This includes the installation of AP's on different floors. I hired Enterprise Communications to run Cat 6 and install jacks in my new home. Ricardo was the first to answer my call. He was clear and polite and got me an initial appointment to survey my house the next day. Enrique handled the initial appointment. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. He gave me a very reasonable quote and I was able to pay the deposit online, which was convenient. I figured there would be a lead time before they could get to the job, and that it would take a week or more once it started, but Enrique said it would only take a single day and that they'd be able to do it within a week or two. Later that evening, they got in touch to let me know there had been a cancellation and they were able to do the work the very next day! Enrique and Ricardo arrived for the installation around 8:00 AM. After going over the project with me again to verify everything they were going to do, they got to work and finished the entire job in about 4 hours. They installed six jacks around the house, terminating at a panel in my home office near where my ISP's modem will be installed. The jacks were clean and clearly labeled at both ends. They also installed some moulding to improve the appearance of a cable they ran from the fiber hook up in the crawl space, across the back wall of the garage, and through the wall to my home office. We have been engaged in an extensive remodel of our 95 year old home, which necessitated removal of lath and plaster in order to run electrical lines. With the walls open, it was a good time to update the wiring around here, so we had the electrician run a lot of landline, coax cable, and CAT 6 cable to nearly every room in the house. Unfortunately, however, the electrician knew nothing about terminating and managing these low-voltage cables. After being unable to pry quotes out of low-voltage companies to whom the electrician and some friends referred us, we took a chance on Enterprise because its Yelp reviews made it seem like a company with which we could get along. I was especially impressed by the photos of the clean-looking installations here on Yelp. I called and was able to get an estimate within a day or two. The bid was reasonable for the amount of work involved. Ricardo had some ideas but also incorporated my input into the final proposal. The work itself took a few days for a three-man crew. The guys were friendly, respectful, organized and efficient. They also had little issue with difficult working conditions that included a lot of cramped quarters. At the end, they left a network that needed little tweaking and was quite usable. When one hiccup arose after they left, Ricardo was willing to return the next day to troubleshoot. (As it happened, I was able to figure out the solution myself and saved him the trip, but these guys are willing to stand behind their work.) My biggest endorsement is my willingness to hire these guys again if we need more low-voltage work. Enterprise are professionals who know what they're doing. For our large home, to get wired Ethernet in all the important spots we were previously using mesh WiFi with wireless backhaul. This gave us around 400Mbps -- not terrible but also no match for fully wired connections. We also saw ping times to our gateway of 3-4ms, which affected NAS performance. We decided to run 10GbE throughout our home and hired Enterprise for that. They did a stellar job running CAT6a cable throughout. Reasonably priced for the amount and complexity of work (external conduit along the roof, dropdowns in various spots, took 2.5 days total). Both of the brothers who own and run the business were onsite and involved in the work -- I later chatted with one of them and they said they usually come onsite for projects like ours. During that time it has "grown organically" - that is, layer upon layer. Dozens of wires in some rooms, with little or no consistent labeling. Things came to a head a couple of weeks ago when we had a power failure that killed several switches and left the AT&T router in need of complete reconfiguration. Upshot was that I could not rebuild because of wads of Ethernet wires that weren't labeled and that ran every which way between floors, between rooms, etc. So, time for a completely fresh start.
