I asked to do a on site visit and the technician came in the next day and inspected my house and gave my options. They were familiar with the challenges of 100+ old houses. First, these guys are unbelievably good. I wanted to rewire my house. I had it wired with CAT5E previously, and I needed something that could carry 10 G in most of the house and 40G between the office, the garage, and my gear/server closet [ don't ask me why. However, I am running a small lab that requires a high-speed network at my house. ] So, I wanted to wire everything with CAT8. My house is two stories--about 3000 SFT. The quote came in significantly lower than that of other contractors. The discussion was far more detailed and concise than the others'. Berik (the main guy I was dealing with) seemed to know what he was talking about. Comcast bumped up our connection speed from 100 Mbps to 1 Gbps, but our networking gear was too old to take advantage of it. We got some quotes for a newer Ubiquiti gateway and switch. Some providers were super aggressive about upselling us on gear; others ignored my inquiries about consolidating our equipment into a single cabinet and adding ventilation; others were flaky in their communication. Wiztec responded promptly, sent Berik out to do an assessment, and gave a reasonable estimate. I made a deposit for the new hardware, then once it arrived, scheduled the installation. Their crew arrived promptly, managed to figure out the existing setup (our previous installer had stopped answering my emails and I was locked out of the admin interface), and did a neat installation. The new setup frees up a bunch of storage space in the cabinet, the ventilation they added is keeping everything at a reasonable temperature, everything has backup power from the UPS they added, I have full administrative control over the network, and our Internet is 10x faster. Our company made the wise decision of hiring Wiztec to harden our security on two multi-family complexes. Wiztec's owner, Berik, is very experienced, friendly and capable of understanding what is needed without overdoing it. Very happy with the experience. One project involved an existing non-functioning security system that we really wanted to restore to have oversight of our front gate, parking lot and garbage area. Berik is a true professional that I'd be happy to work with again. Berik and his colleague wired up 6 outdoor POE cameras, 4 wifi indoor cameras, and 2 access points in my home. It was a pretty big job and I think the work they did was fantastic. Wiztec is fantastic to work with! They were very fast in responding to inquiries and scheduling appointments. When Berik came to our house, he was very friendly and courteous. We are a household that doesn't wear shoes inside the house, so he instinctively put on booties prior to coming in the house. Little things like that make you realize that Wiztec watches every detail. When doing their installation, they had little garbage bags to put the waste in, so you know no scrap would be left behind. When Aidos was working on the network panel inside the closet, he used painter's tape to tape up a small trash bag so he could conveniently toss everything in there. They also had a little vacuum to suck up all the dust from when they had to make cuts. When they were working above the cherry wood built-in media cabinet, they taped down some paper to protect the surface. They also measured everything so the wall-mount bracket would be centered and at the right height above the cabinet. The whole Wiztec team was very kind, didn't try to upsell you on anything, and their pricing is great! They will also give you hardware recommendations, so you can buy the stuff yourself and they install it. Their work was meticulous and definitely up to my picky standards. Wiztec did an outstanding job reinstalling my 75" TV on the wall and rewiring 32 feet high quality 8K HDMI cables from the TV to my equipment in a cabinet through the walls. With these exchanges, we selected the TV wall mount and the type of the HDMI cables. The company that originally installed my TV used low quality HDMI cables and did a terrible job.
