I have a ThinkPad X1 Carbon and the screen stopped turning on; however the rest of it still works. I was told running the Android Lenovo Diagnostics app could help, but there may be a hardware issue - can you share a cost estimate for this?

Test with an external monitor. If it works then most likely the screen needs to be replaced. The second less likely possibility is the cable.

I have a Razer Blade Pro that won't start - I suspect a fuse. Can you fix it?

Thank you for your question. We do motherboard repairs

My son has a Game Boy SP that stopped workin. It won't turn on even if it's fully charged. Can I have it fixed?

Sorry but we don't work on game boy consoles

I have a gaming pc that freezes and makes a loud buzzing noise when it does freeze. Any solutions to solving this issue? Any idea what it can be?

Hi Kobe. Do u have an embedded graphics card on the the motherboard to test the computer when you take the Graphics card out? Do that first. If it still hangs then I would…

Hello, my Macbook pro will not turn on. It also doesn't respond to the charger when I plug it. Can you give me an estimate of how much this would cost to fix?

Hi. We offer free diagnosis for these type of issues. It could be a faulty AC jack with a drained battery or the logic board. No appointment is necessary so please free to come by.

My MacBook Pro 15 inch 2015 model has a cracked display, how much does it cost to replace the display?

Hi. It's $435 to replace

I have a Lenovo Ideapad U510. As I was disassembling the back for a battery diagnostic and SSD upgrade, I accidentally broke the lock clip for the keyboard connector. What would be your cost to fix this?

Hi These repairs typically range from $65 to $125 depending on the model.…

I have Asus D550m old laptop that I bought 2-3 years ago and I was wondering if I can upgrade the graphic card and Ram and others to make it compatible for the games OR buy a new one?

What is the model of the laptop

They have always looked out for us, taking care of our computer needs, especially when we need their computer experience to "fix the problem". When they service the equipment they also check to be sure it is working properly and advises us of problems that should be fixed. The personnel is always friendly, helpful and quick to respond. Terrible experience. We brought in our MacBook Air after a few drops of water got into the…read morekeyboard. We called several repair shops, and this was the only one that told us the evaluation was free, so we drove a long way to bring it in. They told us they would open the computer and inspect it, but instead they powered it on immediately and left it closed. The next day, it was obvious they had not opened or inspected it at all. Then suddenly they wanted $99 just to open the back and take a look inside, which was completely different from what we had been told before. Without even opening the computer, they insisted that it would never work again and tried to sell us another laptop. The whole experience felt dishonest and honestly felt like a scam. We wasted two days driving back and forth and lost valuable time when we could have left the laptop open at home to let the moisture evaporate. The way they handled it made us feel as though they wanted the laptop to get worse so they could charge us to repair it.

He was fast, efficient, and very communicative throughout the entire process. Everything was straightforward, friendly, and professional, and I had my laptop back in less than 36 hours. These folks are truly incredible. Some background: over a decade ago, I spent a several years…read morerepairing Macs at the Genius Bar, before moving onto other roles within the company (and eventually after many years leaving). Flash forward to now: my work MacBook Pro suddenly completely dead. No power, not charging, and all USB-C ports showing only drawing 5v. I did my own work down, attempting to isolate to bare minimum components in order to get it to boot. I've worked on enough of these machines to suspect liquid damage even though there hadn't been any spills or anything, and I pulled the logic board and did a close visual inspection looking for blown MOSFETs or any real sign of dried liquid. Found nothing, and I was a little disappointed that my old skills were failing me. Critically, I needed data on the machine that had not yet been backed up. (Dumb.) Unlike back in the day, there's no removable flash storage chip that you can mount in an enclosure and get back on data. In fact, the data itself is now encrypted against the security chip on the machine, so really the only option is to get the machine booting again, or spend $2000-$5000 on forensic data recovery (and even then with the encryption, I wasn't confident if that was a viable option anymore). I knew that if I brought the machine to Apple, they would try very few things to get the machine up and booting with my data intact before replacing components, and thus taking my data with it. I also knew I was probably looking at $1500-$1800 in logic board part cost. I bring it to Alex and crew at MacFixed. Alex called me within 24h and filled me in on his initial diagnosis, which told me that I wasn't missing anything silly and that the issue was way deeper than anything I could address. Approved the repair and he went to work. Pricing was an incredibly good deal, somebody this skilled deserves to be paid for their time, and with the amount of time debugging that this kind of issue would require, I got out the door for $550 which is an absolute steal. I mentioned the alternative repair options and their prices, and hopefully that puts that cost in perspective. Well, Alex solved it, after spending an entire weekend on the thing. He told me he eventually noticed something just slightly off on a surface mount component's pad, just a slight shift in coloring, and desoldered it on speculation to finally find the issue. Some truly microscopic amount of liquid managed to wedge itself under the chip and short out the entire machine. He replaced the chip, revived my machine, and even maintained a backup for me while I went home to get a second copy for redundancy created. He said he saved the chip to show me, and when I picked up my machine I couldn't believe how small it truly was. Unbelievable. Attaching photos to this review. I'll come to ya'll again in a heartbeat and sharing positive word of mouth every chance I get. Thank you again guys.

I received "No" after "No", but Ray reached out and said he had an idea. My gaming laptop was no longer powering on and due to its model, essentially every repair shop said they couldn't handle it. I was able to come by and drop off my laptop for a diagnostic check. An hour later Ray was done and sent me a highly detailed Diagnostic report with findings, causes, and recommendations. My issue required a full motherboard replacement so we weren't able to proceed with any fixes. Regardless, I am grateful to the expertise and support Ray has given me for the laptop. If I have any other pc issues in the future, I would return to TechCare, they know what they're talking about!

I called them at 5:50pm and spoke with Ray "I think he is the owner" anyway I told him what was going on and he said to come on down and that he would wait for me. When I arrived I noticed that they have a big Yelp banner on the window, I walked in and spoke with Ray about the problem and showed him a picture of what the error was, he was up front with me and explained that if the hard drive was bad that he would not be able to save my data. I told him to do his best to save my data. The next day he texted me with a quote and said that he would be able to fix it and save my data. I told him to fix it. About 3 hours later he texted me again and said to come on by and pick it up. Now when I arrived he didn't just give me my computer and send me on my way, he sat me down and explained that I have 3 different options to save my data just in case the hard drive or computer crashes in the future. He also said that if I'm not sure how to back up the hard drive or need help with anything to call him and he would walk me through it. When all was said and done, he charged me $299 out the door and my machine is working flawlessly!! Thank you Ray! You got a customer for life.
