These folks are truly incredible. Some background: over a decade ago, I spent a several years repairing Macs at the Genius Bar, before moving onto other roles within the company (and eventually after many years leaving). Flash forward to now: my work MacBook Pro suddenly completely dead. No power, not charging, and all USB-C ports showing only drawing 5v. I did my own work down, attempting to isolate to bare minimum components in order to get it to boot. I've worked on enough of these machines to suspect liquid damage even though there hadn't been any spills or anything, and I pulled the logic board and did a close visual inspection looking for blown MOSFETs or any real sign of dried liquid. Found nothing, and I was a little disappointed that my old skills were failing me. Critically, I needed data on the machine that had not yet been backed up. (Dumb.) Unlike back in the day, there's no removable flash storage chip that you can mount in an enclosure and get back on data. In fact, the data itself is now encrypted against the security chip on the machine, so really the only option is to get the machine booting again, or spend $2000-$5000 on forensic data recovery (and even then with the encryption, I wasn't confident if that was a viable option anymore). I knew that if I brought the machine to Apple, they would try very few things to get the machine up and booting with my data intact before replacing components, and thus taking my data with it. I also knew I was probably looking at $1500-$1800 in logic board part cost. I bring it to Alex and crew at MacFixed. Alex called me within 24h and filled me in on his initial diagnosis, which told me that I wasn't missing anything silly and that the issue was way deeper than anything I could address. Approved the repair and he went to work. Pricing was an incredibly good deal, somebody this skilled deserves to be paid for their time, and with the amount of time debugging that this kind of issue would require, I got out the door for $550 which is an absolute steal. I mentioned the alternative repair options and their prices, and hopefully that puts that cost in perspective. Well, Alex solved it, after spending an entire weekend on the thing. He told me he eventually noticed something just slightly off on a surface mount component's pad, just a slight shift in coloring, and desoldered it on speculation to finally find the issue. Some truly microscopic amount of liquid managed to wedge itself under the chip and short out the entire machine. He replaced the chip, revived my machine, and even maintained a backup for me while I went home to get a second copy for redundancy created. He said he saved the chip to show me, and when I picked up my machine I couldn't believe how small it truly was. Unbelievable. Attaching photos to this review. We had a liquid event on a Macbook. He worked late on Thursday to fix it and return it on Friday. A lifesaver!

1. They do not use genuine Apple parts as claimed. The replaced display is really dim, has a green hue, and flickers as compared to genuine Apple screen. 2. True Tone is not available with their after-market screen. They did not tell me this beforehand. 3. The repair person, Alex, threatened me multiple times to take away my computer while I expressed dissatisfaction with the new screen. In addition, he made me feel physically endangered while I deliver and pickup my computer at his home office. He loves to brag about his experience and gaslight customers when his work does not follow through. His ego is too big for the quality of work he does. As we can see in the other comments, he likes to threaten his customer, such as suing them for leaving a bad review. 4. In the end he put back my old broken screen without my permission, and refused to refund me the full amount. read more

I absolutely recommend this business. Last week, a cup of water spilled on my Macbook pro and long story short destroyed the motherboard (logic board). I took it to Apple the next day and they recommended buying a new laptop since the cost of repair would be almost the same price. This process would wipe the data clean which I hadn't backed up. They told me I could send it out to have the data recovered through their trusted third party companies. When I called that company, they quoted me anywhere from 800 to 4k for the job. Being thin on options, I googled Macbook repair and this business came up (I made sure to check all the reviews). The communication was one of the best I've experienced. I sent it in and they repaired it in 2-3 days with everything there, it was as if the laptop was never damaged. All the data was kept and everything works perfectly. I brought in my MacBook Pro for a Factory reset. My laptop was giving me some issues when trying to start it up. Not sure why. I don't use it as much as I will like but it can be an inconvenience whenever I do need to use it. I called and asked for a quote for battery replacement and factory reset. The guy says it need a new battery and some system upgrades $200. i approve the work and paid for the repairs. I take it home and i cant open anything, keeps spinning. I was a bit thrown off when I was directed to a residential area, but I was greeted by someone in a MacFixed shirt and that alone calmed me down. (I guess I'm the kind of guy who would help Ted Bundy load a couch into his van if he was wearing a Couchmovers shirt). Anyway, I know that people in actual shops are likely to have quotas to reach or bosses instructing them to upsell and rent to pay and all that nonsense, so I'm cool with the whole home office approach. I only wished they had asked me if I accept cookies. Get it? Anyway, my 11" Macbook Air was warning me that my battery was failing, both with an actual warning and by unexpectedly shutting off during my film at 30%. It ruined my film watching experience. Now I won't know what happened once the pizza guy got there and the girls didn't have enough money to pay. *kicks a sock* Anyway, I replaced my battery with a Chinese one online... and I think it gave my computer Covid. Instead of waiting one day for it to disappear like a miracle, I put it yet another battery and then my trackpad wouldn't work properly. It moved, but would no longer "click" and wouldn't drag or drop. Now, maybe you did I what I did- I went to MacForums, MacWorld, MacHelp, even MacDonald's because I was getting hungry after all that research. I rebooted things, and pressed magical buttons, and turned it on and off (gee, thanks), and unscrewed and screwed those tiny screws so many times my fingers have a six pack. Despite people online having the same problem as me (I mean, other than addiction to fast food and "computer" films), I couldn't solve my problem. So, a diagnostic charge was a no-brainer, knowing I could use that fee toward an actual repair OR I would at least know that I was too cheap to get it fixed. It's kinda like a vet bill. Do you pay all the money to get it fixed or do you just tell your kids your computer ran away? I was charged an hour labor and everything is fine now.
