I had a strange condition where my ethernet for multiple devices suddenly dropped off. Wifi continued to work. My "simple" home set up has a cable coming in to a distribution panel for all home inputs, going to a modem in another room that has the router next to it, then back to a powered switch located in the panel and out to ethernet devices. Dan agreed to come out, but we worked a diagnostic plan that allowed me to show it wasn't the router, the cables to the switch and was probably the 8 port powered switch in the panel. I replaced the switch and I'm working. I didn't have a chance to test him in person, but I very much appreciate the remote help and will add him to my contacts work. read more

I had Dan revamp our exterior camera system following a security breach at our residence and am extremely pleased with his work. I am happy to recommend him to anyone looking for security camera installations in the Bay Area. He does a very thorough job and is patient in his work and exceedingly courteous. Initially Dan came by for a consultation where he assessed every angle of our house exterior and determined where to install cameras to ensure no blind spots in security camera coverage. He recommended areas for wired and wireless (solar powered units) cameras. In total we ended up settling on 6 exterior cameras. On the second visit he did a thorough soup to nuts install of the exterior cameras and corresponding interior monitoring system. In all it took him ~7 hours. He was extremely methodical and careful in his work (eg with existing wiring and other infrastructure). We would agree on camera placements after he explained the pros and cons of different positioning options. He wanted to make sure I was happy and fully understood the rationale behind his work. On the third and final visit, a week after the initial install, he sought feedback on how the system was functioning and corrected any perceived deficiencies. I am happy to report that the system is now functioning very well and we truly feel secure. Dan just installed 5 cameras for us around the outside of our house. He installed 2 Reolink WiFi cameras and 3 Reolink battery/solar cameras. He was very helpful in recommending the best cameras for our house. He was able to position the backyard camera to capture the entire backyard which freed up one of the cameras for the other side of the house. He consulted us about the positioning of the cameras and cords as well as the camera view. We didn't want the sideyard cameras too visible and he positioned them perfectly. My home had limited attic crawl space and was a very tricky to figure out the best solutions and locations for security camera placements and wiring.
