I will keep a longer story short. We had all of our locks changed to a single key system when we bought our new house. The work was done well except for our back door (Anderson like the window company). The Locksmith said he had to do some tricky filing to make the new system work. Frankly it was always a little off, but it locked and we had other things happening in our lives that took president. Finally 2 months ago it stopped working. Here is where it get's complicated. The Anderson part that was filed down by the Locksmith has to be repaired by an Anderson approved rep. We have spent 2 months without a back door between waiting for appointments and replacement parts. So already we are not pleased with Non-Stop. I called to make an appointment so the Anderson and Non-Stop guys could be here together and actually "FIX" our door. No dice. Way too booked. It's Thursday and they cannot come till Tuesday. Unfortunately we leave for a vacation on Tuesday. I can cancel the Anderson guy and continue to not have a back door. I can let the Anderson guy come and risk him not being able to install a lock OR I can call another locksmith. Hmmmmm. So thanks Non-Stop, first for not really doing the job correctly to begin with. Also for not listening that I had an emergency here of your creation. But most of all for not letting one of your Locksmiths come to our house for 20 minutes to fix your mess. Fine you are very busy and super important. Too busy or not really wanting to get involved with fixing your own mess? Guess we will never know. Recently, my keys decided they just didn't want to work in my deadbolt lock anymore. I would spend 15-20 minutes toying with them every time I tried to lock/unlock my door, which was getting so annoying and making me consistently late/frustrated. After a week of this nonsense (no judging), I decided it was time to call a locksmith - I found Non-Stop through Yelp. The woman who answered my phone call to schedule the service was very courteous and professional. She informed me up front that there would be an additional labor charge to have the locksmith come on a Sunday, and also when I asked about costs for what I thought would be "worst-case scenario" (e.g. needing an entirely new deadbolt), she was able to quote those for me promptly. Another thing I really appreciated was the time window - it was only 2 hours. I hate when there is a 4-5+ hour time window for a service company, as you waste your day waiting and inevitably they show up 30 minutes after it's expired (cough COMCAST cough cough). On Sunday, right at the beginning of my window, I get a phone call from Frank, who is ready to come fix my lock. He was very perky, friendly and professional. Frank took a look at the problem and said he could repair it in a jiffy - and he certainly did. 15 minutes later he hands me my key and tells me to test it, and miracle of miracles, the key works perfectly again!! I was googling "chicago locksmiths" and all sorts of weird google ads and sponsored listings popped up. I just wanted the best of the best so I flashed over to Yelp and saw 90+ reviews, all 5-stars, for this company and called them at 11pm on the day of the break-up. They sent someone in under 30 minutes to my place. It was faster than anything I've ever ordered from GrubHub, if that puts it into perspective. Shimon Mery showed up to service my locks. He was AWESOME. He kind of sensed why I was replacing my locks and tried to cheer me up by telling jokes and making funny comments. He knew exactly what needed to be done with my locks, how old they were, etc. Shimon did what he needed to do, gave me 3 sets of keys, was super awesome about the pricing, and gave me his card so I could call him personally if I ever needed anything (which I did, because I locked myself out the very next day...). Shimon mentioned they also do locks at important buildings like the Hancock Center...so, obviously they are good at what they do and trust-worthy. These guys specialize in exceptional customer service. I needed a duplicate key and found them via Yelp, and based upon what I read I assumed I could just show up and get a key made. Umm...no, this isn't Ace Hardware. They're MOBILE. You call, they show up, make your key. Nevertheless, when I was outside their building and couldn't figure out how to get in, I called, Shimon happened to be there, and after explaining they don't take customers at their Diversey location, he went and made my key anyway. Thank you Robert for the incredible service! After crying for hours because I had lost my last car key, I called Non Stop Locksmith to help me make a new one. They showed up on time at the parking garage my car was stuck in. Robert pulled up right next to my car and immediately went to work. He knew exactly what to do and did everything with out stopping to think. Within 45min, he had unlocked my car, removed my trunk lock, made new keys and programmed the chips. I was driving out of there within the hour!! I still can't believe how easy it was. The best part was the cost. A locksmith is one of those services that you hope you never need again, but if I do, I know who I'm calling. After a long series of snafus, where I misplaced the keys to my apartment, left the back door unlocked so I could get back in, and then had the back door jam/catch on the latch so I couldn't get the door open, a landlord who was out of the country, and neighbors who weren't home, I gave up and searched on Yelp for a locksmith. Shimon answered the phone promptly and within 20 minutes, was at my apartment with his tools. He wasn't able to pick the lock to the front door -- in fact, he said it was actually a very secure door! -- but when we got to the back door, he pulled out a drill and took apart the stuck latch so I could get in. He was kind, professional, and funny, and made me feel a lot better about having to call a locksmith in the first place. Did I feel pretty dumb for having to pay $75 to have someone just unscrew an old, bent latch? Yep, but it's not like I carry a power drill around in my purse. (Maybe I should.) I feel terrible, I have been meaning to write this review for a few weeks. I am sorry Non-Stop... if you worked at my speed you would have 1-star. Tim and Alex both helped me at this location. I made a call mid day, later that afternoon NS was out at my place changing locks and helping me out. I had a special deadbolt (I didn't know this when they came) but somehow they had all of the tooling and internal pieces to give me new keying that second. They were clean, quiet, and professional. The price was perfect. I later went to the store to get keys cut. I learned how the machine worked, how it was better than your standard Home Depot one... and the keys came out PERFECT. NO issues. These guys are good. I called at like 1 a.m. and the locksmith arrived pretty soon afterwards. I was back in my apartment in no time. Yes, it's expensive and a the whole situation was a pain in the ass, but that's always how it is when you get locked out and need to call a locksmith - it's happened to me before. Also, in my experiences, I've been tempted to think I'm getting ripped off because it's usually very easy for them to pick the lock or gain access to whatever it is I'm locked out of, but you have to remember that they do this all the time and they provide a valuable and necessary service. It's not their fault you got locked out. The lesson I've learned is to always have a back-up key somewhere. My husband and I closed on our first single family home at 4pm on Wednesday. On our way over to our new house, we made a call to Nonstop Locksmith to see when we would be able to schedule an appointment to change all of the locks. To our surprise, he said he could meet us there in 15 minutes! I never expected service like that! When they say 24/7 service, they truly mean it. Shai Magen showed up promptly 15 minutes later, was very polite and knowledgeable. We showed him what we wanted to change, and he gave us a solution that allowed us to have one key for our garage and outside gate, and one key for the four locks for the house (instead of actually carrying 6 keys, thank goodness!). He let us know which locks needed replacing completely, and which just needed to be rekeyed (which saved us a lot of money). He was extremely efficient, and an hour later he handed us 4 sets of keys to our house. The new locks (not the rekeyed ones, but the actual locks) come with a one year warranty in case we had any issues. He even took our first "family" photo in front of the house - so dorky of me to ask, but I really appreciate working with nice people who don't mind! We also got a great deal from him by mentioning we found him on yelp, and he didn't charge us tax which is a 10% savings! I was just looking for a locksmith, and realized I never wrote my experience with this place. FYI:This review is solely based on keys. So I pass this place all the time cause I work around the corner, they boast with a big plastic sign outside that they make keys that work. So trusting their confidence I go get my difficult RU4 key, only ppl who made it correct before was menards. It's just for my door lock, but a machine like minute key won't make it. Anyway, I walk in they have serveillance on you, which is creepy. I got my key made, for a friend who was coming to stay. The key DID NOT work. I returned it, got my money back, they never apologized. Now everytime I see that stupid sign, I laugh. At the very least, a locksmith should be able to make a key, geez! read more

Nothing starts your Sunday morning off like realizing your keys are in your locked car. I called a couple of places up and was super annoyed to hear they charge $15 for a visit and then charge "$35 and up" for service. I kept prompting a woman to give me an estimate and finally she admitted that $35 opened up a "simple box, like a file cabinet". Are you joking me? I have a car, not a file cabinet. This is how they get you - they end up coming out and all of a sudden, your $35 estimate is now $140. No thanks. I gave them a call and a man answered - he told me straight off the bat that it'd be approximately $100. They charged $45 for a visit, but the service fees would be lower. He also encouraged me to call my insurance agent to see if they'd cover the fees. I appreciated the tip. I decided to go with Non-Stop Locksmith and thirty minutes later, a legit looking SUV pulled up and a friendly man popped my lock. It only took about 5 minutes and was pain-free. When he asked how I heard about them, I mentioned Yelp and they gave me a discount- love it! All in all, it cost $100 after the discount. Oh. My. God. Happy Independence Day, y'all! Non-Stop Locksmith just completely saved our holiday. Moments ago, Shai left after unlocking our apartment porch door. Here's how it went: We went out for a morning smoke on our back porch. Neither me, nor my boyfriend remembered to unlock the lock on the doorknob and then... SLAM, we close the door. I was extremely disappointed after dealing with these guys. I needed a lock replaced and called them. It started off well. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone said he knew my building/lock-type/etc., and that I probably just needed the cylinder replaced and he could do so cheaper than replacing the whole lock. He told me he would call me right back to see if he had the necessary cylinder for the door. I never received a call. I called them back and asked to speak with that guy again (like a fool I didn't write down his name), to follow up, and no one had any idea what I was talking about. So I asked what it would cost to get a new lock for my door. They wanted $45 to just come out. Absurd. That might be industry standard, I don't know, but if you can't quote me a price on a lock/service and want to charge me $45 just to look at the door... no. Just no. Disappointing considering all the glowing reviews on here. I'll find someone else who returns calls and won't charge me $45 whether they replace the lock or not. Update: They called me back again after I said I was going to shop around for a better price and then started speaking to me very condescendingly when I explained that I had contacted them originally because one of their employees was going to replace a cylinder and not a whole lock and wouldn't charge me $45 to come out there. read more

I spoke with a representative on Thursday, March 29th regarding some keys we needed them to make. We had 2 filing cabinets with locks but no keys. I explained that there was urgency in the matter b/c the cabinets contained sensitive material. I explained the locks to the rep and he said "No Problem". They would be able to make me the keys and get them out in the mail immediately. He requested an email with additional information, which we sent first thing the following morning (Friday, March 30th). The following Tuesday, April 3rd, I had not heard anything back regarding our email request, so I called in to check the order of the status. The rep's response was - "Oh, nobody called you?" No, nobody had called us to inform us that there was additional information needed from us and that we had failed to attach photos of the locks to our email request. OK, our bad, but still, they sat on the email for 5 days and did not follow up to get this additional information from us. Again, the rep assured us they would get the keys made and out in the mail that day. After providing the missing photos and additional infomation, the afternoon followed with multiple calls from their rep, Chuck, stating one issue after another. The end result? - Codes did not exist for our cabinets. He stated clearly and matter-of-factly that it was impossible to make keys for those cabinets and that no locksmith would be able to do it. And he left it at that. No alternative solution, nothing. He didn't even offer a re-key service. So I hung up and immediately contacted another locksmith. The new locksmith was able to make me 2 keys per cabinet, that worked just fine, and got the order to me by next business day. And they were a few $$ cheaper than Non-Stop. Another irritating piece? While I was on the phone with the new locksmith and completing our order, Non-Stop called me 2-3 times without leaving a voicemail. Not sure what they wanted. Maybe they realized their failure in offering an alternative solution and opportunity to make more $$ on the order with an offer to re-key the cabinets. The 1 Pro of Non-Stop: Chuck is a very polite and professional individual. And that is truly the only positive thing I can take from my experience with Non-Stop Locksmith. read more

We had the keys to our condo stolen and the condo association forgot to change all of the locks, so I called Non-Stop Locksmith. Simon came to my home on a Sunday afternoon and rekeyed all of our locks. His service was fantastic, quick, and professional. The giant rainstorm over the weekend reminded me that we had forgotten to rekey the locks to our storage space in the basement.
