We had a older (50+ years) 5" front door deadbolt lock that had failed and needed it repaired or replaced. I contacted Ami at AD Garage Doors and Locks who came across to me as honest, well versed, and experienced. His technician Tom inspected the lock the next day and found that the mechanism had broken to open and close the deadbolt and had to be replaced. Because it was an older wood door and lock, Ami and Tom recommended replacing the original 5" Kwikset deadbolt with a 5" Schlage deadbolt latch that would fit the pre-drilled holes in the door. Tom was able to secure a large enough plate to cover the extra pre-drilled hole in the door and give us a functioning front door lock. AD Garage Doors and Locks completely met my expectations at a reasonable price and I highly recommend them in the Chicago area. read more

I reached out to have my locks rekeyed in my new home. I've never had to work with a locksmith so I did not know exactly what to expect but AD sent me a knowledgeable locksmith who came with everything he needed and was in and out within the hour. I left message on Yelp and the manager Deri responded promptly and said they charge a $29 inspection fee. I scheduled appointment for 4/27 between 8-10am. The tech called @ 8:18a and said he'll be at home in a hour. He arrived a few minutes after 10a but was apologetic. He inspected the lock and gave me 2 options: replace bottom lock and/or both top and bottom. It was only a 50 difference. Replace both for $179 instead of $129. 2 mismatched locks would look tacky. They had been installed since 2002. Tech took about 35-40 mins and was on point. He demonstrated the lock to make sure it worked to my liking. I will utilize them again. read more

Made an appointment online and met the guy at the house. He took one look at the lock and said its really old. parts are very expensive for these locks. why dont i put a new one on for $350. I told him i was a little disapointed that he wouldn't even look at it and see if it was an easy repair. he said he didnt want to repair it and have it break again and have me call him back out. so i wasted my day meeting with this guy. I then met with Bullis systems. their guy took the doorknob off and showed me where the square rod that connects the two knobs was worn down, he pulled one out of his bag and replaced it and it works as good as new. took him maybe 15 minutes. I broke a key inside of the lock to the entance of residential building-half of the key got stuck. Someone contacted me from AD Garage doors after my post on yelp. I was looking for someone to repair my garage door after a fire. I contacted AD Garage doors on 08/04/2021 at 9:36am. The rep sounded unsure & confused as to what he was doing which made me not confident in their abilities, but they eventually setup an appointment for the afternoon on the same day. No call, no show. The next day as I'm coming back home from running errands & to meet a different garage repair company at my home that had just called to let me know he was outside my garage... I get a call from the same rep at AD Garage Doors around 10:30am. He sounded half panicked, half frustrated & started off by trying to chastise me with a "Where are you at?!?!?
