I was referred to this company through my home warranty and had a very unprofessional experience. Corey scheduled an appointment with me, then later forgot the date he had originally set. When he called, instead of apologizing or taking responsibility, he became rude because I couldn't suddenly show up at a different time that worked for him. The phone interaction was disrespectful and poorly handled. As a business owner myself, I would never speak to a customer the way I was spoken to. Regardless of skill level, professionalism and basic respect matter. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this company. read more

I don't know who they sent out to unlock my vehicle but he showed up yelling in his phone in a foreign language never once acknowledged me. ignored my questions and set about unlocking the lock. then only addressing me after he couldn't pick the lock. $285. he cut me a key and it doesn't work right. when you put it in the lock it doesn't turn to unlock lock. you have to pull the key out a touch till you feel the first click. then it turns the lock to open. from the time he arrived til he left he addressed me once. for payment. not a way to conduct business I don't need to be best friends but when one asks a question, one needs an answer! second rate service is being too nice to this guy!! read more

Absolutely do not recommend please visit another store. I purchased 3 exterior locks and was recommend a brand that is garbage. The lock froze on 40 degree weather and I was just informed they have no return policy. Website or store does not tell customers that all sales are final. Manager confirmed that the policy is not stated on line and even then they were not willing to accept a return. They offered to charge me $80 for a technician to come and unfreeze the lock. Now I am stuck with 3 defective locks that I just purchased last week and paid $300 for them. Do NOT recommend. read more

They went out to address my apartment panel because there was a constant buzz. He replaced the speaker and amplifier. A couple days later, the same constant buzzing, which means the door is unlocked. Sent someone else out, and they charged me again, for the same issue not being resolved. They then decided to quote me 2k for a new panel and say, that "should" fix it. So I paid almost $400 for them not to resolve the buzzing. They sent someone else and charged the same thing to not resolve the issue. I asked to speak to an owner, but no luck. They keep telling me the service guy will call me back. Then they send me a quote for new panel but not sure if that's the issue. I would NOT recommend them. read more

very upsetting. They sold us a system using outdated technology that only works with one neighbors land line (not my cell phone). After numerous hours between AT&T and my cell service and their office, we are stuck with inferior product that only works for one of the three units in our building. read more

I had an issue with an intercom system that was not working for entire multifamily building which another low voltage tech was unable to resolve. Today I had the pleasure of working with Nick who communicated extremely well throughout the entire process. He was able to get the entire system working again even after he discovered a few things that required a work around. Nick was pleasant, knowledgeable, and I felt his service was a great value when he totaled up the bill. As a property manager it is rare to find such great service and workmanship so don't hesitate to give Non Stop Locksmith a call. Thanks Nick! read more

Very professional. I always get copies of keys made here. Unlike my experiences at the big box stores, they always get the cut right the first time. It costs a little more but it's worth it! read more

I had a new lock put in about five months ago, at a cost of over $400. The lock is already not working. I called for a repair and this company charges full price for coming out, and additional for any cost of repair. I think a lock should last more than five months and I am very upset that this company does not stand behind its work. So I would not recommend this company at all. read more

They cancelled our installation appointment twice because they say its too cold. Its January, its 26° and we are in Illinois. Seems like normal weather to me! 1 star is only because I couldnt post without adding it read more

They are good at what they do but overpriced!! The entry system stopped working and it only needed to be reset. It cost over 200.00 dollars! The tech told me their prices before he started but I thought the 69.00 service call was all we would be paying. The minimum was an hour, it took a total of 3 minutes. The tech was very nice, it was my fault for not understanding clearly. He did instruct me on how to do the reset myself so that was good. Their work is great, the techs are nice, but.... definitely overpriced!! read more

Called to have a new key programmed to a replacement ignition switch. Technician switched reasons a couple times as to why he couldn't fix it and demanded a fee for the "service." In the process of discussing how to fix the issue, he was disrespectful and insulting in my attempt to get the repair completed. A complete waste of time and a rip off. read more

Luis and Edwardo at non-stop are second to none. They have helped me out when my house was robbed and with a recent move out of a terrible tenant in my rental. My husband and I locked ourselves out by accident while walking the dog one night. After calling several places that were all closed already, we found Nonstop. Within 15 minutes of calling, a tech was at our building and got us back in to our apartment and checked out in less than 10 minutes. I am for sure keeping their number on hand in case this happens again, and if you accidentally lock yourself out, definitely give this company a call asap. read more

I originally contacted this company because I was desperately trying to figure out how our condo board would get access to make Mul-T-Lock keys. The prior board had passed them out, and the new board had no idea where the key code was to copy more once a tenant lost both of her keys. After contacting at least 20 to 30 different locksmiths, plus Mul-T-Lock headquarters explaining our hands were tied (and finding out later that one locksmith who claimed they didn't copy our keys really WAS the company that did), Nonstop Locksmith was the only one that would allow me to prove that we were legit. With paperwork in hand to confirm we were legitimate board members, they were able to copy our key and also contacted the headquarters, too. (Shortly after, our incompetent and terminated property management company said they "didn't know what that box was for with the code on it" but never bothered to mail it to us or even tell us they still had it. So we finally did get the box after I had to track down that property manager plus the one before that.) Alexander was the locksmith I worked with, and he was EXTREMELY professional, helpful and funny, too. When I found out that they fixed doorbells and their rates were decent, I contacted them again. The one in my building had terrible audio, and other owners had doorbells that didn't work either. I was elated to do business with them. While I could go through all the details of them having to visit five different times due to rewiring, two condo owners who refused to stay home (or answer their door), weather damage in two bells and station replacements, what I will say is I grew extremely frustrated. But through it all, with one technician (Manuel), one manager (David) and one field manager (Rodney), we were finally able to get two of three doorbells in operable condition. The last one still has wiring issues, but that has zip zero to do with Nonstop Locksmith and everything to do with residents refusing to let them in to replace the wires. Rodney especially was patient, professional and did try to explain what the problems were. Although I did leave with more questions than answers with Manuel and David during the first few visits, physically standing there and watching Rodney work and listening to them cleared up a lot of confusion versus a summary at the end of hours of work. In all fairness, David did give me a chart to show his progress. Still, I'm a big fan of not hounding contractors while they work, but I finally did realize that wasn't going to work in this case and decided to stay put and just quietly observe. Shimon, the owner, stepped up to try to get all of our doorbell problems resolved, too, and called three times, too. While I certainly wish we could've been a one-and-done, in an older building with wiring issues that happened long before I moved in, this turned out to be a much bigger job than I expected. But I am relieved that it is (mostly) done and totally done to the best of their capabilities. Thank you! read more

We are a large apartment complex with a complicated intercom system. We had Nonstop out and they resolved the issue very quickly and accurately. These guys are organized, responsible, and prompt. Got a next day appointment with a two hour window and Ian the Rep called me in the middle of the window to let me know he'd be there in 30 minutes. Troubleshooted our intercom/buzzer problems promptly and fixed them all cleanly and quickly. Update 3/25/2020: had these guys out again for some lock changes. Professional and easy to work with. Super easy to schedule (I did it via email this time). Many thanks! read more

I'd like to give a positive review, but my experience has made that impossible. I ordered a door handle in July 2018. Several months later, I got a call saying it was in and I went to pick it up, but it was the wrong one so they reordered it. Several months after that, they called again saying it was in. I went to pick it up, but again it was the wrong one, so they reordered it again. After hearing nothing from them, in February and March 2019, I sent six emails asking for a status update. They responded one time telling me that they would call within a few days. I have yet to receive a single call. I've since sent several more emails asking for a status update and I haven't received any responses. It's now been nearly a year since I ordered the door handle. How hard can this possibly be? Update: I've called and emailed several more times for a status update for this order that it now literally one year overdue, and they still have not responded. At all. read more

We looked for a company to install a new intercom and camera system in our Bulding. We initially chose a different company which was the lowest bid. This company disappeared in the middle of the project leaving us with no intercom / cameras for a week. We called non stop and they came the following day and by the end of the week we were all set. Yes nonstop were priced much higher but after dealing with the lowest bid and comparing I was happy with the results and felt very comfortable with price compare to quality. Thank you nonstop for saving our building. Money well spent!!!! read more

They did good work and completed it in a timely manner, however they both upsold and up-charged my uninformed tenant. What could have been a possible fix, basic entry knob and deadbolt replacement ended up with replacing all locking hardware with a high end smart lock (which was also marked up an extra $150 from Amazon), security skid plate, credit card processing fee, etc. totalling close to $800!! Unfortunately the job was done without approval (which is not their fault). Shop around, double check and get some comparative quotes to be safe. read more

Got a second key for my car made here in-and-out in 20 minutes. The key is aftermarket (a real key would've been close to the dealers price) and I do have some annoying issues with it, like having to click multiple times most of the time and my car not always recognizing it when I go to open the door with the key in my pocket (keyless). I might be selling my car soon so I'm unsure if I'll be asking my credit card about an extended warranty for it because they only give a two-week guarantee and I got it fixed before a trip. I wish I just went to the dealer and paid $100 more on a fully functional key. read more

Sorry but this company doesn't care if you do business with them. I've attempted to do business with them a few times and they don't follow through on their commitments. Closed on a home 10/26/17 and scheduled an appointment with Non-Stop Locksmith to change all locks and get an estimate on an Intercom system for November 2nd (before I moved in). 1st appointment - no show. So customer service gave me a new appointment for today, November 14th (4 days after I moved in...mind you I'm using the sellers locks/keys). 2nd appointment - technician was suppose to arrive for 3-5pm appt. I called Non-Stop at 2pm to confirm. Customer Service said "he is finishing a job now and will head to your residence". It's now 4:49pm and no technician. I called "Customer Service" (blank stare) again - where is the technician?? "I'm sorry ma'am, he's running late, would you like to reschedule?" ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW?! No, I do not want to reschedule for a 3rd time!!!! Plus I've been sitting here waiting since 2pm! Plus, I just found out a neighbor has a set of keys to my house!!!!!! YOU SUCK!! read more

I needed to install a new lock in one of my apartment buildings. The previous lock had been installed incorrectly (by another locksmith); the bracket was set in too deep and it was not engaging with the lock. Unfortunately the lock also had to be replaced as the tenants had damaged it over the years when trying to lock it. The locksmith (Bill) spent a great deal of time installing a new bracket using a shim and extra long screws to be sure it would hold in place. I was very impressed with how conscientious he was. He also re-keyed another lock that was not turning correctly. I've used Nonstop for many years for both of my apartment buildings and they are a good outfit. The locksmiths are knowledgeable and they stand behind their work. read more

I bought a new Nest Smartlock to replace my deadbolt, but the existing hole was too small to fit the Nest lock. So I called Nonstop locksmith because they had done some work for me before and did a really good job. As expected, they did a fantastic job. Showed up early; technician was very professional and worked quickly and efficiently to complete the task. He used a hole saw to widen the existing hole so the new lock would fit. Then he installed the lock and made sure it worked (they don't actually program the smartlock, just install it and you have to program it yourself so you can set your own private passcodes, etc.). Before he left, the tech cleaned up after himself, taught me the basics of the lock, and left some general tips on battery replacement. I cannot say enough good things about this firm. And they accept credit card payments which is a big advantage (note a 3% service fee added on). read more

I will keep a longer story short. We had all of our locks changed to a single key system when we bought our new house. The work was done well except for our back door (Anderson like the window company). The Locksmith said he had to do some tricky filing to make the new system work. Frankly it was always a little off, but it locked and we had other things happening in our lives that took president. Finally 2 months ago it stopped working. Here is where it get's complicated. The Anderson part that was filed down by the Locksmith has to be repaired by an Anderson approved rep. We have spent 2 months without a back door between waiting for appointments and replacement parts. So already we are not pleased with Non-Stop. I called to make an appointment so the Anderson and Non-Stop guys could be here together and actually "FIX" our door. No dice. Way too booked. It's Thursday and they cannot come till Tuesday. Unfortunately we leave for a vacation on Tuesday. I can cancel the Anderson guy and continue to not have a back door. I can let the Anderson guy come and risk him not being able to install a lock OR I can call another locksmith. Hmmmmm. So thanks Non-Stop, first for not really doing the job correctly to begin with. Also for not listening that I had an emergency here of your creation. But most of all for not letting one of your Locksmiths come to our house for 20 minutes to fix your mess. Fine you are very busy and super important. Too busy or not really wanting to get involved with fixing your own mess? Guess we will never know. By the way it was only an install of a tumbler with the Anderson guy here to supply all parts. Not even any filing this time. Here is a big fat star which you very richly deserve. read more

Recently, my keys decided they just didn't want to work in my deadbolt lock anymore. I would spend 15-20 minutes toying with them every time I tried to lock/unlock my door, which was getting so annoying and making me consistently late/frustrated. After a week of this nonsense (no judging), I decided it was time to call a locksmith - I found Non-Stop through Yelp. The woman who answered my phone call to schedule the service was very courteous and professional. She informed me up front that there would be an additional labor charge to have the locksmith come on a Sunday, and also when I asked about costs for what I thought would be "worst-case scenario" (e.g. needing an entirely new deadbolt), she was able to quote those for me promptly. Another thing I really appreciated was the time window - it was only 2 hours. I hate when there is a 4-5+ hour time window for a service company, as you waste your day waiting and inevitably they show up 30 minutes after it's expired (cough COMCAST cough cough). On Sunday, right at the beginning of my window, I get a phone call from Frank, who is ready to come fix my lock. He was very perky, friendly and professional. Frank took a look at the problem and said he could repair it in a jiffy - and he certainly did. 15 minutes later he hands me my key and tells me to test it, and miracle of miracles, the key works perfectly again!! He wrote out my invoice, took my CC#, and I was promptly emailed a receipt for the service. Thank you to Non-Stop Locksmith and Frank! read more

Who you gonna call when your ex that you just kicked out still has a set of keys to your place? Non-Stop Locksmith, of course. I was googling "chicago locksmiths" and all sorts of weird google ads and sponsored listings popped up. I just wanted the best of the best so I flashed over to Yelp and saw 90+ reviews, all 5-stars, for this company and called them at 11pm on the day of the break-up. They sent someone in under 30 minutes to my place. It was faster than anything I've ever ordered from GrubHub, if that puts it into perspective. Shimon Mery showed up to service my locks. He was AWESOME. He kind of sensed why I was replacing my locks and tried to cheer me up by telling jokes and making funny comments. He knew exactly what needed to be done with my locks, how old they were, etc. Shimon did what he needed to do, gave me 3 sets of keys, was super awesome about the pricing, and gave me his card so I could call him personally if I ever needed anything (which I did, because I locked myself out the very next day...). Shimon mentioned they also do locks at important buildings like the Hancock Center...so, obviously they are good at what they do and trust-worthy. It's not a fun thing, having to change your locks, but they definitely exceeded my expectations and I'm so glad I found them. 110% referral -- ask for Shimon. read more

These guys specialize in exceptional customer service. I needed a duplicate key and found them via Yelp, and based upon what I read I assumed I could just show up and get a key made. Umm...no, this isn't Ace Hardware. They're MOBILE. You call, they show up, make your key. Nevertheless, when I was outside their building and couldn't figure out how to get in, I called, Shimon happened to be there, and after explaining they don't take customers at their Diversey location, he went and made my key anyway. And he was really nice! And did I mention he's good-looking? Peeps, if you're locked out or need a duplicate key, call Non-Stop Locksmith! You won't be disappointed! read more
