I knew the network hardware I wanted (Ubiquiti/Unifi) but needed a professional to run & terminate the wiring and install the hardware. I got quotes from 4 local companies and WizTec's was among the most competitive. They came to my home and walked the site with me, discussing my plans and offering excellent suggestions. I decided to purchase all of the networking hardware myself (rack, router, switch, cameras, UPS, etc.) while WizTec supplied the labor, wiring, and all of the termination hardware. As part of the project, I also asked them to clean up my existing coax runs and bring them back to the rack in case I ever need them in the future. After I selected WizTec, we exchanged numerous emails clarifying details about the project, recommending camera models and locations, AP locations, etc. They were extremely patient, answering all my questions and helping me to source the hardware for the project. When the install day came, they were on time and extremely respectful of my home. They worked very hard to get all of the camera runs within the walls of my house--one of the crew spent most of the day in our crawlspace pulling cable to the four corners of the house. They managed to install all of the cameras directly on the exterior walls without resorting to conduit, something I figured would be a challenge. They made minimal and very tidy cuts to our interior drywall in a few places, and repaired all of the cuts expertly (to be clear, WizTec replaced and secured the drywall pieces they cut--I had our sheetrock guy come behind them and finish the repair/resurfacing, and I'll paint it myself). They terminated all the runs cleanly and tested everything. Throughout the process they were extremely polite and communicative, checking in with me numerous times when they had questions about how I wanted something handled. It took them two days, but all of our cameras are installed, APs are live, and ethernet runs are in place. Everything comes back to a rack that is extremely tidy, with everything labeled and extra wiring on both ends of all the runs in case we need to move things in the future. I couldn't be happier with WizTec's work or the finished project.

In those two years Jake has reached out 3 times to check on my home and his work. It just seems to be how he is. In those two years I've reached out with some admittedly stupid questions and each time he's addressed my concerns without any snark or down talk that some techie guys use when speaking to plebes. I needed additional home tech stuff and naturally I reached out to Jake. His response was timely given his work load and he immediately offered elegant solutions to an inelegant problem. (Someone in my neighborhood is actively using my gravel yard as a dog pit stop and leaving me nasty surprises ). Jake offered some very clever options up to and including an outdoor speaker paired with my existing camera system (that he installed ) to politely ask the offending dog owner to remove their dog waste. Ultimately my wife vetoed the idea of me having the ability to leave audio messages for bad neighbors. But Jake's suggestion of an upgraded new camera with AI facial recognition and a wider field of view was perfect. Within a week Jake personally came back and upgraded the camera thus negating the one small blind spot the offender had been using. He kept his word. He sent me tutorials and worked with me not even being home to ensure that I was 100% satisfied with my upgraded surveillance view before leaving. Setting standards and holding yourself to them are key to excellence. Keeping your word and delivering what you promise are key to excellence. But. Excellence isn't derived from robot like adherence to guidelines. It's a combination of many intangible things. It's rare these days to encounter true excellence in almost any field. In case you're not aware, Deep Sentinel will either sell you their wireless security cameras, their POE wired cameras, or may be able to use your existing camera system to monitor your property 24/7 with "Live Guards!" So, I contacted Deep Sentinel who have excellent customer service by the way, and asked them if they could work with my existing Reolink camera system. Since they have never tried Reolink cameras, they told me that they'd try to see if Reolink was compatible with their Deep Sentinel Hub & technology, but they could not guarantee that it would work. They then recommended that I work with their premier vendor named Avati Audio Visual. I originally contacted Drew who was very helpful and from then on I dealt with Dick Hall who turned out to be Amazing! Since I was Deep Sentinel's first customer to try working with Reolink cameras, Dick had his work cut out for him. It took months of installations, troubleshooting, out of the box problem solving, numerous talks with both Deep Sentinel techs, as well as Reolink techs, just to get all of my cameras working. That's what happens when you're the guinea pig for a camera that's never been tried before. Anyway, after months of Dick's determination and him not giving up on me, he finally got my Reolink camera's to successfully work with the Deep Sentinel system! He is definitely an asset to Avati Audio Visual, Deep Sentinel, and the tech / installation industry as a whole. He needs to be commended for all that he does and given a raise! They're busy, so it's weeks or months to get them to come out and we need to pay $180 for them to come out when they're able to make it. 2+ years later all bets are off whenever we want to watch something on our system. It also feels like the system they recommended is a couple levels beyond what we needed in price and complexity. I'd recommend them for the wiring but I'd find someone else to do your system. If you do use Optimal Systems I would ask them to agree to a warranty on the original system working properly so you aren't stuck paying them for their travel time and work time to fix the system they install.
