My Sony TV wouldn't power up and had a red light blinking 6 times. I tried a reset but nothing worked. Black screen and blinking red light, an issue with the led backlight or powering issue. Two really nice guys from clickAway came to my home the same day and managed to reset the tv so it's working fine for now. They helped me reassemble the sound bar (tougher than sounds) and charged one hour. A lot better than a new tv for now. My goal is not to argue about the $99 I agreed to pay, but to highlight the lack of transparent value for customers with budget-friendly machines. For example, during my follow-up calls, I was quoted $299 for a diagnostic + backup--a $100 increase from the initial $199 quote. When I challenged this, I was told the lower price was a "manager's discount." This inconsistency in pricing only added to my lack of trust. For others in this situation: If your laptop won't power on and your main goal is to save your data, you do not need to pay $199-$299 for a "pro" backup. For my HP 14-fq1003cl, I was able to recover everything myself for a fraction of the cost: I searched "how to remove the disk from HP 14-fq1003cl" and followed the simple steps to remove the internal drive. I purchased an M.2 NVMe to USB adapter (enclosure) for about $15. I plugged my old drive into the adapter and connected it to another working computer's USB port. I had instant access to all my files. I hope this helps others make a truly "informed decision" before spending nearly the cost of a new laptop on diagnostics and backups. ------ Original 3/14/2026------ I am extremely disappointed with my experience at ClickAway Almaden. I chose this shop based on their high Google ratings, but my experience was the complete opposite of what I expected. I brought in a 2-year-old HP laptop that wouldn't power on after the battery drained. Despite being promised updates by the afternoon for the "free basic diagnostic," I never received a call. I had to follow up myself at the end of the day, only to be told they couldn't find the issue. They then pushed an "advanced diagnostic" for $99 (or $199 with a backup). I paid the $99, hoping for a professional resolution. Again, I was promised an update the next day. Again, they went radio silent. I had to call multiple times, and each time I was told a technician would "call me back," which never happened. When I finally got an answer at the end of the second day, I was told the charging circuit was the issue. Their "solutions" were financially nonsensical: 1. Pay $199-$299 to attempt a motherboard repair. 2. Pay $400+ to replace the motherboard. The entire laptop only cost $230 brand new. Suggesting a repair that costs double the value of the machine--after charging $99 just to tell me that--feels like a predatory business practice. Between the lack of communication, broken promises on status updates, and the unreasonable repair quotes, I cannot recommend this place. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

They took my call, walked me through the process with the free estimate, I met with them about an hour later, they called me a few hours later with resolution and cost, then I picked up the tower the same day. My old MacBook Pro's screen went out. After doing a bit of research online, I learned that the backlight was not working. My husband called the Apple store at Oakridge Mall and was quoted $552. He then called Click Away and was quoted $199 including the fix and labor. That was a no brainer for us! I took a severely damaged Macbook Pro here in the hope that something could be done to salvage it. As a side note, I got this computer for free and it was nearly a decade old, so I was really just hoping to avoid losing some files and buying a new Macbook Pro. Which start at $1,600, ouch. Anyway, the people were very nice and kept me in the loop throughout the process. The process being they found a refurbished, newer-than-mine-but-not-new Macbook Pro, and transferring my files there. I guess my decade of ownership hadn't been kind, because they said the screen, keyboard, motherboard, battery - everything was garbage on mine. So it was cheaper to replace the whole thing then source the parts. Anyway, this is fine as I got a basically new computer. So what can I complain about? If you need some electronics repair, come here! You might not get a new computer, but you also might not NOT get a free computer. You'll never know unless you try. read more

"Free estimates" aka " Free diagnostic" not sure what they mean by that term that they use on here and on their website. I wasted my time taking my laptop in today.Called prior to going in to see if it was ok to bring in my laptop with no power issues. I was told it was fine and confirmed that I didn't need to bring any wires or accessories. Get there and I was asked by the tech for the charger which I did not have. He didn't bother even trying to connect a charger himself, he litterly just flipped the screen open and said it would be $99 to see what was wrong with it. Not sure if the flip of the screen was the actual "free diagnostic" but I didn't bother to stick around I just said no thank you and left. Mind you aside the false advertisement, $99 just for an actual diagnostic is a bit steep. Took it to Central computers off Stevens Creek and they charged me $39 for diagnostic read more
