The written scope did not include infrastructure planning, signal design, or custom fabrication. The work requested was limited to: Mounting three TVs In-wall cable concealment on two TVs using existing wall paths/media boxes One new in-wall outlet (clearly called out and requested to be included in the quote) No drywall repair, no structural work, no permitting Despite this clearly defined written scope, the estimate was later characterized as covering "custom mounting," "infrastructure planning," and other items that were not part of the work requested and were never discussed. The quote came in at roughly 10× higher than multiple other licensed and insured installers for the same scope. The public response provided appeared to be boilerplate and did not address the specific written scope. It even referenced "[X] years of experience" without a number filled in, which suggested the response was copied without reviewing the details of this project. Before deciding, I verified licensing through the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) using the business name listed on their website. The CSLB records show the associated contractor licenses as expired, with a status stating the license is "expired and not able to contract at this time." Screenshots are included. For additional context, California limits unlicensed or handyman work to projects of $1,000 or less. Being quoted $5,000 for this scope made the pricing and justification even more difficult to reconcile. Experience and tools matter, but pricing and representations should align with the actual written scope of work and current licensing status. Attention to details matter as well, not clearly understanding the SOW, rushing quotes, and replies. Replying without understanding the issues. I will not being doing business with Basil as trust is important. I recommend getting multiple quotes, keeping scope in writing, and independently verifying license status before proceeding.

He started with my home 10 years ago and did a terrible job AKA total hack job so I ended up taking him to court and we worked it out.. Stupid me ran into him again 3 years ago and ended up having him do my business cameras 3 years ago and his work quality got much better but he was very expensive but I gave him the job for he seemed eager to please me. I had everything in writing along with a 3 year warrenty on parts and labor along with support if any was needed. Well I needed some support and after 20 calls he finally half way answered my questions and I ended up figuring the rest out myself. I had a bad camera like a year ago and he refused to replace it until I showed him the contract and threatened court again, he finally fixed it after many calls. I still have like 6 months left on my warrenty now and he told me if anyone else touched my cameras my warrenty would be no good. I needed to add 6 cameras and he gave me a quote for 3900.00 and we negotiated it to 3500.00 then he changed his mind and insisted on the 3900.00. I Agreed to pay the higher quote as I was stuck although not comfortable at all working with him any longer. He did the install using 6 pixel cameras and cat 5 in which both are way out dated along with running bare cat 5 wire over 100 feet to feed a camera as all my other wires are in conduit. I went to inspect the job and told him that he could not run bare wire and demanded he put the wire in conduit and looked at his work for he drilled in the top of a waterproof box and made the hole to big and did not use proper fasteners and used bathroom caulking to seal the hole and just threw the 8 port switch in the box along with the electrical and left. It rained that day and I asked him to go back and reseal the box properly and to make sure all the equipment was dry. He said he did and I didn't trust him so I went out to inspect the box to see he did not reseal the box properly and the inside was all wet and condensation everywhere. I told him he did a terrible job and did not want to pay the balance until he fixed it properly. He told me if I didn't he would go tear out all the equipment and sent me nasty videos. I called the Police and they told me to pay him and sue him. I paid him and told him to go fix my box several times as he never did. He went on vacation and all the new cameras went down while he is currently on vacation as I contacted him and he told me I had to wait until March 6 when he gets back.... I told him he is f ing crazy to get someone out here now and he told me he is a one man show LOL wonder why?? I told him I was gonna have someone else come fix it and bill him. He agreed to reimburse me 200.00 for the service call. I had it fixed by a professional company that charged me 200.00 for the call and 150.00 to replace the 8 port that got wet along with fixing several of his cables that were not secure and flimsy n falling apart (See Pics of Marcos work of the box before and after it was properly done). I called Marco and he refused to pay for the guy to come out So were gonna take this whole thing to Judge Judy and see what she says!!! Do yourself A big favor n Stay Clear of this Man and his work for he is NOT a good person and his work is way way below Par!!!

I reached out, gave some background as to my problem and was on their schedule for service within a day. My tech onsite Steve was fantastic. He was friendly and polite and just an overall good dude. He quickly identified a few different issues and had my system back up and running after an hour of software updates backend changes to some network configurations. Hermary's is expensive and service has ranged from so so to horrible. This last service visit this past week was the final straw and we will be replacing our blinds so that we will never have to deal with Hermary's again. The technician they did not manage to fix our issue and said he was not a blinds person (yeah...). Then he managed to destroy one of the blinds by letting it roll up unevenly--it is not unusable and the tech could not fix it. Do NOT use Hermary's.
