I was trying to switch two deadbolts from front and rear doors so the finishes on the front door would match. I removed them ok, then could not complete the reinstall. I had all the pieces separated in different containers. I called and spoke to Udi. He told me $85 for the service call and $80 an hour for labor, but it shouldn't take his cousin Adam more than a half hour. Adam showed up 15 minutes later and immediately dropped one of his tools in the street. Then he told me I was missing parts I wasn't missing.... then he wanted to hunt through his screwdrivers for the right size screwdriver for five minutes straight when I had the right one handy... then Adam wanted to raise the price over the $130 tops that Udi had quoted me even though it only took him 20 minutes to install both locks. The next day when I told Udi that Adam hemmed and hawed about the $130 at the end and acted like he wanted more, Udi said, "That is only an estimate.... you need to remember that." I will not recommend a business that does not abide by what estimates they give you and I have dropped this review one additional star for Udi's lack of professionalism in standing up for Adam's attempt to price gouge me when Adam took LESS than a half hour. If you are a single woman living alone, get a locked in price quote at the beginning and make them stick to it. DO NOT let them hem and haw at the end with, "Well, let's see...." as Adam tried to do with me when you have already got a labor quote on the phone. CLEARLY THESE PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT WHEN YOU HAVE ALL THE PARTS AND YOU ARE PAYING LABOR ONLY, A LABOR ESTIMATE IS BINDING. read more

As a consumer I was surprised about the pricing, and stated "Wow." simply because I wasn't knowledgeable about what he was referring to when he gave me a cost over the phone. His response was "What is wow about it? (idiot)". He went on to explain to me as if I was an idiot what needs to happen because everyone knows that, right? I hung up because I was shocked and had nothing good to say in return and had no plans to use his services. So - Quick Key provides SAME DAY service. Udi got hung up on another customer job and called us in advance to let us know that he was running about 15 to 20 minutes late. So why rate 5 stars? 1. We had a great experience with Udi and Adam. They gave us a free estimate and we made an appointment for the same weekend. Their price is very reasonable. They picked up the locks they suggested for us at no additional charge so we did not have to make a special trip to Home Depot or any other hardware store. They gave us the run down on what locks are easy to break into and suggested a good lock for our needs. They had to do a lot of extra adjustments, cut a bigger hole and did not charge extra for the amount of detailed work they had to do. Our house is settling so the locks get jammed up sometimes. I left a message on Quick Key's website, but I didn't get a call until a few days later. That's okay, as I didn't have an emergency. If you do have an emergency, I'd recommend calling them. Udi was very flexible when I called and met me at my house after I got home from work. I showed him my lock and the problem. I was concerned that he'd have to order a replacement deadbolt and handle, but he was able to keep the existing deadbolt case and replace the actual deadbolt inside. He gave me my pick of quality/expense levels and once I told him which one I wanted, it only took him 10 - 15 minutes to install the new deadbolt. The new lock is much better, the action is smooth and everything fits together very well. Udi was very friendly, accommodating and punctual. We spoke yesterday and he came out this morning to do an easy job on our new home. I had him rekey 4 locks that all utilize the same key. He was here perhaps just shy of 30 minutes. Contacted Ethan at Quick Key Locksmith with an urgent need to have our business protected after an employee was let go and wouldn't return our key. Not only did Ethan respond to my Yelp inquiry in just a few minutes, but he was able to give me some very sound guidance about the type of passcode lock I should get that would pair up with our alarm system. Then, he came out to our business that day and got our locks rekeyed, so we could be protected while we ordered the pass code door lock that we decided on.
