First time trying Bako and I liked it. I ordered the green tea lychee with aloe Vera. It was light, refreshing, and fragrant. I ordered it 50% sweet and it was perfect. I liked that you get two lychee in the drink. Service was great. Ambiance is chill and I like the vibe.
Cute, minimalistic spot with a couple of tables inside and self-order kiosks, making ordering quick and easy. Parking was also very convenient. I ordered the Creamy Sesame Frappe ($7), and it came out super fast. It had a rich black sesame flavor with a nice icey texture. Even at 50% sweetness, it wasn't overly sweet, which I really liked. Definitely a place I'd come back to!
Love this place so much! I love how chewy the boba is and their rice topping is great too. I was a little bit skeptical when my friend added it to their hojicha latte but it was really good. I like how you can smell their tea leaves in the front if you are unsure of which tea to try. Ordering was fast, I used the kiosk and I received my drink quickly as well. I like how the lids have an extra layer of protection with a seal underneath so that it won't spill through the lid.
Love how authentic and natural the teas taste here! I originally tried this boba shop in OC and wished that they would open one closer to me. So glad that they've had it here because I've been going for a while-- even attending one of their grand opening days! This time around, I got the hojicha latte at 75% sweet. Love how roasted and nutty it tasted, but I could've probably gone for 50% sweet as it was still pretty sweet. I have also tried their earl grey cheesecake tea latte, and that was also sweet-- so keep in mind if getting to lessen the sugar too. My go to is their roasted oolong tea latte cause I'm an oolong tea lover and it's made to perfection every time! Service was great. Cashier was able to help me use my 20% off from the blind box cup sleeve I got back in February. I like how they have their CNY chimes above the register, adds a nice touch. We did have to wait 20 minutes for boba, but the cashier also kindly told us that it would take 20 minutes-- we were willing to wait. I would say it was worth it cause the boba was fresh and chewy! Looking forward to trying new drinks the next time I come, especially the White Oolong.
In the area and wifey was craving for matcha latte and decided to check this place out. There's no one in the front just a ordering pad on the wall. I ordered the matcha latte with oat milk (+$.50) and requested less ice and there's no option for that. Order came quick and wifey gave it a 4.5 star. She loved how smooth and earthy the matcha tasted but wished they had some kind of foam topping. They gave her less ice so she was very pleased. Overall: the shop was very minimal two tables one bench but wifey says if she's in the area, she would visit again.

Clean and modern tea shop with delicious, flavorful, and strong tea. There's a lot to choose from: lattes, fruit teas, loose leaf teas, and more. I ordered a genmaicha latte with boba (75% sweet) and loose leaf oolong tea (no sugar). Both very good, and I appreciate how powerful the oolong tea is as someone who loves a strong tea. I also love that they have an option here to get the cups sealed in case you aren't drinking immediately or just want the peace of mind knowing your drink won't easily spill. When we came, we ordered from a kiosk--no staff was available in the counter area except when making drinks. Not sure if it's like that often since it's my first time here. There's some seating inside if you want to hang out or just if you're waiting for your orders. Location is great, by Cerritos mall, but the plaza can get busy. Didn't have trouble finding parking on a Sunday, though. Highly recommend this spot!
We just happened to come across this tea house after having dinner and I am beyond obsessed! Their aesthetic was just so pleasing to the eye. It's very minimalist, but in a good way. They also had samples of their loose leaf tea by the counter for people to smell if they needed help in deciding which tea to go for, or while waiting for their order. Ordering was very easy and convenient as they have a kiosk customers can use to put in their order. Once our order was in, we didn't have to wait too long for our drinks to come out either. They don't have much seating, but they do have a small bench as their waiting area. Now for the tea... all of the drinks we got, we were extremely happy with. They were so flavorful with the perfect balance of sweetness to it. The taste of the tea was incredibly strong and robust with every sip and I loved it! What we tried: Roasted Oolong Tea Latte - 5/5 I'm a huge fan of roasted oolong tea in general and this one was exceptional in its toasted nuttiness, and very moreish. I wanted to have a second and third cup of it, it was just way too good! I had mine with 75% sugar and it was just the right amount of sweetness for me. Earl Grey Cheese Cake Latte - 5/5 So creamy and decadent, and yet you won't get tired of drinking it because it's not overly sweet. They did recommend just 50% sugar and that's what we got--it's the perfect amount of sweetness in my opinion, especially with the cream top. Lemon Wintermelon Tea with Lychee Jelly - 4/5 This one was simple, yet still delicious. It was very refreshing and very balanced in flavor; although again, we just chose 50% sugar with this drink and it still had a lot of sweetness to it. Their lychee jelly is really good too and went so well with this drink! Highly recommend this place, especially if you're a fan of good, authentic teas and tea lattes! I'm already itching to go back and try their other drinks.
Clean vibes tea house with various coffee and tea drinks. Went for an after dinner tea. Parking was a little tough in the lot - there's a lot of restaurants in the same plaza. Was able to order immediately from the kiosk. Ended up getting a hot wintermelon tea - I'm not a caffeine drinker so was very happy to see some warm non-caffeinated drinks for a change. Was ready in a few minutes - tasted pretty good, not too sweet, which was what I was looking for. Would come back!
Bako Tea Cerritos is in a busy plaza surrounded by popular restaurants and dessert shops, so parking can be tough on weekends. There are only a couple of small tables for groups and a bench near the entrance if you're waiting for your drink. You can order through Toast online, at the touchscreen, or at the register. The interior is nice with a calm, relaxing vibe. The tea itself is strong but not very fragrant or intense compared to other boba shops. They're generous with aloe vera and toppings though. Bako Tea is a decent option if you're already in the plaza, craving a tea drink, or want to try unique toppings like oat or purple rice. But if you prefer bold, aromatic tea this probably wouldn't be your top pick.
After being here a few times, this is more of a tea house, but I definitely enjoyed their Matcha latte drink. The ordering process is fairly quick and straightforward, sometimes the staff will come out, if there is a line, but the self ordering kiosk does a trick. Usually the staff is in the back making the drinks. This is probably one of the most introverted stores ever, but the interior decor is so cute. This is more of a to go place then somewhere that you would hang out for a bit. Parking is OK, except for rush-hour where it's really packed. I enjoyed the drinks that I would come back several times, making this my preferred tea shop.

I'm usually not a latte person, but this one was perfect. The tea had a nice blend of honey and floral notes. The ordering process is straightforward. You can place your order at the kiosks, and the drinks were prepared in the back. There are a few tables inside for customers to enjoy their beverages. Parking is convenient, as Bako is located in a plaza with a shared parking lot. If you find yourself in the area looking for boba, I highly recommend stopping by Bako.
I came here in the afternoon to get a tea. The store was spacious but has one kiosk, two tables, and a small bench. I ordered the Osmanthus Amber Oolong Tea and less sweet. It was full very sweet, so it can go down one more level of sweetness. It was very good though. I wanted a receipt, but I don't see the printer, and the employee didn't give me a copy. I unfortunately forgot about it. They should put the printer where it can be seen and accessed if it is available.
Needed a midday tea pick me up came here on a Sunday. be warned this complex is PACKED....there is a lot of parking but it was all filled up had to circle. The teahouse is so cute, it feels so peaceful and serene instead. the decor is very minimal and intentional, feels like an authentic asian tea house. They even had jars of tea leaves for you smell to get the aroma before picking a tea. I ended up getting the matcha latte, it was pretty good! a bit grainy for my liking but the flavor was still good. read more
Still thinking about the winter melon with purple rice!!! I loved the taste of it combined with the milkiness and the purple rice ---- hear me out! It leaves a nice texture and an additional taste that combines really well with the winter melon. The matcha latte was not too sweet which I like! The indoor space is so cute! You can order via the kiosk and there are tables and chairs for you to wait. There's also WiFi! It was refreshing to stop by here on a hot summer day. read more

Honestly disappointed with the teas here at this location. I have tried a different branch in Santa Ana and it was very good. I got the Hojicha Latte last time and decided to get it again because I enjoyed it. Upon receiving it, it looks the same but tasted very lacking. The milk didn't have a latte texture and the tea wasn't giving hojicha neither. I was looking for a good earthy hojicha with a milky texture and I wasn't getting that. It tasted watered down milk, but with a hint of hojicha. I also got it 50% sweet, and it was okay on the sweetness. The Cassia tea had the same problem. The tea was very bland and the milk tasted watered down. I got 50% sweet on this one too, but it tasted more bitter than the hojicha latte. I most likely won't come back as I don't recommend their drinks here. read more

The teas here are so flavorful, strong, and creamy. My favorite is the Genmaicha, it has an almost nutty flavor to it. It's a smaller space with only two tables on the inside, but I really like the vibe of it. You can order through the kiosk or with the cashier. I asked if I could customize a drink, but unfortunately they don't. Please bring a Jasmine Matcha onto the menu, it would be soooo good. ig: @cravingswithcat read more

I am not a tea person at all but I was convinced by my friend to give this place a try. Needless to say, I was so impressed and happy with my drink. I got the roasted oolong tea with the cheese foam and boba. It was perfect amount of tea flavor for me mixed in with the savory foam and bouncy brown sugar boba. I will definitely go back and get the same drink again! Kisok machine is available for ordering and they make your drink fairly quickly. The inside has some seating but it's more of a grab and go shop. read more
Parking is available in a lot. The interior is super aesthetic with a few seating areas. Loved the vibes! I had really high hopes for the tea here since very few places offer the specific teas that they do - like my favorite Phoenix oolong. We got the Phoenix oolong and roasted oolong tea lattes. The tea flavor was definitely present, but both our drink were over-steeped with a very bitter aftertaste. Disappointing cuz I can tell the tea leaves they use are really high quality. I'm hoping this was just a fluke as I heard great things from other people. read more
I was craving tea and wanted to try this place out. The place is quiet and chilll. I like the little teacup shell design. Service was quick. I got the hojicha latte with grass jelly and 50% sweet. That was seeet enough for me and tea was pretty good. Grass jelly was ok. It tasted like can grass jelly versus freshly made. I also got one with boba and I prefer the boba more than the grass jelly. I also got the roasted oolong latter and was also an okay drink. read more

Honestly I'm never in Cerritos but after searching for a spot to chill and chat with a friend at, we randomly decided on Bako and I'm so glad we did. Stopped by on a Saturday night, so parking was ridiculous to find. There was a steady flow of customers and the line did not get too long. You order on an ordering screen and there are seats inside to wait for your drinks. There are also a couple of tables for bigger groups. I decided on the phoenix oolong tea latte (half sweet, less ice of course), and my friend got the wintermelon tea latte with grass jelly. The phoenix oolong tea latte hit the spot!! So yum and not too sweet, which I prefer. Unfortunately, my friend forgot to get a lower level of sweetness in her wintermelon tea latte so her drink was too sweet. Regardless though, we both really enjoyed and scarfed our tea lattes down. read more
I stumbled upon this boba shop while I was in the area and looking for a nice post-meal drink. It's a smaller shop with limited seating, and ordering is done through a self-service kiosk. One thing to note is that there wasn't anyone at the front to help if you had questions, so it's definitely more of a self-serve experience. I did appreciate that they had samples of the tea leaves laid out on the counter so you could smell the fragrance of each tea before choosing -- such a nice touch. I ended up going with the genmaicha latte and really enjoyed it. It was creamy, refreshing, and not overly sweet at all. Overall, a solid spot for quality tea. Not sure if I'd go out of my way to come back, but I'd probably stop by again if I'm in the area. read more

Cute little tea shop I stumbled upon while grabbing some Gyu Kaku. Nice you walk in, there is this chill atmosphere. There is a self order kiosk which is very convenient if there is no one at the register taking orders. The menu is above the self order kiosk and the menu is in the self order kiosk. I saw they had season drinks which were not part of the self order kiosk, which I wanted to try. So maybe that could be an option that's needs to be added there. I like the variety of drinks they have on the menu as well as the toppings. I usually order something basic but my boyfriend was curious with some of the toppings they had. I got a jasmine milk tea with boba and my boyfriend got a matcha latte with boba and purple rice, which he was curious about. I like how you can make your adjustments on the self kiosk. The wait for our drinks wasn't too long. We waited as there were many tables and seat available. This is definitely a place I'd like to return to, to try their other drink option! read more

Love Bako! Would highly come again and again. I got to try both their teas and milk teas and both were delicious. The boba is the perfect texture and the adjustments help make the drink match your preferences. There's a nice slightly dimmed ambiance to the store with minimal seating. The staff is also super nice and are open to help with adjustments. Overall love this place! read more
New boba in town of course I had to try it. At first I was suspicious because there weren't many people there on a Saturday night. I then ordered Jasmine green tea with boba and Jasmine green tea with cream top with boba. Both drinks were made to request and tasted refreshing! While the staff was making my drinks, I smelled the sample tea leaves on the counter, they were really good, especially the rose tea. Staff was nice and friendly, parking has already be a pain in that plaza, especially during weekends. I am giving Bako a four stars because as I saw down waiting for my drinks, the table was dirty and sticky, more cleaning needed. Overall recommended! read more
This review is for the ceremonial grade matcha latte. At 50% and 75% sweetness, the drink was very sweet. The amount of milk watered down the matcha, making the flavor very light. One positive was that the matcha was whisked smoothly, with no clumps. Ordering can be done through a self-serve kiosk or with staff, and drinks came out very quickly. There are only two tables inside, so seating is limited. Besides matcha they offer other lattes, pure brewed tea and fruit teas which may be better. read more
Great experience! I like that they had samples for us to smell the tea. I appreciated that they had options for a tea heavy or light option! I prefer my drinks to be heavier on the tea side and this was perfect for me: They offer both screen ordering and ordering with an actual worker. The worker was sweet and even adjusted the sweetest of my friends drink because it wasn't up to par with what she expected. Limited seated but it wasn't very busy when we came so no big deal! Great location too, so I'll def come by again if I'm in the area shopping or eating. read more

Minimalist, clean, and tasty. I've been to the original Bako location in Santa Ana, and this was my first time visiting the Cerritos location. We stumbled upon it right after eating at Mikiya and decided to give it a try. Drinks (5/5): I ordered the Phoenix Oolong, and it was excellent , it reminded me of Orobae with its smooth, fragrant tea flavor. Ambaiance (5/5): There are only a couple of tables inside, so it's not really a place to hang out, but perfect for a quick stop or to-go order. I'll definitely come back again the next time I'm in the area. read more
Very rare I catch myself in the Cerritos area, let alone twice in a week, so I had to come back again after my initial visit since I had mixed feelings about my first order. Ordering here is easy; just order on your own at the kiosk and drink comes out pretty quickly. First time I ordered a honey lemon kumquat green tea, 50% sugar (lowest sugar option). Even at 50%, I thought it was wayyyy too sweet and at one point wondered if it was even prepared at 50% sweetness. None of the tea flavor came through and I only tasted the honey lemon kumquat. Second visit I ordered a regular roasted oolong tea, also at 50% sugar. Tea was nutty and strong, but again still too sweet for my taste. I've concluded maybe Bako is sweeter than some other places, so I'd order 25% moving forward. Solid spot along South and lots of other good restaurants in the shopping center. Quick turnaround on drinks, but can't say anything regarding service. Didn't get to talk to anyone during both my visits.. read more

Tea flavor wasn't very strong in the hojicha latte, so that was disappointing. The earl grey latte we ordered was great. I would adjust sweetness for both drinks to be 50% next time and ask for the hojicha tea leaves to be brewed a bit longer next time. Service and ambiance were perfectly cozy. I'd love to give those two drink orders a second chance with some adjustments. I was also informed by a dear friend that their genmaicha latte was delicious, though I cannot personally vouch for it yet. I'm looking forward to returning and reliving some of the fond memories I've shared with this cafe. :') read more
Bako Tea House has quickly become my new favorite place to get milk tea, especially because of their roasted oolong. The Phoenix Milk Tea is also really good and I appreciate that they offer milk substitutions like oat. The boba is always on point, soft, chewy and consistently well prepared. I also like that the kiosk lets you choose milk heavy or tea heavy, adjust sweetness and ice, and even decide whether you want the drink sealed or not. The matcha is just okay. It has turned out a little watery the few times we tried it and leans on the milkier side, but everything else has been excellent. Parking can be extremely tough since there are only a handful of spots, even during non peak hours, so that is something to keep in mind. The service has always been great. Everyone who works here has been very nice and accommodating. The inside of the shop is small with only three tables and space for about six or seven people, but it has never felt packed during any of our visits. read more
So glad I finally tried this place. The matcha was so yummy, it leaned more towards the milk tea side of things but still had a nice matcha flavor. I got 100% sweet and it was a little too sweet for me so i would recommend getting less but I also subbed for oat milk and I highly suggest doing that because it really helps bring out the matcha notes. Service was fast, the shop was beautiful, sleek and honestly calming to be at. Can't wait to come back to try more drinks! read more
Tea was pretty ok, but didn't stand out and wasn't really unique or extraordinary in any way. I will say, what did stand out and the reason to the point deduction was how the shop smelled. I believe I got the roasted oolong or the phoenix, can't remember, but flavor was ok. Requested for it to be more tea than milk and they pulled that off pretty well. Boba consistency was nice. Again, the drink was fine. What got us surprised was the minute we walked in, the shop smelled. I couldn't pinpoint what it smelled like (sour/moldy/sewage but less pungent?) but the smell wasn't pleasant and the fact that it wafted through the shop had us wondering what was going on in the back or kitchen of the shop. Note: The person I went with is usually nose deaf to a lot of smells, so the fact she pointed out the smell to me means it must've been pretty significant of an odor. I've loved Bako at the Santa Ana location and was please to find out this location has opened. Bako is known for their high quality teas. They pride themselves in using loose leaf teas and have ceremonial grade matchas. And I love by default they use organic milk. They have teas you can't get at some tea shops including their hojicha and genmaicha lattes. There is a lot of different options to choose from. My go to is just their simple matcha latte. It's just done right and an order is a large cup. I get it with boba and their boba balls are done right. I order through their kiosk but you can order with a person or even ahead online.
