The technician never showed up after I sent photos of the work and paid $200 for new locks. I received a message saying it wasn't worth it for him to come due to the job not being worth the time based on what the warranty company was paying him, even though he had accepted the job. I sympathize, but now I'm out of pocket for the cost of materials and a day's work, and I have to wait for the job to be reassigned. I find this unprofessional and it makes the tech unreliable. I called A-Paul's Lock Service after several bad experiences with other locksmiths. First high mark...Paul answered my phone call. Second high mark...we discussed the issue and I sent him photos of the lock to help in his preparation. Third high mark - he provided a clear quote. We scheduled his visit for 11am the next morning. Fourth high mark - he updated me of his timing and arrived about 10 minutes late. Once he arrived he assessed the lock we, discussed final plan and he got to work. When additional issues arose he advised what he could do and what additional cost would be. He confirmed my agreement to any additional cost. Fifth high mark - he provided a receipt before I asked. Paul is an excellent locksmith and business man. For comparison - previously I called several of the other locksmiths in the area, got an answering service and then a technician comes out for what I requested as a quote. One technician got upset and rude when I advised him that I was looking for a quote and walked off. Another technician came and clearly was here to make money today regardless of what I needed done. I need to have 5 keys changed, but originally I thought I only have 3 since one lock has a double key hole and I didn't thought about changing the key of my garage door. I started calling around this morning around 8:30. Paul told me that he can come in around 10-11 today or Monday; however, I don't want to take off work on Monday and have another appointment that I have to leave at 10:15 am today.
