We were hacked from a site that extracted most of our contacts. We had a quick computer audit (about 2 hours) and we learned there was no malware on the computer, so the damage was limited to the extraction. However, yahoo put a block on our email account which we were unable to get re-established despite our best efforts. I am a contract software developer that prefers Linux. However, I often works at client sites where I am required to use a company-issued Windows or MacOS-based laptop. To be able to use the development tools that I have configured for max productivity I will typically launch a 'guest instance' of Linux via Virtual Machine platforms like VMware, VirtualBox or Parallels. On a recent contract I was issued a Mac and I faced many annoying issues getting my environment right with Parallels, and then VirtualBox. I naively bought an Echo Show (Alexa with a screen) and two outdoor cameras thinking it would be all plug and play. I wanted one camera to keep an eye on the dog playing in the yard and the other to show who's at the front door. It was NOT plug and play. It required setting up WiFi, clouds, initializing cameras via ethernet and computer, etc. I finally gave up after lengthy communications with Amazon, the camera makers, etc. only made me more confused.
