My fiancé and I made the annoying mistake of locking ourselves out while walking our dog this morning (UGH). Luckily, we called Quick Key and they were at our condo in less than 20 minutes. From the time we called to the time we were in our condo was about 30 minutes, if that. Cost was around $100 which was reasonable considering how fast and pain-free the process was. They are insured/bonded and recorded our call when we requested the service for security purposes. Used these guys based on someone's recommendation but they live in Chicago and I'm in the Schaumburg area so I got a locksmith out of another of their locations most likely. It was an easy job to just replace locks/keys and turned into a 4 hour fiasco. Guy tried to sell us a new keypad that was not needed. He was not prepared, lazy attitude, and then didn't have a deadbolt in his trucks and left for 2 hours to go back to office. I would not recommend this place. I needed my mailbox lock and a lock to my storage changed and was very pleased with quick key. It wasn't an emergency service, but found availability to come within 48hrs of my request. i had an emergency the day of the original booking and totally forgot they were coming until i got a call from them saying they were outside. Despite my mistake, they were very accommodating and incredibly understanding and rescheduled me for the next business day (happened on a Friday so they came on Monday). They were communicative and even took the time to call me twice the day of to confirm (probably because they thought I'd bail again lol), and came within the time frame offered. I went in to get two sets of keys made. The young man behind the counter was very professional and friendly and helpful. He patiently explained the pricing when I had confusion about it. He worked fast. And he offered to help me put the caps and tags I just bought from him on my new keys. He also offered me a little baggie for the keys. When I told him that Google still lists the business's previous address, he said he would alert the office manager. He was wearing a mask, and a sign on the door made it clear they expect customers to do the same. The pricing was fair. I was very pleased with my experience. These guys were great. I came home Saturday night after thanksgiving to find my electronic lock was dead. I call Quick Key and within an hour on a holiday weekend they were there. They tried to pick the lock but due to the high security nature of the lock they were unable to get it open. It was frustrating that they couldn't get in but also reassuring to know it was a really good lock. Ultimately we had to drill the lock but at the tech's suggestion we went to the back door and drilled that one since even though it was a high security lock it was not as expensive of a lock to replace since it was going to be destroyed by drilling. We had them out a second time to look at locks on our condo building because few garage locks that were improperly installed and someone was able to break in. They fixed the existing locks and educated me on how they got in and what are more secure locks. If we decide to install new locks we will definitely call these guys. read more

Jay showed up at my first building about twenty minutes after calling to say he was on his way. Showed up ahead of our scheduled block time and proceeded to troubleshoot the two rear apartments first. That ended up being a real clusterpuck, but he was able to resolve those problems and then troubleshot the front apartment on the second floor... Easy enough fix... Have to order a new intercom...(I was prepared for THAT assessment- seeing as how that system was well over 15 years old)... Then we headed to my other building... Breezed through the ten apartments where, thankfully, the worst problem was three pushbuttons and an amplifier... He'll have to order those parts and get back to me when they're in. Overall, on a scale of ten, I'd give them a 12. His perseverance and they're pricing was very satisfactory and I'd definitely recommend them to anyone who asked. Thanks guys!!! read more

Extremely impressed with Quick Key's service. My dead bolt had basically snapped and fell out of my back door. Because it was more of a new hardware issue, the first round of locksmith's I called couldn't help. Quick Key came over the same day I requested an appointment (within a 2 hours), took measurements in about about 20 minutes, ordered the part and gave the option to pay for next day delivery which I did. It arrived the very next morning and was installed in less than two hours later. They even re-aligned my door frame to prevent it from happening again. So, despite needing a new handle/bolt from a random manufacturer which I never would have been able to identify on my own, they went from first contact to fixed in less than 48 hours. Also, they keep your number via caller ID so when you contact them, they have your project, invoice, etc. all pulled up right away. They also are very responsive via text messages which is great. Wow where do I begin!? I am dealing with a nosey roommate who enjoys going through my things when I am not home. I put a lock on my door initially and went out of town to deal with personal matters. Imagine coming home to your room being broken into and your door completely ruined. This is what happened to me. I ended up calling a few places but this place stood out to me because they were really sympathetic to my situation. Chris on the phone was very kind So was the owner And Ramon! OH RAMON! This man is TALENTED! Literally the best locksmith I've ever seen. He's also kind and really takes the time to explain to you what you're getting. He installed locks on my door that make me feel super protected and safe! As you can see from my previous reviews, I'm no stranger to the excellent service Quick Key delivers. They've previously worked on the intercom system for my condo building, but this time, I had a personal problem... Some lily-livered, no-good thief, seemed to have jimmied their way into my personal storage closet inside the building, damaging the lock so badly that it could not be locked again. I only noticed because I was finally putting all my Christmas decorations away (yes, it's April, judge if you must). I immediately called Quick Key and Chris said Ramon could be at my house within an hour. Perfect. When he arrived, this is exactly what happened... Ramon appeared, his long curly hair blown back by the wintry air we call Chicago spring. I showed him to the door and he inspected it. I went back to my condo. Now, I wasn't there watching him, but I am pretty sure that the moment I walked away he pulled magic dust from his toolbox, warmed it ever so slightly in his hand and blew it onto the lock. Because about 10 minutes later, he yelled out for me to come back. And it was FIXED. Completely fixed. As I clutched my pearls, amazed by the sorcery that must've taken place, I asked if he could do me another favor out of the kindness of his heart. I showed him to another door that SCREAMS BLOODY MURDER every time it was opened AND closed. He pulled out a can of WD-40, well, that's what the label said, but it was clearly ENCHANTED AIR DUST he'd harvested from the Land of Possibilities. After a couple of sprays, he swung the door open and the door roared a SCREEEAAMMMM, he swung it closed, and it whispered screaamm, opened again, scrrr, closed, SILENCE. In 5 seconds, he slayed the screaming dragon that lived inside of that door. I don't want his secret to get out...but Ramon IS the magical locksmith. I can only imagine the enchanted dust is given to every locksmith at Quick Key.
