My mother's 2012 MacBook Air would no longer login so she wanted to get a backup of the data. After exhausting every step, I knew how to do, I realized getting the data would take tools and equipment I didn't have access to. Fortunately, I found TechCare through Yelp, and they were able to extract the data from the drive, and remove the hard drive so the machine could be recycled. Ray took the time to show me how the data was structured and explained how to find the photos and music within the nest of folders. I brought my computer in to get it fixed because the OS crashed. I couldn't create a restore disc or even boot up my computer. Note: Since they're claiming my review on Google Maps is fake, I added a screenshot of the INCOMING call I received from them when they told me they got the screen and to come over for them to replace it. I don't understand how this place is still in business. I had a green vertical line on my Google Pixel 8 that was intermittently showing up. Called them to ask for a quote and they said they can replace it for $249. I did ask on the phone if they were going to replace it with an OEM part and they said yes. When I went, the person took the phone, said come back in a couple hours, and when I did, before picking the phone up I asked again if they replaced it with an OEM part and he said yes again. When I picked the phone, I noticed at first it wasn't recognizing my fingerprint, and then I noticed the selfie camera was very obviously misaligned and pictures taken with it had a black blur because of that. When I tried to enter my password there were phantom and double taps without me even touching the screen, and the screen itself was nowhere as bright as my original screen even in direct sunlight and maximum brightness setting. The same person who literally less than five minutes prior told me they used an OEM part was telling me he wasn't sure if it was OEM! Then, he showed me the box of the screen they used and it clearly stated Aftermarket No Fingerprint Sensor (attached a photo of the box with this review, he did try to hide it from me too but I took it)! Now, instead of a screen with a minor intermittent cosmetic issue I ended up with a broken selfie camera and no fingerprint sensor. He just nonchalantly stated "Take it to someone else"! To add insult to injury, when I took it to an actual Google authorized place, they told me the green line issue was a known one and covered under Google extended warranty but they won't be able to use that due to the botched repair, but that the actual repair cost with OEM parts and labor was pretty much the same as this place (if I become a member), except with legit components this time! I ended up paying out of pocket and I'm writing this review now on the repaired screen to warn others from ever doing business with this company. read more

I called this place in a hurry because I accidentally erased all the photos from my SD card, and I was anxious about not getting them back. Ray efficiently retrieved my erased data, and the wait time was around 24 hours. I had approximately 400 photos and five videos. Only two of the five videos were successfully transferred, and some images were corrupted during the transfer, so I could not see them. Fortunately, those photos and videos were not that important to me. Ray said he would keep my photos on file for a week after, just in case I had this issue.
