    tteok galbi meal set
    Caitlyn C.

Delicious, savory, spicy, flavorful. My wife and I came to check this spot out and were definitely happy with it. We started with the spicy cucumber arugula salad, which was soooo good (know going in that they MEAN spicy). I'm a vegetarian, and there weren't a huuuge amount of veg options, but I was very happy with the sweet and spicy yaki mandu! My wife found the tteok galbi meal set tasty, tender, and generously portioned (she was like, this could have been a shared dish for sure!!). Legit loved how much in the way of greens accompanied everything, too (and each greens dish had a totally different flavor profile which was nice that it wasn't just the same for everything)--I honestly wasn't super looking forward to going out to eat on a hot summer day, but all the greens kept it feeling nice and let and refreshing even as we packed away a bunch of food, lol.

We saw this late night join that have great review that open till Midnight. Was hungry after Sofi Stadium concert and finally arrived past 11pm. Small cozy restaurant with the few tables for 4 and 1 longer table at front. You can enter from with street parking or back door with back parking, better. Saw the Chef's sommelier long certificates wall posted. Great accomplishment! Only ordered 2 item. The Tteok Galbi Meal Set and Creamy Toowoomba Ramyeon Risotto. Food taste is 9/10. Very delicious and yummy. The Galbi is marinated meatballs, very tasty. Including Salad and dressing. The risotto is a mini show. Come in Buldak Ramen Cup upside down with cheese at the bottom. Interesting. Creamy and yummy. Portion is on larger side, like family style, thus the price is on higher side. Might come again and try different item.

Stopped by after Ho'olaule'a at Alondra Park. Long lines for food. Parking is on street or there is a small lot behind the restaurant and you can enter through the back door. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and told we could sit at any open table. I think the chef was the host, waiter and busser. He was working hard but we couldn't tell he was working solo. Service was great. Inside is small with 10 tables and a small counter with 3-4 seats. The inside got kinda hot if you're eating a spicy dish. There was no airflow. We ordered a lot of food for two because we wanted to try more than two main dishes. We ordered the pork belly, spicy pork belly, the Redondo Seafood Jeon, and Ttokbokki(red). My first time trying Ttokbokki seeing it so many times on Korean TV. Now I know why it's a popular dish. Everything was delicious.

Why Woowa? An intimate small Korean spot off the Main Street of Western. - Not sure why it gives off bar vibes for a fusion Korean x Italian spot. - Consistently busy throughout the weekend nights though you can't tell from the outside. - Love the top 10 list on the menu wonder if it changes quarter to quarter? Would I come back? Yes, I would much better than the other Korean spot around the perimeter. Note: The food is very HEAVY based on what was eaten below. Food 4/5 - N Pork Belly = Loved how it was cooked and crispy + quality was solid - Dad's Kim chee fried rice = Solid with the egg on-top Service 4/5 Consistent follow-up from staff to ensure all is well. You can truly tell they care for their customers! Parking 4/5 Easy parking in the back or on Main Street of Western

The service so just so friendly and welcoming! We were promptly greeted, seated, and consistently taken care of. The food is absolutely fantastic-- a cheesy dolsot buldak?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! It was so comforting and delicious!!! I will say, the interior is more like a dive-bar vibe, it's dark, and pretty small. But man, I will definitely be back, especially since they're open late :3

Came here at late night around 11pm. They said they ran out of pasta, which is what were looking forward to. My friend had the bulgogi meatballs, and he told me it was okay and it tasted like Koja Kitchen. It's crazy because it was the #1 menu item. Buldak was subpar and nothing crazy, considering the $24 price. Seafood pancake was okay too. I had really high expectations for this place, and I am disappointed. Would not go here again :/

A hole in the wall restaurant that is 100% worth trying in the Gardena area. Met up with friends and went as soon as they opened. They have a lot in the back where you can park. The food was AMAZING. The server/cook, Joon, was so helpful when we were trying to decide what to order. Love that they have a page of their recommended food items. The spicy cucumber arugula salad was definitely one of the best I've had. Nice and refreshing! I also enjoyed their seafood pajeon and pork belly dish. I wish I lived closer because this would be a great place to go to for drinks too! Highly recommend!

Woowa is an extremely charming late-night spot nested on Western Ave, the legendary street that spans from Hollywood all the way down to PV. I highly recommend making a visit as they do Korean-Italian fusion in a very interesting way that you can't find anywhere else. I've been here about three times now -- earlier into the restaurant's opening and have been pleased to see its growth in such a short amount of time. Let's start with the appetizers; the rice paper-wrapped boneless fried chicken was very surprising. It's unlike other fried chicken, with a lighter texture that doesn't sacrifice the juice. It's a great snack throughout the night. I wasn't a big fan of the arugula salad as it was way too acidic (too much vinegar) and hope that gets adjusted. I do wish they'd add soy garlic WINGS... we are severely lacking in quality wings in Gardena and think Woowa would kill it. CM chicken across the street does not pass my bar, nor does Love Letter a few blocks down. There's also the kimchi pancake, which was very sizable and perfect for a group of 4. They fortunately provide a "top hits" menu, so I recommend you order from that list on your first visit. The top one is the bulgogi meatball, served with a killer gochujang salad. The salad needs to be a side option! The meatball was juicy and well-balanced; the rice was impeccably soft and paired well. You did order alcohol, right...? Because there's more to discuss. The N Pork Belly was INCREDIBLE. It's the highest quality pork belly in Korea and the dish was served on a cast-iron skillet, making every bite juicy and crispy all at once. It's a nice "side dish" as it doesn't come with rice or pasta. The brisket set is no longer on the menu as of writing but I quite enjoyed that one! Next top dish would be the carbonara and risotto - very creamy, yet the Korean flavors shine through to make every bite nostalgic and playful. I thoroughly enjoyed the chapaghetti - I ordered it with pork belly but they should add a steak option to reference the dish in the Parasite film...! I would probably pass on the smoke bulgogi next time around as it didn't wow me enough; the Ilsan style chicken noodle soup was very heartwarming and I think it'd be perfect after tons of alcohol. I've even been to Woowa during the world cup game and it was the perfect atmosphere. The owners and staff are so friendly and welcoming and you can tell every detail has been treated with care. I will say, between the dishes and drinking, the bill can run you up. I believe my average check is ~$120. I wished there were smaller plates with smaller prices so that groups of 2 can budget better, or groups can try more options. During the daytime, they do sell Korean-inspired sandwiches, so that's also another way to get a cheaper bite. Reminds me of The Bear... :) Overall, I am always a champion for late-night eats in Gardena; we always need more! Woowa is the perfect destination spot or even a companion spot to Donna's bar nextdoor. Give them a try!!! I'll see you there.

The service here was really good, super friendly and helpful. The waiter helped me pick out a good soju and point us to good things on the menu. The food was super flavorful and hit the spot. I love the hole in the wall vibes, it felt cozy and fun at the same time.

Incredible food, amazing music, and a fantastic vibe! Step inside, and you'll feel like you've been transported straight to a cozy, small restaurant in Korea. The food is absolutely spectacular. Their rosé pasta is crafted to perfection, featuring a rich, scratch-made tomato sauce. To top it off, the incredibly friendly owner came out to chat with us, which was such a cool, personal touch. The portions here are remarkably generous. They actually forgot our appetizer initially, but honestly, we were glad we canceled it because the main dishes were more than enough to fill us up!

Came to woowa with my wife and we throughly enjoyed our experience. We had the rose pasta, tteok galbi meal set, and the Kimchi tofu spicy pork. They were all very amazing, the atmosphere was very fun, and the service was top tier. Will definitely return again.

Words to describe Woowa: "Wowza," "Deliciosa," and "Zooweemama" From tangy/spicy cucumber salad to creamy and decadent rose pasta, Woowa provides a variety of unique and intricate flavors. Every dish had their own moment like a Kardashian walking down the red carpet. Definitely come by and taste the food for yourself. You won't be disappointed. I highly recommend the Spicy Cucumber Salad. A dish that shouldn't have any surprises, but after one bite you'll be left in "wooo-awe." In addition to the food, both the ambiance and service were great. Zooweemama!!

I've been seeing the red door for awhile, and I finally tried today - now I regret not coming here sooner! There is parking in the back of the restaurant, but we were able to park in the front on Western. Upon entering, we were immediately seated. We ordered woowa chicken, rose pasta with seafood, and fries with spicy pork belly. THEY WERE ALL SOO TASTY. Chicken was light but crispy and juicy inside. Gotta also mention that their special sauce was wonderful. Fries were also crispy and pork belly was tasty. What I love the most though, was rose pasta. It's creamy tomato sauce, and went so well with seafood. I loved the sauce so much that I ended up finishing all of it like a soup. The place felt so cozy and played fun music - in addition to lunch, I would love to return for dinner for date nights or hangouts with friends. Thanks, Joon!!

The inside is nice and spacious, a little dimly lit and clean. The worker was very friendly and service was quick. We asked for his recommendation and he suggested we try any of the yukgaejang. He brought out two sets of banchan - fish cakes which were firmer and more seasoned with sesame oil than some other place which was pleasant, a nice sweet fresh kimchi, and some chive kimchi, as well as the condiments for our dishes. To split, we got the small bossam, the rice cake and dumpling soup, the mul naengmyeon, and the yukgaejang with fresh pasta. Everything was super flavorful, large enough to split between the 5 of us, and delicious. The standouts are definitely the yukgaejang - the fresh pasta may sound weird but is a nice chewy thick noodle and the broth is rich and flavorful with just a bit of spice - and the bossam - at a lot of places the small bossam is still huge, and this was a good size so that we still had room for other dishes, and the meat itself was more flavorful, tender and nice and warm on the steamer that it came out on! The rice cake and dumpling soup and the mul naengmyeon were also solid. I'll definitely be back at Yuk Dae Jang for a warm comforting bowl of yukgaejang and bossam with friends :) Bonus, you don't have to go to ktown!

Instead of showing any understanding or hospitality, the owner told me to leave the restaurant and wait in the coffee shop next door. I was shocked because I had every intention of purchasing food. I wasn't causing a disturbance or asking for anything unreasonable. The way I was spoken to and treated made me feel embarrassed, unwelcome, and honestly as though I was being judged before I was even given a chance to order. I left feeling humiliated. Customer service is about treating people with basic kindness and respect, and unfortunately, that was completely missing during my visit. It also seemed to include some new items, or at least ones that weren't printed out on the placemats. We've previously tried their cold noodles, galbi, hot stone bimbimbap, tofu soup and seafood pancake. All are pretty good but the cold noodle is our favorite. This time we ordered their fishcake kimbap and the cold noodle and galbi combo. I previously saw photos of their kimbap but didn't see it on their menu until now so I was excited to try it. It comes with 20-24 pieces and a side of soup, quite a lot actually for one person. The kimbap was as expected, it was flavorful, had a slight crunch (from the pickled radish) and didn't fall apart easily while eating. It comes with a dipping sauce but it wasn't particularly noteworthy and I didn't feel it is required to use. The cold noodles were a bit different this time but overall had the same flavor. It comes with half an egg, pickled vegetables, slices of cucumber, and slices of meat in an icy broth with buckwheat noodles. Be sure to add the mustard and vinegar for added flavor. The side of galbi was as expected, but doesn't arrive sizzling like at many other Korean restaurants. The flavor can vary, sometimes more flavorful than other times but overall it still pairs well with the cold noodle. Service can be a bit spotty, especially when they only have one server doing everything. It can be hard to flag someone down so be prepared to sit around for a while if they have less staff and many customers. Overall not a dealbreaker but just something to be aware of.

We gave this place a try because we were excited to see they have Rice Wine here (since most of the mainstream KBBQ places didn't have this), and we were satisfied beyond our expectations. Parking: A very small dim lot next to the restaurant. Right below the small sign that sits above it. Ambience: We came on a Saturday night (7:00pm) expecting busy wait times but we called in and there was no wait! We were immediately seated. It's a very small restaurant, the booths are big enough to fit a family but bigger parties may need to call in to see if space is available. The vibes are especially different from most bigger and popular places but this qualifies as a hidden gem for sure. Service: Quick and nice! Second time coming to a place where they cook it for you at some points and serve you. They check on you often enough and were quick to see you get all that you ordered. Food: Absolutely nothing I've never had before, we knew we wanted brisket and pork belly, we skipped out on the combos + intestine sections bc of this. Luckily our two meat combo qualified us to also receive a soybean paste soup, steamed egg, and corn cheese for free! We additionally added rice paper to our order for a small charge. The menu is vast and I would like to come back here to try their different meats. I have never had a more flavorful brisket in my KBBQ experience before and the pork belly was thick enough and had that chewiness texture that made it so enjoyable. Employee was nice enough to inform us that the soup + steamed egg are carefully cooked with real flavorful ingredients, so expect high-quality. We didn't go into this place expecting AYCE since we believe places that offer à la carte specializes in quality, so please come with the same idea if you choose to go here! Regardless, our small bodies were filled by how much food we received! Overall, I gave this place a chance despite its smaller reviews, smaller atmosphere, and a generally smaller presence this had in comparison to its competitors. I would suggest you do the same too!

Cons: - Mosquitos in the restaurant - I'm surprised you need to order kimchi and it wasn't part of the banchan

We ordered the lunch specials with cold noodle and beef bulgogi and spicy pork bulgogi. The banchan was delicious and fresh. My Korean husband really enjoyed the potato salad. The service was great! We will definitely be back when we have a chance to step away for lunch.

We visited for Sunday lunch right when they opened and were seated immediately. Based on other…read morereviews, lunch seems to be the better time to come if you want to avoid long waits and the challenge of finding parking. The four of us shared the three-meat combo with brisket, bulgogi, and upgraded to the marinated galbi. The combo came with a variety of banchan, including some sides we hadn't seen before, along with radish and grape leaves. We also received shredded cabbage salad, steamed egg, kimchi soup, three bowls of rice, and two sodas of our choice. Our waiter was great! He was attentive, cooked all the meat for us, and quickly refilled our banchan whenever we requested more. He also changed out the grill several times once it started getting too dark. One funny moment was when our stove flame wasn't working properly and it was held down with a rock to keep it going. But hey, whatever works as long as the meat gets cooked! We originally thought the three-meat combo might not be enough for four people, but we were completely wrong. The portions were incredibly generous, and we couldn't even finish everything. We were so full that we didn't eat dinner that night. The table next to us was celebrating a birthday, and the restaurant even played a fun birthday song over the speakers. Yellow Cow is a great spot for K-BBQ when you want a delicious experience without having to drive all the way to K-town. We had great service, plenty of food, and a wonderful time.

The chicken was fresh, crunchy (even after transporting home) well seasoned and flavorful. The sauces were phenomenal and I was happy the sauce can come on the side in the event I wanted to save some the next day. Food was great, staff was great, i definitely will be returning

CM Chicken didn't just feed me, it spiritually uppercut me with flavor. This place is the Korean…read morefried chicken equivalent of getting hyped up by your funniest friend trying to warn you about the spice level of the food. Service here is quick, warm, and occasionally chaotic in a charming "we're hustling, my friend" way. One minute you're sitting down, the next minute a plate of crispy chicken lands in front of you like it teleported. Even when they're busy, they move with that "we got you" energy. "Is it perfect? No. Is it fast enough that you forget you were ever hungry? Absolutely." The chicken... my God. Crispy like it trained in a dojo. Saucy like it's trying to flirt. The seasoned chicken hits harder than other spots, a little spicier, a little louder, a little "I hope you cleared your schedule." Portions are generous. Prices are a little tad bit higher, but honestly, you're paying for chicken that could win awards and maybe even run for office. Probably not, lol. As for the Flavor, well if you like things on the spicy side good, this is the spot. I understand why people come back multiple times a month. I almost signed a lease in their parking lot. lol. Imagine a sports bar... but cleaner, less sticky, and with chicken that doesn't taste like regret. TVs on, drinks flowing, weekday happy hour doing what makes you feel good, enjoying life one bite at a time! It's casual, fun, and the kind of place where you can yell "THIS CHICKEN IS CRAZY" and nobody judges you because they're yelling it too. Parking's on the side or parking lot can be a bit challenging, but well worth the taste and ambience of the place to make you forget about it. Miguel C.
