I hate writing this. Perhaps I got a dishonest counter person. I dropped off my phone for a battery replacement after receiving a quote of around $75. I was told it would take a few days. I had already bought a new phone and had been unable to restore the apps, UI, etc. because my old phone wasn't working. After a couple of days my new phone suddenly started restoring my old configuration, indicating that my old phone had started working again. A little later I got a phone call from Quick Fix that they needed to "replace some chips on my circuit board" so the new repair cost was $189 (!) now. I knew something was off so I picked up the phone and took it to Zac's in Santa Clara. They replaced the battery for $55 and everything was fine...no chips were bad. I had avoided a blatant rip-off . Shame on Quick Fix for this attempt to steal from me. read more

Contacted several businesses in area in regards to a cracked Dell laptop screen and no one would speak to me on the phone. The name of this place is deceiving, a more accurate name might be NotQuick&notFixed Computer Services. Why a 2 star rating: -They NEVER and I mean NEVER called to update us on the progress of our repair. They offered "when _ _____ (there are a few examples)_______ is done we will call you." They NEVER CALLED. When I would call and inquire I was informed of NEW hold up reasons and re-assured that when they complete the next task they would call. They NEVER called...... ever. - Although they had our computer for 2 almost 3 weeks, they just could not fix it. Granted maybe it was beyond their knowledgeable But I am under the impression any part that fails in a computer has a replacement part. To their compliment I thought the guy out front was both very polite, and friendly. My lousy review pertains to the store and not the guy you meet out front. (I cannot name names, but if you for some odd reason go to this place and meet a nice guy, then you will know who I mean). We found these guys via Yelp. Nice guys, but I think the Yelp review is in-accurate and they just cannot fix things..... BUT worse than that you hand over your stuff and UNLESS you call You might not ever see your stuff again. My advice is go someplace else. But if you choose here, then ignore the "we will call you" comment and just make sure you get THEIR card and you call them. read more

I just wanted to pop on and write a quick review for the great folks at Quick Fix in Mountain View. I came into work yesterday morning, and my Dell laptop would not power on. I tried everything to get it to power up and looked up various methods online and worked with my company's IT to no avail. It is a super busy and stressful time at work and I was desperate to get it working. I called the guys at Quick Fix and they were able to get me in same same day; for an additional fee they we're able to rush the diagnostics. Turns out, apparently Dell computers run super hot, so the computer's "thermal paste" inside was completely fried/dried out and the computer shut itself down to avoid internal damage. This part had to be replaced in order to turn the laptop back on. They also just did a quick internal cleaning of the hardware. It was back up and running by the end of the same day. I am eternally grateful for their quick and friendly service and highly recommend them for all your computer repair needs! read more

My laptop fell down and wouldn't want to turn on - black screen and beeping. I suspected that most likely the components inside were just misplaced and actually almost took it apart but it was trickier than I expected and didn't want to damage it. Anyways, I asked the guy (Oscar) if he could look at it right away because it's almost taken apart and the issue is probably a misplacef part. I've worked in high tech for decades, and I know good work when I see it. In the 90s, I built a computer from scratch, but it was easy then. I wouldn't try to fix my own computers now because they are so much more complicated, so that's why I was happy to find Oscar Juarez's Quick Fix. I have a lot of old computers that might still be useful. A few months ago, Oscar and his support engineers repaired an shaky Acer Chromebook for me, and just recently they have given my very old Dell XPS-13 a second life as a Linux laptop. It's given me a welcome alternative to Ubuntu on the wonky Windows Subsystem for Linux, and it's working great. Quick Fix does great work quickly and at a reasonable cost. My first time at Quick Fix was several years ago, when the new computer my boyfriend built for me refused to start up. We dragged the tower in for some professional help and they were able to fix it right up. I still have that same computer and it's still going strong...well, with a few small exceptions. Fast forward to about two weeks ago, when one of my internal hard drives gave up the ghost. It was my dedicated games drive, with nearly a terabyte of game installs, save data, gameplay recordings, etc. Nothing on it was really vital--all my important stuff was on my other hard drive, which still works fine--but I figured it would be nice if I could have at least some of it back. So I took my poor busted hard drive over to Quick Fix, since by now I knew they did good work. Oscar was able to recover the data, but the cost of doing so was a bit beyond my price range. I decided it wasn't worth it; I'd rather just spend that money on a new hard drive to replace the dead one. So when I went in again and relayed my decision, imagine my surprise when Oscar told me he'd be willing to knock a significant chunk off the price. That is a deal I can get behind. After all, he'd already done the recovery (which I was not expecting), so it'd be silly not to pay the man for his efforts. So I walked out of Quick Fix today with all my (completely not important) data intact on a new 1TB external hard drive (which I'd been planning on buying from them anyway), and a much happier wallet. I went here because I had gotten stuck while repairing my own laptop - a screw seemed to be stuck. In a few minutes Rami had the screw out with a smile and no charge! With a little more detail - I actually walked in, asked for help with removing the screw, and described the screw as "stuck". Rami explained to me that they could extract the screw for a charge of $25, mostly because of the labor time it would take. I started to fill out my contact information, and in the meantime he looked at it a bit and asked me what screwdriver I'd used. I pulled out my screwdriver, and he sort of scoffed and said "you probably bought this from a hardware store for like $5 or something, right?" - which was true, but his mannerism bugged me. Then he went into the back, brought a screwdriver and proceeded to pull out my screw. Patiently, he said: "When you do this sort of work, it's important to have good tools." I offered to pay him, and he politely turned me down, noting that the job didn't require the labor time he originally thought. The quick lesson in hardware repair and free fix were great; but more than anything, I really appreciated the dignity with which he ran the transaction. You can trust this shop! read more
