My boyfriend and I are poke fans so it was natural we should come to this place, especially the location being so close to his place. For starters, it's a pretty big location with plenty of seating. We came on a Monday around 2pm. No line. We each ordered a regular sized bowl with brown rice. Small comes with 2 scoops of fish, regular comes with 3, and large comes with 4. You can choose from white rice, brown rice, chips, or salad for the base. 8 types of different fish available. It's Subway style where you tell them which toppings you want for a standard price. Menu says avocado is an extra $1, but I don't think they're charging for it yet. We both added avocado but no one mentioned the extra $1 and it wasn't added to our bill. Free avocado is never a bad thing. I tried the original poki sauce with onion garlic sauce and it was more than satisfactory. Cons: They add the sauce over the bowl after everything is in there instead of mixing the fish and sauce together and then placing it in. Compared to Low Key Poke in Garden Grove, they had less toppings available (wishing they had fried garlic here). Compared to North Shore, you definitely get a lot more choice in your bowl. This is my favorite poki place ever. It's right next to the gym & it's great especially after teaching back-to-back classes. The fish is always fresh. The toppings are also fresh. They always keep the avocado looking green and NOT brown! They're also very nice here. Also, a big plus, they don't put sauces on their fish. I'm all for supporting new business, especially Poki places that appear to be popping up everywhere. I have tried PokiDoki three times, and I think I made my decision, its just OK. I like that their portions seem to be a bit bigger than other places. But, the staff here is not friendly. The first time was great it was their opening week so all hands on deck it appeared. But the last two visits feels like I was intruding on their day, like they had to work now because I showed up. The fish was decent quality. But I had bad albacore once there, it just smelled too fishy. So I stick with tuna and spicy tuna usually to keep it safe. I don't like how the sauce is drizzled on top, I like my fish mixed in well with the sauce before its on a bed of rice, but that's just my opinion. They have started selling mochi ice cream though but I didn't get a chance to try it. Also, they now have stamp cards if you're a frequent customer of this place. A lot of seating inside and outside. Pretty solid poke place. It's close to my work so it's someplace I visit weekly and I have to say the staff here is on point. Always super friendly, they seem happy to be working there, I've gone right before closing and they still have an amazing attitude and act like it's no big deal when I apologize for being 'that person' showing up 10 mins before closing. I ordered a medium bowl with combo #2 which came with a spam musubi and a fountain drink. The spam musubi ratio of rice and spam was BAD, it had WAYYY too much rice. I keep coming back because its convenient, but yesterday was the last straw. Their food is mediocre at best, but they charge you quick a bit for small portions and frozen ingredients. Speaking of pricing... I bought a regular bowl which comes with 3 types of fishes and all the regular things you get in a poke bowl. Rafael made my bowl. 4 of us came in together after a long day. It started off ok. They made our bowls one at a time and as everything is laid out in front of you it's hard to mess that up. Then you see how inexperienced Rafael and the other employee are. They decided to put all our bowls together even though Rafael asked one of my friends as he rung them up if it was separate or together and they said separate. They then decided to put my bowl with her tray and ring up the next order. We all did the yelp check in for the free miso which was horrible. Super salty and just taste awful btw. And so my next friends paid for 2 bowls together and went to sit down. Finally as I get to register to pay there's no bowl, but o figured Rafael made my bowl so it shouldn't be a big deal. I made my regular bowl a combo for 3.50 more with the original 10.50 (rounded the amount) which equals $14 plus tax. Rafael tells me my total is $17+ dollars and I'm like how am I getting charge over $3 in tax? He then ask me to repeat my order which I then again say regular bowl made into a combo with drink and spam musubi, and free check in for miso. Which again is $14 plus tax. He then yells at me saying i told him I say large bowl. At this point I'm annoyed as one he made my bowl, two no one in our group got a large, and three he's arguing with me and was yelling at me. He then rolls his eyes at me and says well this is what the computer says you have to pay. He repunches in my order and now my total is $16.33 which is $2.33 in taxes which still makes no sense but by then I was over it. He angrily gives me a receipt.but all it is is the CC transaction receipt. There's no itemized receipt at all. I finally join my friends and we all eat the poorly made food and decided that we won't be coming back. So overall here's simple recap: When we got there there was 2 people that had ordered before us and left. There's no one their but employees and us at after we sat to only 1 other person came in to actually buy a bowl. So they weren't busy for Rafael to give me shitty attitude. They don't itemize their receipts so you don't actually know what they are charging for so its very shady. Employees are not experienced and the quality of their work and service is poor. I'm fine with inexperience but you can have a bad attitude and treat customers like trash. Food is mediocre and pricing is way more than its worth. So save yourself trouble and give the place a pass until they clean up their service and quality of food. read more

This use to be one of my go to poke spots, until more poke restaurants started to show up in the area and PokiDoki didn't start to adapt to the competition. It seems to me I'm not the only one feels this way, as my entire visit I was the only guest, during prime dinner hours. They use to do good portions of fish, but now are very cautious of how much they give you. The food is decent, and is in a good location for a meal after working out at the new nearby 24 Hour Fitness, but it's not a spot I would go out of my way for anymore to eat. I like it! It's similar in concept to Subway. You choose a bowl size, then your base (white or brown rice, or salad greens) I like half salad and half brown rice. Then you choose your protein (tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, octopus, tamago, crab, etc) then you choose your toppings (many options--wasabi, green onions, onions, jalapeños, ginger, green sprouts, etc) and finally you can choose a sauce. I always go for the original. It's a very healthy meal, full of protein and can be made low carb by ordering just salad greens for your base and little or no sauce. Their prices are fair. read more

1 server was serving a line of 6. After she served 2 of the 6, she went to the back to get help, and thank goodness because the wait was getting long. I got the small (2 scoops of fish) with half white rice and half salad. The rice was scooped right out of the rice cooker, but it was cold and a little hard; needs more water when cooking. The fish comes next then the toppings. The sauce comes last. I don't prefer this because all the toppings, although good, gets the sauce and it doesn't reach the fish, rice and salad. I prefer other poki places that mix the sauce with the fish first. I made my bowl into the Combo #2, which comes with spam misubi and a medium fountain drink. I added $0.50 to turn that drink into their pokinade, which I liked very much because it was refreshing and not too sweet. The spam misubi was flavorless and didn't taste like much. I wish I didn't get it. I'd come back if this place was close, but next time, I will ask the server to put sauce on my fish and rice first before the toppings and not wait for them to follow the sequence and offer the sauce last. read more
