Hidden gem alert! Open 8 months ago. Stumbled upon ATTO and it totally exceeded expectations. If you're craving Korean/Chinese comfort food, this spot hits the mark. The vibe is cozy with K-pop playing in the background, which somehow makes the whole experience even better. The portions are generous--honestly enough for two people to share. We ordered the seafood scorched rice soup, which was incredibly fresh and packed with flavor. That crispy rice at the bottom soaking up the broth? So good. We also got the sweet chili Korean fried chicken, and it was perfectly crispy with just the right balance of sweet and heat. What would pair well with your meal is soju but don't worry alcohol is coming soon. Everything tasted fresh and comforting, like the kind of meal you leave feeling happy and full. Definitely a place we'll be coming back to. If you're nearby and looking for something casual but delicious, ATTO is worth checking out!

I forgot what this is called but it's the crispy fried pork, it was sooooo goooood

came here w my mom and cousin cus I saw reviews about their malatang and it didn't disappoint! We came here at like 815 and it was empty! The food is really good but there was no one here! I was a bit shocked but this location is actually not a very good location in Gardena for a restaurant business. I hope they last though! I've seen this place change business like 4 times over a span of only a few years. Anyway, the malatang is really good. The broth is catered to more Korean taste buds so it's less herbally than the usual malatang. We also got the dakhanmari which means 1 chicken in Korean and they put a whole chicken in broth and cook it that way. I'm not a fan of chicken that's not fried, but it was okay and the broth is very clean and refreshing. They also give you 부추 kimchi and regular kimchi on the side for it. The crispy pork skin thing was my favorite. I forgot what it's called on the menu but it's basically 탕수육. The inside is really cute and vibey. Has a more modernized pocha feel. Service was good but we were the only ones there LOL! Shoutout to the guys that were there, hope your restaurant thrives cus this location is tough.

Try the mala hotpot its very tasty! Come with plenty of meat and veggies. Enough to share for two people. The location is clean and staff is nice and attentive. Seem like it may be a popular place to hang out at night for drinks and food,

Tried this place after having it on my list for a while. Tteok bok ki is one of my favorite dishes and has been since I was a kid. Was stoked to try it here. While it wasn't the worst, it wasn't the best. $20 for the dish was somewhat reasonable. But the rest of our food was $35-$40 per dish. We wanted the fried chicken but they were out. We ordered a dish with glass noodles and when it came out without it, they said "we're out of that too". Would have been nice to tell us that at the beginning. Also if you only have 8 - 10 items on your menu, it feels wild to be out of ingredients. Overall I'd say the place is a one and done. If the dishes they have hit a nostalgic soft spot for you, maybe it's worth it. But for the price and what's on the menu, I don't think I'll go back.

This chicken is rlly good. I'm rlly recommend the place.

The service is friendly, the food is delicious, and they stay open until midnight. It's a great spot to hang out. Highly recommend!

Everything was delicious, delicious and delicious. The spicy pork with tofu was super delicious Seriously, all the dishes were amazing. I need to go back again and eat the remainder of the dishes I didn't have. The four that I tried during this visit were superb. Service was good. And the place was very clean.

Solid Korean/Chinese pub restaurant! We came here with a group of 3 and parked on the street since there wasn't any parking in the small lot. We ordered and shared the - Garlic soy pork rib (4/5) very flavorful but not as tender/fall off the bone as what people or menu was saying - Army stew (5/5) so flavorful and comforting. Would order again - Malatang (4/5) definitely spicy and I like spice. Could feel the numbing effects of the spice so didn't drink as much soup but contents were good. We kept refilling out waters in the front Friendly service and homey spot, I'd come back when they have their alcohol license for beers/soju!

Ambiance: it's a trendy Korean and Chinese comfort food restaurant opened in South Bay Area, it has replaced the previous bomb fried chicken place Service: very friendly and attentive, patient with questions and served food adequately Food & Drink: simple menu items Banchan - ** very limited kinds, kimchi, garlic, daikon Guo Bao Rou - **** Sweet and Tangy Pork Loin, Crispy-fried pork loin tossed in a sweet and tangy sauce, authentic and tasty, it's so crunchy and crispy, highly recommend Malatang - **** A spicy, numbing soup made with rich mala broth and a mix of beef, fish cakes, bok choy, sprouts, mushrooms, and warm, bold, and addictively flavorful, served with sesame dipping sauce, recommend for the variety Price: moderate portions and reasonable prices, expect about $35 per person

We were looking for dinner and remembered that this place just opened. That was a great decision! It's a smallish resto inside. I forget the setup of the prior resto that occupied this space but it feels same-same but different. They're not able to serve alcohol yet so your options are soda or water. We ordered to share: Malatang. Oh, so good! So spicy! I will definitely order this again after we try the other items on the menu. Bonus: their rice is really tasty! Sometimes rice is just rice. Other times, restos serve really good rice. This is one! Guo Bao Rou. It's basically breaded and fried pork loin. It's not overly flavorful. There's a sweet sauce drizzled over the top. I am not sure if it was honey. However, we found it somewhat addicting. I wish they had more smaller, crunchy pieces mixed in with the regular pieces. I tend to look for crunchy bits! We had a lovely dinner. The guy working the front was friendly and checked in a few times but otherwise let us enjoy our meal, and enjoy our meal we did! Try it! Enjoy!

I had a great experience overall at Atto. I arrived around 7pm on a Saturday and there were not many customers around, maybe 1 or 2 other groups, but I suppose that could change in the future once this restaurant gains more traction! The decor is home-y but tasteful, I enjoyed seeing a lot of potted plants around and everything is organized so neatly! I noticed that the chairs were either cushioned or had pretty thick sturdy floor cushions on them to make sitting and eating comfortable for customers. That's an A+ consideration. I was able to try the fried chicken and the ribs. I think overall, I liked the ribs better than the chicken. True to the name, the ribs were pretty garlicky and tasted like soy sauce but were not very saucy, and they were extremely tender. The fried chicken was good, but I had hoped for better. The sauce is very sticky and mild. I wish there had been a little more spice. The chicken seems to be a mix of breast and leg meat. I seem to have mostly gotten pieces of chicken breast, which were pretty dry, but the dark meat pieces were very good. I believe another review noted that the restaurant is clean, including its bathroom, and I can vouch for this. The bathroom is a little small because it looks like it might have been a storage area that was repurposed, but it is still nicely put together and has everything one might need in there.

I come here often. The mala xiang guo and guobaorou are always good, but this time I wanted something warm and gentle. I've already tried their whole chicken dish and wanted something a bit lighter, so I ordered the seafood crispy rice soup. I was feeling under the weather, and this was exactly what I needed. The chicken-based broth was so comforting that I finished everything--including the extra rice--with nothing left to take home. It was delicious and actually helped me feel better. ATTO never disappoints.

Finally found a new go-to malatang spot! I've been looking for a place with good malatang nearby in this area for so long, and finally found it here at Atto. The malatang here was amazing. Super flavorful, the perfect level of spice, and the portion was HUGE. It was packed with meat and veggies and we shared it between two people, which was still more than enough. I came on a Friday evening around 5:30pm and there was plenty of seating available. The service was amazing the entire time as well! Super nice and attentive. Such a great experience! Highly recommend coming here if you love (or want to try) malatang. I'll definitely be back!

It also seemed to include some new items, or at least ones that weren't printed out on the placemats. We've previously tried their cold noodles, galbi, hot stone bimbimbap, tofu soup and seafood pancake. All are pretty good but the cold noodle is our favorite. This time we ordered their fishcake kimbap and the cold noodle and galbi combo. I previously saw photos of their kimbap but didn't see it on their menu until now so I was excited to try it. It comes with 20-24 pieces and a side of soup, quite a lot actually for one person. The kimbap was as expected, it was flavorful, had a slight crunch (from the pickled radish) and didn't fall apart easily while eating. It comes with a dipping sauce but it wasn't particularly noteworthy and I didn't feel it is required to use. The cold noodles were a bit different this time but overall had the same flavor. It comes with half an egg, pickled vegetables, slices of cucumber, and slices of meat in an icy broth with buckwheat noodles. Be sure to add the mustard and vinegar for added flavor. The side of galbi was as expected, but doesn't arrive sizzling like at many other Korean restaurants. The flavor can vary, sometimes more flavorful than other times but overall it still pairs well with the cold noodle. Service can be a bit spotty, especially when they only have one server doing everything. It can be hard to flag someone down so be prepared to sit around for a while if they have less staff and many customers. Overall not a dealbreaker but just something to be aware of.

We gave this place a try because we were excited to see they have Rice Wine here (since most of the mainstream KBBQ places didn't have this), and we were satisfied beyond our expectations. Parking: A very small dim lot next to the restaurant. Right below the small sign that sits above it. Ambience: We came on a Saturday night (7:00pm) expecting busy wait times but we called in and there was no wait! We were immediately seated. It's a very small restaurant, the booths are big enough to fit a family but bigger parties may need to call in to see if space is available. The vibes are especially different from most bigger and popular places but this qualifies as a hidden gem for sure. Service: Quick and nice! Second time coming to a place where they cook it for you at some points and serve you. They check on you often enough and were quick to see you get all that you ordered. Food: Absolutely nothing I've never had before, we knew we wanted brisket and pork belly, we skipped out on the combos + intestine sections bc of this. Luckily our two meat combo qualified us to also receive a soybean paste soup, steamed egg, and corn cheese for free! We additionally added rice paper to our order for a small charge. The menu is vast and I would like to come back here to try their different meats. I have never had a more flavorful brisket in my KBBQ experience before and the pork belly was thick enough and had that chewiness texture that made it so enjoyable. Regardless, our small bodies were filled by how much food we received! Overall, I gave this place a chance despite its smaller reviews, smaller atmosphere, and a generally smaller presence this had in comparison to its competitors. I would suggest you do the same too!
