Taiwan was super friendly! Arrived on-time when I locked myself out after I lost my keys. The initial key-making process was quick, but Taiwan ran into troubles with what was suspected to be some microchip issues with my model. Despite the extra work, Taiwan worked tirelessly to contact Honda as well as Geico, making sure my problem was solved all in the same night. He was super friendly the whole time and was obviously very willing to help me with whatever needs I had! He even scraped off the wax from the towing company that I've had on my car for months. This company is not good with keeping appointments, I have made an effort to give them business on several occasions because they were in the area and past experiences have been good. When you call for service and they actually do come out the workers are friendly, but you're stuck waiting around all day for them. I have scheduled appointments weeks in advance for large projects and to get quotes on repairs and they never showed up. On the last two attempts to use them, I got a call days later from a 678 area code asking if they can come now. I let the guy know I waited the other day and no one showed up and he responds they were on another job. That's fine, but a courtesy call would have been appreciated. He agrees to come the next day, once again no-show and no call. I've come to realize that they are not interested in large commercial jobs and giving quotes, they are only interested in small key copying jobs and jobs that payout on the same day. read more

We contacted Keyway to have several locks re-keyed and were told that a locksmith would arrive between the hours of 2 and 4 pm. We waited until 3 pm and then called Keyway for an update. We were told that the locksmith would not be able to keep the appointment and that one would come the following day at 10 am. Hmm. The following morning, we called at 9 am to confirm the appointment and were told that a locksmith was on the way. The locksmith finally arrived around 11 am. While we were not particularly impressed by Keyway's handling of the scheduled service windows, the locksmith who came to our residence was skilled, experienced, and thorough. All of the new keys worked well and the locksmith was very methodical in his craft. He took the time to make sure that all the parts worked smoothly and functioned well. In fact, our locks work better than they did prior to his work. I would recommend Keyway to anyone who needed a locksmith's services and would be ok with having the appointment rescheduled on short notice. The latter condition is a serious caveat, of course, but Keyway's technician was easily the most skilled of all the locksmiths I've seen. read more

Never again will I do business with this company. I contacted Keyway Lock & Security to replace 4 cylinder locks with new ones. I was given the option to pay a lower price if I wanted them to be re-keyed or to pay more to have all new cylinders. I requested and paid for new cylinders. The tech who came out replaced my new door knob with one that doesn't work and only installed one new cylinder; the other 3 were rekeyed. I called the company on numerous occasions and visited the business regarding my defective doorknob and cylinders and each time I was told someone would be out within the hour. It's been 2 weeks and I'm still waiting. The last time I called my call was disconnected and when I called back I was placed on hold and no one returned to the line in the 20 plus minutes I waited. read more

I called earlier today to find out how much it would be to get a spare key for my car. It was supposed to be $85. my dad and I get there around 2:45 for something that was estimated to take 10-15 minutes. when we went in we reiterated exactly what we wanted.. and there wasn't a price change discussed. whoever was working took about double the amount of time to get it done. when it came time to pay and when we heard that the price went up by $100 we were confused. obviously my dad questioned it, but the employee went into a rage and I'm not even exaggerating. he started cussing and raising his voice, he said "you lack communication skills" to my father, and also "by the way different cars have different keys", in a disrespectful tone. he started becoming aggressive by slamming things on the counter, huffing and puffing, while we remained quiet. I understand if the employee misunderstood what we wanted but if something was requested over the phone and then change, why not let us know before doing the work? My father tried asking if he could do anything to not have to pay $185 but the employee wasn't even willing to listen. I had to drive an hour away to work from there so we didn't have time to completely restart it. The worker didn't give many options but he was whining saying "this isn't even my store". So I'm assuming this isn't the location/ owners fault. his disgusting behavior was uncalled for and it was insulting. He said hed pay the other 75 after confirming my fathers first and last name? why would it even be coming out of his pocket. there's so many ways that this situation could have been resolved, but instead it remained unprofessional. whoever worked with us needs Jesus or something idk. read more

My boyfriend lost his car key (I still don't know how) right before he had to drive his coworkers to a weekend retreat. He had to work, so I got the chore of fixing the problem. I called Keyway at 10:30 AM, and they were at my house by 2pm, right in the middle of the window they gave me. (If you've ever tried to deal with the very loosely defined "service windows" provided by cable companies, you can appreciate how nice it is for the worker to actually show up on time.) The employee on the phone was very helpful--he worked with me to authorize the work unconventionally, letting my boyfriend email in his ID and info instead of simply turning me away when he found out I didn't have access to his driver's license. The work was fast and competent. He cut a new key that worked perfectly, charged me the price I was originally quoted, and even gave me the cut numbers so I could easily get a copy made at a locksmith in the future. All in all, Keyway turned a very irritating, stressful day into a problem solved. If I ever have another emergency--KNOCK ON WOOD--I'll be back. read more

I called their emergency service on a Sunday to see if they could replace my lost car key. Their answering service called, and they said that they could not get in touch with a technician. She said she'd have one call back. I called them later in the day to see if anyone was available. The call service again said that they couldn't get in touch with a technician, and she could not guarantee that they'd back to me that day. I called again on a Monday, and I got through to the business. They said that no on was there the day before. Then, they said that they could not make a key for my '97 Saturn, even though their website says that they replace keys for "old" Saturns, and they have a picture of a Saturn on their website that is older than mine. I was disappointed with paying over $6.00 for a mail box key duplicate especially after they told me over the phone that they charge $4.50 for a mailbox keys duplicate. I received a price over the phone for programming an auto transponder, with remote (fobic) that I already owned.. When I arrived to have the fobic programmed I was told that the quoted price was too low, that real price would be higher! But, to make up for it they would sell me a new, ignition transponder key (without remote), and agree to program my fobic without charge when a special machine arrived. I paid for the transponder and received a receipt indicating the agreement. They then stalled for 5 months, even getting to the point of telling me that they were currently in class training on use of the new machine. Then turned out that they didn't get the machine after all. The owner said he would sell me a new remote for $30 (split the cost, so that I didn't have a "bad taste" from dealing with them) and made appointment for following week because he needed to order the transponder. I called the morning of the appointment, before coming in, and was told that they would only sell me a new remote for $99, and would not honor the offer to complete the transaction for $30. This company is a model for bait and switch business tactics. I wouldn't trust anything they say. 9/12/12 Seems that more detail in the original review would have been helpful. There was no question that the fobic was from another vehicle and needed to have its programming cleared before it could be programmed to my vehicle. This was part of the discussion, on two different occasions, when i spoke with an employee at Keyway, as well as with Steve, the owner. Both times they quoted a price of $99, explaining that I would need to bring the fobic in so that they could send it off to have the programming cleared, which would take about a week, then come back to have it programmed to my vehicle. It was at the first visit, to drop off the fobic, that the employee decided that $99 wasn't enough money. After the 5 months of the code clearing machine not arriving, Steve, the owner, made me the offer to sell me a new fobic,for $30 ("splitting the cost") and made an appointment with me to come in a week later to pick it up (he said that they had to order it) and have it programmed. It was the morning of the appointment that I called and the employee once again told me that the owner quoted price was too low and wouldn't honor it. When I asked to speak to the "owner" he laughed and handed the phone over. Steve, the owner, told me that he wouldn't do what he had agreed to the week before. Made me wonder who really runs the business. btw: 2 dodge dealers quoted me $250 for new a fobic with programming, $100 less than the $350 stated by Steve. read more
