We had a power outage and our cameras have stopped recording. I have been trying to coordinate a service call with them through their extended warranty and have had no luck for 10 days now. I had a phone call with one tech who logged on to my computer remotely, then figured out that they could not fix the problem. Now I am waiting for a physical person to show up, after being promised that, and they have not scheduled anyone and I have not gotten any response to my email. We spoke on Thursday, they said "We will try and have someone out tomorrow". It's now Wednesday and radio silence. read more

I asked this company to check the defunct HD on my relatively new CCTV. They said they don't work on systems they didn't install. They said they would sell me a new system. The cost for a new system was in the thousands. I called a computer repair company in Walnut Creek. They replaced the defective CCTV HD with a much greater capacity industrial quality CCTV HD in a matter of minutes! Amazing service all around~! I can't say enough for this company, out of alll the new contractors/services we had to hire with moving, this company (especially Matt and Scott) have been the coolest, most laid back but also efficient and attentive to detail- super responsive and understanding with requests and questions. Ami helped to coordinate installs was a total Angel because our schedule is Hectic and our project of sorting out multiple old systems, broken sensors and contacts, and a mess left by the old company (nothing was labeled or organized) required multiple visits and at odd times- I really appreciate that the installers were committed to doing everything right even though it took more equipment and time than we originally anticipated. Also love the head engineers that are familiar with lots of systems to help with random WiFi/network errors. The systems themselves are sleek and easy to use with the app. The sensors can be delayed or disabled for certain purposes. I also accidentally set off the alarm silently, they called me and the cops, and were able to call off the cops easily once confirming it was me. Lots of nice safety features to this alarm which Scott tested to make sure they worked as needed :) We compared to another well know local company that seemed a bit outdated (no app access/control) and a giant national company (expensive setup, less local, not as individualized attention). Our community finally updated our gate security system. The new system works by installing an app on your cell phone. I am based out of New England, but one of our offices is in San Francisco which needed a complete network upgrade. I contacted Safe and Sound. They went out to do an assessment of the location and came back with some suggestions and a quote. After an initial assessment was done, we had a couple of video conference calls and when all was said and done, we hired Safe and Sound for the job. Included in this job was running, terminating, and testing 40-50 network drops as well as installing a wall mounted rack, and full height server rack. The result: Amazing Job. From start to finish and everywhere in between, they were friendly and professional, and I could not have asked for a better result. There were a couple of small tasks that were not in the original quote, that we asked about and they were more than happy to help us out (with no additional charge). After all the work was done, I was followed up by the project manager to verify I was satisfied with the work that was done. It's the little things that differentiate a good job from a great job and this company seems to go above and beyond for their customers. By the end of the call, we were already talking about bringing them back to run additional drops, adding a new security system that includes user/badge access and additional security cameras. For a company that is supposed to provide you security, they do a terrible job of information security. They have emailed me a bill including the home address of one of their customers repeatedly. Even after I emailed and called them that they have the wrong contact information. They assured me that my information was removed, yet they continue to harass me about a bill that is not mine. Beware! I've been a customer for over 4 years, but since this past September they started double-billing me each month despite me calling repeatedly to ask them to stop and refund the extra charges. They blamed a new billing system that they switched to and promised they'd have it fixed but it's been months and they keep double-billing me. They promised to refund me with a check and send me a tracking number, but even the tracking number showed that FedEx never received it. I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt but they kept taking advantage. Utterly ridiculous. If you're a customer, be sure to check your bank statements! If you're not, stay away. read more

Met Zack (the network guy) back on March 2018. The company had provided bids for combination of access points and poe camera's to be installed at a site in South Bay. Outside sales people have a rudimentary understating about the equipment so it was refreshing to meet Zach who had a decent grasp of networks & deployment. ( I jokingly call him the only Caucasian network CCNP employed in the Bay Area) The bids came in higher than other reputable bids (my other bids were authorized HIKVISION dealers). I had to request they come back down to earth a little on pricing to which they agreed. Work began on my site May 3rd, 2018. Scot took charge; he showed good leadership skills, making difficult decisions that led to some unexpected turns and delays. Six Comcast lines were severed ending service to 6 units on day one. The next day the company spent a frantic 7 hours re-establishing service for residents. A big error had been corrected 24 hours later, although stressful and critical, Scot handled repairs diligently. Safe & Sound last worked May 11, they are not available to complete the project until June 4th, (31 days from start of project) - This presents a different kind of problem as the installers don't fully recall what has to be done and the wiring room is a complete shit show, but once again a good recovery by the team lead by Scot & Zach on day 33 bringing systems online and working 100%. Unexpected & unwelcome delays, but flexibility-determination to provide a good customer service saved the day. Yes the install could have been smoother, definite room for improvement for sure. That being said the company philosophy is they care about the end outcome and I can hold them accountable for deficiencies which makes me feel a lot better. The install towards the end felt like a rushed job, but you can't argue with the statement "the project is complete" Project completed July 9th, 2018. Multiple site visits later in Sept 2018 to resolve issues. They are responsive to request for service. read more

After I explained what I needed to be done, Mark writes back "sorry we cant help you, thanks for reaching out" that was such a blow off message and then I responded with can you go into detail why I can't be helped, when I spoke with someone over the phone they said my project should be fine. Security System was installed by the highly skilled, professional, detail oriented, meticulous Evan Dauster. Evan from Safe and Sound Security did an amazing job. He took his time to precheck all sensors individually to make sure they all functioned properly and communicated with the control panel. Also, before he moved on with the job he convinced us that moving the current panel from the Kitchen to the hallway was the right thing to do. even though this move means more work for him, he did the right thing and didn't rush his job. My moving the panel he had to now remove the existing panel and patch the hole behind the panel. since we had paint he came back a couple of days later to touch up the wall for us. During the patch and paint he did a clean job. When he installed the sensors in all the windows, Evan made sure he installed the magnet and sensor in the most concealing way possible and this took time. I have seen in my friend home in Los Angeles where it was installed at the bottom of the window and it looks so obvious and eye sore. However, in our home Evan took his time to install and check it to make sure they all functioned properly and at the same time it is aesthetically good. Evan was respectful of our home, in the process of installation he identified a dead cable wire and removed it for us. Also, after the installation Evan took his time to walk me through the functions of the control panel. Again he didn't rush the session. Evan made sure I understood how to operate the system. We are so happy with the service and products we received from Safe & Sound Security. If you look at my reviews, you'll see that I've only ever written 2 1-star reviews ever. One for an absolutely horrible AAA experience and the other for our security system installation and service at our previous house. That experience makes me shiver to this day, and so when we moved to our new home, I wasn't looking forward to setting up a new system at all. I worried that there would be nonstop issues again, or that the police would come every couple of days due to faulty sensors, etc. (yes, it was a horrible horrible experience with the old company). But from our phone calls with Shannon and Amy,​ to our initial meeting with Dustin, and our installation with Jeremy, everything has been so pleasant and we cannot be happier. These four are superstars by the way. Every single person is very pleasant and nice to talk to. Update: After the issues we had during our initial installation with the surveillance cameras the prompt and decisive action by Ami Gault was above and beyond the call of duty and it is indeed very much appreciated. She contacted me directly and offered me an outstanding customer service and magnificent follow up . She listened to my concerns and initial disappointment with the staff that we initially dealt with where all the miscommunication's happened and was quick to help and offer us options and solutions. Through her efforts she demonstrated that Safe and Sound do value their client's experience and will make every effort to make it right. Initial post: We should have known better but we are new at this whole home security situation. I probably would've gone better by buying security surveillance's at our local Costco. Everyone seems to be under trained and customer service lacks professionalism. Cameras are from RING which after a month YOU the CUSTOMER have to purchase video recording if you want to be able to see what is happening when you get an alert and this is ON TOP of what you are ALREADY paying as a monthly fee. The told me they'd get back to me when they got a new supply of Skybell cameras. They never called back. I called & MONI they referred me to Joan at Safe and Sound. We had a Safe and Sound security system installed in May after a few years of stalling and doing extensive research. The #1 reason we ultimately went with this company is because Mat (promotional manager) told us that the motion sensor would "definitely" be fine with our large dogs. No other company ever gave us the assurance, especially with the false confidence that Mat did. Angie's list and Yelp both had very good reviews but I now question these. Problem #1: Racksmy installed the equipment poorly causing our mobile app to not work so we never knew if the security system was armed or disarmed. The day he installed it, he told us the problem must be with our phones or carrier. After calling Safe and Sound and after a false alarm (see problem #2), Evan came back to fix the problem. The antenna was shoved into the wall and not carried up into the attic as recommended to receive an adequate signal. Evan fixed it and it works fine now. Problem #2: Within a week of installation, the motion sensor went off causing a false alarm when we were both at work and not readily available by phone and could not easily leave our jobs. Concord PD came to our house and found nothing so that means it was set off by the dogs. Safe and Sound's solution was to remove the motion detector (which was why we got the alarm in the first place) and for us to pay more money to have glass break sensors installed. In the meantime, the dogs did hundreds of dollars worth of property damage as a result of being terrified by the alarm siren. Problem #3: Lies and breach of contract. We were told no permit was required but this is not true. Concord does require an alarm permit and failure to comply or having excessive false alarms results in fines. We are very frustrated about the lies told by S&S concerning the permit and the equipment. Companies that lie for business should not be supported. They are in breach of contract because they promised us things they couldn't deliver. We are looking into getting out of our 3 year contract with this deceiving company. The only positive part of this whole situation was that Evan (the second installer) was hard working, honest and kind. He was at our house for hours and was able to get our security system working properly. For more than $50 per month, I would suggest you take your business elsewhere. read more

I had Safe & Sound for over three years but recently had to cancel. I do like their customer service, they're always friendly and helpful, but I recently called a couple of times looking to upgrade my system and never got a call back, even though they said someone would call me back that day. So, having said that, I'm not going to beg someone to keep me. Unfortunately I switched companies due to an offer I couldn't refuse. I did try to keep them though. I would recommend Safe & Sound. A little pricier than others but they are local and are usually pretty attentive. My alarm went off a couple of times and they were always quick to call. I also had an issue with my motion detector and they came out and fixed it free of charge. I would consider going back to Safe & Sound one day. read more

After a few calls to them no call back to discuss a upgrade. Then Safe And Sound shows up one day promising the world. After signing up and a few months later I find out I am dealing with Moni. Now Brinks! Is there a company that provides real service? Maybe Arlo, Glock and a junk yard dog are a better solution. Shaun Ferguson came to our home and gave us a thorough explanation of the system and how it works. We looked at the other big local and national companies (Bay and ADT) and what we liked about Safe and Sound was the fact they install a two way speaker in your home and if the alarm goes off, a live operator asks for your password and you can tell them what your emergency is. The system also has a smartphone application so you can set your alarm from your phone which is hugely convenient. The monthly rate is reasonable but they do require a 3 year contract so make sure you know about that when you are comparing systems. Their equipment is made by GE and they work with Monitronics to monitor the home. We were also pleased with the service from Gabe, the technician who installed the system. He had a hard time finding the pre-wire in the home, but he was very courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Overall the service so far has been very good. One thing: I would recommend making your appointment with Safe and Sound last because they offer promo deals but they are very strict about only offering the deal on the day they come out for the consultation. That's a little annoying but if you already have your quotes from the other companies, you will be prepared to make a decision. Also don't be afraid to ask for referral discounts and to negotiate the best deal possible. All the companies seemed to have special offers/deals and wiggle room when we pressed them for better rates. read more

One evening, we got a knock on the door from a salesperson for Safe and Sound Security. I was pretty firm about it being a bad time, so the guy said he'd come back, and he did. My husband spoke to the salesperson who came to our door and set up an appointment for another rep to come the next day. Dustin came, gave us the rundown (although we had made up our minds that we were going to move forward with SaSS). He was a little late, but we were informed that he'd be late. He committed to about 30 minutes and that was the time he took. The next day, our security system was installed. My husband and I both agree that all service reps and installers were efficient and professional during the process. I check out their rating with the Better Business Bureau and it's an A+. We have never been burglarized, but there was an attempt on our home that was stopped by a vigilant neighbor. Recently, we had some suspicious persons knock on our door looking for some tools to help them with their vehicle. I think that was BS and they were interested in seeing if someone was home. After these two incidents, we figured we needed an alarm system. The Alameda County Sheriff's office has told us several times they they rarely (if ever) write burglary reports for homes equipped with alarms. Now mind you - I typically do not talk to salespeople knocking on my door. Connor scheduled some time for one of the representatives to meet with us and go over the options. They were really diligent in work and very prompt in appointments and never waste a minute. I had a tamper which needs to be addressed and they came very promptly and fixed the same thing the next day. Definitely recommend them! Its been 2 months since I have their system.
