I first had Astra in Westminster and it was really good. I remember the menu was limited. Now I tried the Astra Artesia location and the menu has grown quite a bit since I first tried them. Additionally, there was a $20 off first app use coupon. We had to try as many drinks as we could. Double matcha was good but the absolute winner was the avocado durian. Thick and smooth with a strong avocado and durian taste. It is an absolute family favorite. Great job Astra. We will be coming back for more! Didnt know this place was here but i saw they had matcha for me and cute space theme for my husband and we went! They had barely opened for the day. Not sure if they are very new to the area. I got the oreo brulee matcha and my husband got brown sugar milk tea. We both really loved our drinks and we esp loved the moon-textured cup that the milk tea came in. The decor is super cute and astronaut/moon themed. The chairs are modern looking and there was plenty of space to sit. The bathroom was clean. Service was okay and the drinks came out fast. Surprised though that they had just opened and were out of boba for the day (i dont think they had some & ran out i think they just didnt have any). I've stopped by a few times, and I really like the vibes here. It's usually pretty quiet and isn't too busy, although I also tend to stop by closer to closing time. I love how it is space-themed! Since it's fairly new, they were also giving us these coupon cards with every drink purchase. Some of them had free toppings, while others had $1 off coupons, which was a nice little touch. I really like their fruit drinks. They have a nice, refreshing fruity flavor without feeling too heavy. The first time I came here, I ordered from the kiosk, so I wasn't able to adjust the sweetness or ice level the way I wanted. I was pretty impressed as a first time visitor. Located in one of the very busy shopping centers on South St, this place it worthy of a visit. The theme is cute, the inside has a nice open concept, ordering was easy (either at kiosk or with employee), and prices were affordable. The menu was unique! For dessert, my friend and I visited a new cafe spot. Okay, I was pleasantly surprised. I got the top recommended drink - "Matcha Cloud Jasmine Oolong", 30% sweet, no milk substitute. At 30% sweet, it was perfectly sweet. I can definitely tastes both the Matcha and Jasmine - it tastes almost similar to Molly Tea's Jasmine Milk Tea with Matcha Cream. New drink spot in Artesia! I've been seeing this place on Yelp, but haven't had the chance to stop by their shop in OC. So glad that they have this closer to home because I love it-- literally upon the first sip of my drinks! For the drinks, we got the milky way coconut avocado, pistachio cloud camellia, nebula berry soursop, double mango comet camellia, matcha cloud jasmine oolong (not pictured), and comet grape camellia (not pictured). I was able to try the pistachio cloud camellia and the matcha cloud jasmine oolong. For the pistachio cloud camellia, I love the floral taste that comes from the camellia and the balance of the pistachio cloud with little bits of pistachio that come through as you sip the drink. For the matcha cloud jasmine oolong, I can definitely see why it's #1 on their Top 10 drinks because again the balance is perfect-- there's no overpowering of the matcha or jasmine oolong and it doesn't taste watered down like other places. This drink kind of reminds me of Molly Tea's jasmine matcha latte, but Astra Bean's has a stronger matcha and tea taste (which I love)! Plus that it's a spacious location with many seats and outlets. The space theme is adorable with the astronaut and the moon on the wall. Service is wonderful-- the lady working today in the afternoon was very kind. I got a few drinks to try. Personal favorite is the: 1. Double Mango Matcha Eclipse - matcha quality is there but I really loved the mango cream top. It reminded me of a Filipino dessert "Mango Graham". The REAL mango flavor was there. Had mango chunks too! 2. Ube Coffee - not a coffee drinker but again, the ube cream top did not fail. Tried for the first time and really enjoyed it! What stood out to me most was how unique and interesting the drink flavors are. Their menu has a lot of combinations you don't normally see at other boba shops, which made it really fun to try a few different things. We ordered the Double Mango Eclipse Matcha, Pistachio Comet Matcha Latte, Nebula Berry Soursop, and Camellia Milk Tea. Everything was so good! The mango matcha was fruity and refreshing, the pistachio matcha was creamy and nutty, and the berry soursop was probably the most unique of the bunch -- tropical, slightly tart, and really refreshing. The Camellia Milk Tea was smooth and fragrant and a nice more classic option. I really appreciated that every drink tasted different and had its own personality instead of feeling like variations of the same thing. I'm not in Artesia very often, but I would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area because there are still so many drinks on the menu I'd love to try. I had to give this place a few tries to see how I really Felt about them since I did try them first during soft opening. During the soft opening, I thought their matcha was a bit watered down so I had to try other drinks to see if it was just that. Their viet coffee is pretty good, standard viet coffee. My husband likes their ube def more than the pistachio phin coffee one. He said the Milky Way was decent but the ube was his favorite. We tried a few drinks since they had a special and had a variety of choices for the kiddos too. My kids said the brown sugar one was a bit too sweet but they do have modifications for their drinks which would be great if you want that option. I just don't like their matcha. I had their double matcha also and pistachio one and both of them I could barely taste any matcha. From what I did see when making it they have them premade. They don't have the matcha made to order it's already cold inside the fridge which I notice was the same for most drinks that we tried. Service wise, I was a bit disappointed the 2nd time I came because they prioritized two people after me for their drinks. Those were 4 drinks total and I ordered 5 drinks. If they just did mine first I wouldn't have waited that long and noticed that the others AFTER me got their drinks first. Even if their drinks may be easier to make, I should have gone first since they were able to make 4 drinks and barely made my 5. That definitely dropped a star for me. Other than that, the place is clean. Cute decorations. Parking is hard due to their surrounding restaurants but it is what it is for that. That's beyond their control. Saw this place on Yelp after getting malatang and wanted to try! I went with a big group so I got to try a lot of drinks. The decor inside is very nicely themed with cool chairs and a giant moon!
