This place is the Korean fried chicken equivalent of getting hyped up by your funniest friend trying to warn you about the spice level of the food. One minute you're sitting down, the next minute a plate of crispy chicken lands in front of you like it teleported. Even when they're busy, they move with that "we got you" energy. "Is it perfect? This place is a great place to try. I love Korean fried chicken for the crispiness and flavor. It's located in a small plaza that surrounds other places I want to try. The customer service was greats The girl who helped me answered all my questions and was very polite. Keep in mind they still have to fry your chicken so it's about a 10-20 minute wait. I wasn't very hungry and wanted to grab something to take home. I tried the garlic soy tikkudak chicken. Apparently this version is fried then baked so it's more crispy. The wings are yummy. They are crispy and the soy gsrlic is slightly too spicy for me. But I'm a wuss at spice so take it with a grain of salt. It's still worth a try though. Upon walking in, you'll find a relatively open space with tons of seating. Jade did his thing with his customer service. Other than myself, he had 2 additional tables with other solo diners, and a large party occupying a long table in to watch the World Cup. After being seated, he gave a quick and thorough run through of the menu. He also put me onto the lunch special. For $12.99 you can get 5 juicy wings with a flavor of your choice, a roll, coleslaw, your choice of regular or waffle fries, and a soda. At face value, it doesn't sound like a lot of food - but the wings are a good size and the serving size for fries is mad generous. The parking was okay, we actually found a spot on the street. Overall, the service was okay, and I would come back here, the food was definitely flavorful. One negative when I revisited for takeout, I asked the attendant for hand wipes because I had the chicken wings. I highly recommend trying the curry wings with their onions on top its a perfect mix of freshly fried and fresh onion crunch/taste. You order from a kiosk so your interaction is limited with staff. So far, they are nice and happy to assist with recommendations but you do have to call to your server. There is plenty of seats to stop by with friends or family to catch a game or some beers after work. The location is large and very clean. They offer happy hour and some other daily specials you can find on their website. Only negative is that they need to change their paper they serve some of the items. It easily "melts" into the sauce because of how thin it is and it cant handle the amount of sauce most the orders have. In the past, the food and service were enjoyable, which made this recent experience even more frustrating. The menu choices were also very limited compared to what was advertised, with multiple items unavailable and no effort made to offer alternatives or communicate properly. The quality of the food did not live up to expectations either. The chicken lacked freshness and flavor, and the overall presentation felt rushed and inconsistent. What made the experience worse was the staff's complete disregard for resolving concerns or making things right when issues were brought up. Considering how much better this location used to be, this visit was a major letdown. The server gave us a rundown of favorites and personal suggestions, though as it often happens for us, we tend to think there won't be enough food to go around. The order ended being a half original fried chicken, another half chicken with soy garlic, tikku soy garlic gizzards, a plate of uncommonly Romanized topokki, a bowl of coleslaw, two bottles of Terra, and a pot of mushroom nabe soup. On this particular evening, the soundtrack had a mix of rap and R&B, with stuff like Frank Ocean and Childish Gambino filling the air. The quick stuff like cole slaw and toppoki were served pretty fast, while the other stuff took a little longer but not by much which is great considering business was bustling. Cole slaw tasted like your standard issue slaw, though others remarked that it was a tad too sweet for them. What we had not accounted for was the chicken came with a shredded cabbage salad with dressing as well as a side of pickled radish, so now we were over-vegged. The toppoki's taste and texture made it a nice starter. Chicken was hot and fresh as expected. Soy garlic is the kind of flavor that makes me want to inhale food, so having it on both the chicken and gizzard was indulging. I ended up with their spicy garlic chicken with waffle fries and a strawberry lemonade. The free pickled daikons at the table were good, not too overwhelming for me. The lemonade I thought was very sweet then very tart. Much too extreme for me, and I didn't particularly enjoy it. The waffle fries were nice and crisp with good seasoning. The chicken was sauced well yet retained a solid crunch. The inside was tender and moist with hints of the brine they used. It packed a really spicy punch with some sweetness and garlic flavor. Not exactly my flavor profile but excellent nevertheless. Even with all these positive notes, I personally did not enjoy it enough for five stars from what I suspect is my own choices. Got the spicy chicken gizzards and the half chicken in garlic soy, total was around $38 but between two people with decent appetites we had food to take home. I didn't have high expectations for it since it doesn't look like they have a full kitchen, but it was undercooked in the center and the sauce was just ok. For many many years, bb.q chicken has been our reliable go-to spot. My husband and I loved bb.q in NY and we love our local bb.q shop here in Lomita. Last summer when we visited Seoul, we realized that the only way Korean fried chicken could get better was if it used even better quality ingredients.
