Tea with Kikkoman Organic Soy Milk which was very rich and thick almost like a milkshake. I do like this idea where you do have options when trying to decide because you can view two different menus. I would come back and try another drink. Fast forward to July, I brought two more people. The hours and kiosk show that the pop up is closed on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. Someone walked out with a fruit sando which looked really good.

This is a Pop up shop inside Oko Cafe with a Super Cute concept of a cartoon Japanese subway. I love their dedication to the black & white cartoon concept- they even had the piano, tables, and seating in that fashion. Their trash can is also decorated like a boba drink- how creative! The milk tea & boba is yummy. They sealed off a tea bag in my cup, which was really cool since most shops don't just use one tea serving per customer (you can usually pour many batches of tea from the same tea leaves). This is probably why you can taste the amazing aromatic tea, unlike other places where you can barely taste the tea. They also gave a free tea sample with my drink. I love that they use fresh tea per customer for the milk tea, definitely coming back to try other flavors!

After having lunch near by,my spouse and I walked around the Pacific Square shopping center and noticed how the interior looks unique. It was all black and white boba place. The place looks really cute and the theme was the train station. It even have piano! You can play at your risk. I did play a couple of funny tunes. They have fresh tea scent containers for you to sniff the tea you like to order. I ordered peach oolong drink with crystal boba from the kiosk system. I got my drink within 5 minutes with a free tea sample. This is my first time seeing teabag in a boba drink. Overall the place was clean and service was great as well. I would love to come back again in the future to try other drinks.

Ordering was a breeze, but the wait for the drink felt like ages. The ambiance? Absolutely adorable. As for the milk tea, it was good, just not great.

Still one of my favorite places for tea. They use actual tea and put a bag to your drink when you order!

Some of the best quality tea and boba yet! The pop up is located inside OKO Cafe. You MUST order on the kiosk and NOT at the register to get Moshi Moshi. Each order will take approximately 15 minutes, so be prepared to wait for your tea to be brewed to perfection. While waiting, you can smell the tea samples and look at the other displays. Once your drink is done, they will call your name and not the order number. The order number is for OKO. For each drink, they give you tea samples. I have yet to try the tea at home, but each one is super nice with a handwritten note. Per drink, the price ranges from ~$6-8. A little on the pricey side, but so worth it!

This pop up is located AT Oko Cafe, where the owner is trying out a new drink menu based on Lupicia tea (only available in and imported from Japan). I ordered the Sakura Cherry Green Tea with Cheese Mousse and it was delicious. I really like cherry flavor, and this a delicate but clear cherry flavor. I love that they are testing out new drinks! You order separately from the kiosk inside Oko Cafe. I wanted to try the fruit sandos but they actually had sold out of almost all, so I will need to come back for that. This popup is a soft opening Thursday - Sunday. Enjoy!

This was the cutest hidden gem that we stumbled across while looking for a bakery in Gardena. As someone who doesn't opt for boba, it takes a really great one to make me reconsider and let me tell you, this didn't disappoint. Drink: Omomoko Green Tea w/ cream mouse & mochi ball + sakura honey boba: I was very skeptical about this drink so to think that it was one of the best tea drinks I've had in a while was impressive. Mixing in the cream mouse made the drink similar to a green tea latte but lighter and brighter. The boba was also great having a slight floral taste while being soft and chewy. Service: The woman who handed me my drink was so sweet. She proceeded to give me a little pouch of a tea sample and from then I was sold. Ambiance: What took me by surprise, however, was the interior. There were no yelp pictures that could've led me to think that this was a 2D cafe, but it is! I was so excited because I've been wanting to visit one ever since it become popularized in Seoul. There is even a seating area along the wall with handles in front to mimic the look of a Japanese train. It's a pretty photo op with plenty of seating including tables outside. It was pretty crowded at 6:00pm so there was a bit of a wait, but that's bearable if you're admiring the decor. Cons: The only thing that made me squirm was the price. Now, I'm quite used to an expensive cafe, but I was a little taken aback when (with the added boba) the price came out to be over $7. I couldn't justify getting a drink at that price to come very often, but it's a great place to come to at least once. This is a great place to come with friends if I lived in the area. Make sure to check it out if you're ever in Gardena!

A light, fruity drink that reminds me of spring/summer! I got 50% sweetness which was a little too sweet for me but I loved the creativity of the peach cream mousse with the green tea which worked well together. I've also never had sakura boba and was pleasantly surprised by the subtle sweet floral flavor!

For drinks, I ordered the Oreo Matcha Brûlée Latte and my little sister got the Vietnamese coffee, and WOW... both were SO delicious. My matcha drink was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced with the Oreo flavor, while the Vietnamese coffee was smooth, strong, and flavorful. You can tell they put care into their drinks here. Overall, such a great first experience and we'll definitely be back again soon!

Loveee this place. Been going here since they were opened. I don't go as much as I used to anymore,…read morebut I still come back to it once in awhile. I also noticed manyyyyy complaints about how their cup isn't filled up because they ask for no ice. Not that I am biased, but.. if they either (a) add more water; it dilutes the flavor. Then they'll start complaining that it tastes "watery". Or (b), adding more tea, it can make it taste too strong or bitter. Adding extra of (a)/(b) to compensate for the missing ice would mess up the flavor. They are not being stingy, they are just maintaining consistent quality. Other people might say that they ask for no ice at Starbucks, and their cup is always filled up. They are prioritizing customer satisfaction by filling up the cup, even if it changes the drink's intended taste very SLIGHTLY. To me, I see that this boba shop prioritizes maintaining the tea's quality over simply filling the cup to the brim. They're ensuring the taste is consistent with what's expected. They also switched to self ordering instead of them taking your order. Makes it easier but I prefer an employee taking my order. Also, the boba quality is different compared from years ago. But I don't add boba to my drinks anymore so it's whatever! They also used to make drinks really quick, it takes quite awhile now. Still a 10/10 boba shop!

Review #990 2026-060…read more Drinks Order: Peach Jasmine Tea with Crystal Boba $5.60 Passionfruit Green Apple Refresher with Lychee Jelly $6.60 Peach Refresher with Crystal Boba $7 Cafe Pruvia is located on the east side of Pacific Square Shopping Center while traversing over a bunch of speed bumps to reach the cafe. With several boba/tea shops in the same plaza, I'm guessing they're trying to capitalize on the high foot traffic from Tokyo Central & Main supermarket, & their competitors ("boba clusters")? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ On my first visit, I wasn't sure what to order & saw someone exit with a bright green drink; the cashier said it's one of their more popular refreshers: Passionfruit Green Apple Refresher, & ordered it with lychee jelly. It's basically a slushy with passionfruit & green apple, but the flavor isn't as sharp, though it paired well with the jelly. I love peach, & their Peach Jasmine Tea is perfect for the summer... light, refreshing, & aromatically alluring with the combo of jasmine & peach. I prefer the Peach Refresher with Crystal Boba, which I claimed for my Local By Toast (LBT) $5 birthday reward. This slush has a notable peach flavor & crystal boba tastes better in this icy drink because it maintains its soft, chewy texture whereas tapioca pearls usually hardens & becomes tough after longer icy exposure. The menu is compact, consisting of: milk & flavored teas, non-caffeinated drinks, swirls, refreshers, crema (milk smoothies), coffees & coffee lattes, & tea lattes, with moderate prices in this competitive neighborhood. It's a decent selection but nothing that I considered unique enough for dedicated loyalty with other options in this center. Not the friendliest of service, but they are fast. The cafe is quite spacious with tables & chairs lining around the perimeter... with free WiFi, there's usually a crowd hanging out, particularly during the weekend evenings. If they provided board games, would that be additional entertainment to entice customers to stay a little longer & have a few more drinks? Hmmm... Cafe Pruvia uses LBT for their loyalty rewards, & program rules allows you to earn 1 point for every $1 spent, & earning 165 points for a $5 discount (or 3%). I'm not a frequent patron so I haven't checked my rewards status in a while... I came back recently when they dropped a $5 birthday reward. That's when I checked my account & saw that I only tallied 3 points after multiple trips; their tracking system is glitchy & I don't plan to fix it since there's no way I'll spend enough to earn the next $5 reward. Opened during the pandemic lockdown for nearly 6 years, Cafe Pruvia announced that they will be permanently closing on Sunday, 05/24/26, but will maintain next door sister, Pruvia Coffee Bar. If you're a fan of their teas & smoothies, this is your last chance to say goodbye.
